What does Peace mean in the Bible?
It means to know the Lord,

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isa.26:3

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Jn.13:27

Whatever it means, The Lord represents it and gives it ... and the wicked get none of it.

"The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."
(Num. 6:26)
"There is no peace, saith The Lord, unto the wicked."
(Is. 48:22; 57:21)
"The way of peace they know not; ... they have made ... crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace."
(Is. 59:8)
"Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace and there shall be none."
(Is. 7:25)
"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He hath visited and redeemed His people, ... To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."
(Luke 1:68, 79)
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: ... Let not your heart be troubled."
(John 14:27)
"Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: "
(Rom. 3:16-17)
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
(Rom. 5:1)
"... He is our peace ..."
(Eph. 2:14)
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ."
(Phil. 4:7)
"Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all."
(2 Thes. 3:16)

What does Peace mean in the Bible?
The absence of conflict. Tranquillity, quietness, rest, harmony. It primarily applies to peace with God, as well as the peace of God. There will be no peace on earth until after God's judgments come upon the ungodly and Christ establishes His eternal reign on earth. But believers have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore they also have the peace of God. But peace does not mean appeasing the evildoers.

I notice that almost all the new testament letters start or end with the salutation 'grace and peace be with you'

Grace seems talked a lot about in some churches but peace is hardly ever mentioned.

If Im in a church where there is strife and dissension, I really dont want to be there. I also know in churches of those kind that their group prayers rarely get answered.

1 Peter 3:11
Let him eschew evil, and do good: let him seek peace, and ensue it.
for the eyes of the lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
And who is he that will harms you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

One thing that I notice is when people complain that God doesnt listen to them, so much so they doubt that He exists. I wonder how this can be so when the Bible says that the Lord is against them that do evil.
There seems to be a disconnect with people that kind of assume that God should listen to every prayer. But if you are doing something evil, why should He listen to you? Humans have a lot of capacity for evil even when they are children. and sometimes its the people calling evil good and mistakenly thinking or assuming they are right when they are not...

and that is why they dont have Gods peace.

When greeting a man in Hebrew you would say, ma shlomcha? to a woman ma shlomech?

the word, shalom, is shortened as shlom with the appropriate perisomal possessive suffix, cha for a man and ech for a woman.

HJere, shalom means health or well-being. although its root meaning is peace. Shalom means many things other than peace.

Your best response so far is the P_reibehn above. I thought it befitting to meention Shalom because of what it can mean from the Hebrew in the Word.

Everyone please note that the first five are represented in terms of freedom...

What about freedom from sin?
Would that be peace.

It is one of the fruits of the holy Spirit - the third of nine listed in Galatians.

Pacific also means peaceful. To pacificy or use a pacifier is to calm a baby who is crying...
To be a pacifist means you dont fight in any kind of war.
