Pentecost 2021, begins Sunday, May 16 at sunset & ends Tuesday, May 18 at nightfall

Lev 23:
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
(MY NOTE: Strong's 4744, Holy Convocation = a rehearsal, set apart assembly, calling, reading.

7 Feasts of the Lord
1) Passover, 2) Unleavened Bread, 3) Firstfruits, 4) Pentecost, 5) Rosh Hashanah 6) Yom Kippur 7) Tabernacles

These Feasts [Appointed Times] of the LORD (Lev 23). Are foreshadows to be understood as a "rehearsal" or "recital". Seasons planned & fixed before the sun & moon were set as acting witness's to God plan (Gen 1:14).

Pentecost/Greek - Shavuot/Hebrew is known as: Festival of "Harvest" (Ex 23:16).

3 mandatory pilgrimage [every male Jew 20 yrs & up had to travel to Jerusalem] "HARVEST Feasts" = Passover, Pentecost & Tabernacles! (Ex 34:23-24 - Deut 16:16)

Paul writes of these special days appointed by God, as foreshadows in revealing Messiah/Jesus the Christ, as part of God’s creation plan. (Col 2:17)

IMO these 3 agricultural HARVEST festivals are Soul HARVEST foreshadowing's.

1) Passover: [Barley] "HARVEST" - A firstfruits/Resurrection Soul HARVEST that already happened (Matt 27:52-53)

2) Pentecost [Wheat] "HARVEST" - The Main/Largest & only Harvest where a count down (Omer) beginning on day of the firstfruits sheaf/wave offer & ending with the Pentecost 2 loaf wave offering.

3) Tabernacles [Fruits] "HARVEST" Final ingathering Soul HARVEST!

At the 1st Pentecost/Mt Sinai (Ex 19) the LORD makes a Covenant [Mosaic law] with the Israelites. Marking them as a set-apart people & the Nation of Israel was born.

Acts 2 Temple Mt, 1st post Christ resurrection Pentecost, Jews that "Believed" Jesus was their long promised Messiah/Redeemer were filled/SEALED/indwelt with God's Holy Spirit". Three thousand souls (Acts 2:41) are HARVESTED & a New Covenant [making the old Mosaic/Sinai covenant obsolete Heb 8:13] begins & Christian Church is born.

Holy Spirit is given to believers as a "seal" references: 2 Cor 1:22, Eph 1:13-14, Eph 4:30, 2 Tim 1:14, 2 Cor 5:5.

Scriptural background making a case for Pentecost & the redemption/resurrection/catching-up HARVEST (1 Thes 4:17) foreshadow:

Ex 19:1 In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
Shadow verse
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Ex 19:16 (b) There were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount,
Shadow verse
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Ex 19:11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
Shadow verse
Hos 6:2 (B) In the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
BTW we are now early in the 3rd post resurrection day (Ps 90:4 - 2 Pet 2 3:8)

Ex 19:20 (A) And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai,
Shadow verse
1 Thes 4:16 (A) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,

Ex 19:20 (B) The LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; ""and Moses went up"".
Shadow verse
1 Thes 1:17 Then ""we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air""

OT Israel, trumpets & shofars/rams horns were blown for a variety of reasons:
Assembly, announcements, time of day, time of prayer, war, celebration, new moon, full moon etc.

Silver trumpet, a call to Assembly:
Num 10:
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
(MY NOTE: Make 2 trumpets out of 1 single piece of silver, use these trumpets to call the people to ASSEMBLY for journeying)

Ex 19:
16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the """voice of the trumpet exceeding loud""" so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
(MY NOTE: The people hear the trumpet & assemble to meet God)

19 And when the """voice of the trumpet""" sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and """God answered him by a voice""".
(MY NOTE God answers via """voice of the trumpet""")

20 And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
(MY NOTE: Vs 16: the VOICE of the trumpet; Vs 17: calls the people to meet/assemble before the Lord; Vs 19: the VOICE of the trumpet sound & waxes louder & louder. Moses speaks & God answers him with a trumpet VOICE; Vs 20: the Lord descended down the Mt & calls Moses up)

Shadow verse;
1 Thes 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(MY NOTE: The Lord descends , calls His Church-Up via the Trump of God & the VOICE of an angel)

The firstfruits [Jesus resurrected on this day] sheaf WAVE offering [Lev 23:11] of the barley harvest begins a 50 day count down [known as "counting of the omer"] to the Pentecost WAVE [2 loaf Lev 23:17] offering. These WAVE offerings connect these 2 HARVEST feasts.

Firstfruits/a resurrection foreshadow: A sheaf/bundle of 1st blossoms, of the 1st grains gathered. The priest [starting at the waist] is to lifted-up [over his head] & wave the sheaf before God. This action acknowledged & dedicated the coming harvest to the LORD.

This wave/offering before/onto the LORD, sanctified the whole field of harvest to come. Christ was RAISED-UP the firstfruit of resurrection. Setting the stage for the entire human race to be resurrected.

1 Cor 15:
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23 (B) Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

A day of resurrection/reckoning awaits every person that ever lives. The question becomes; where will you spend eternity. With/in the presents of God our Creator. Or separated from, the presents of God. Deciding factor, FAITH, in Jesus sin atoning death & resurrection.

Early Pentecost tradition:

Book of Ruth:
For 3500 yrs the Book of Ruth [a rehearsal] was read every Pentecost. The story of Ruth & Boaz, a Kinsman Redeemer. A foreshadow of Christ & his Bride/Church. Boaz a wealthy landowner of the tribe of Judah, takes Ruth, a gentile, for his bride during Pentecost.

Ruth 3:9 And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: ""spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid"" for thou art a near kinsman.
(NOTE: Spread therefore thy skirt [TALITH] over thine hand maid. When a Jewish man married a woman, he threw the end of his his skirt [TALITH] over her head, covering her, to signify that she was now under his covering/protection. When we say yes to Christ, he seals/covers us with his Holy Spirit protection)

Pentecost rabbinic traditions:

Decorating the bride:
Another foreshadow on Pentecost: A time spent tradition called "decorating the bride". [Church/Body of Christ is called his bride] Jews stayed up all night studying Scripture/Torah [Tikkun Leil Shavuot]. In the hope that they will receive a special blessing. They believe that God will favorably answer prayer by briefly opening up the heavens and supply a blessing. Sounds like 1st post resurrection Pentecost [Holy Spirit outpouring] & Thes 4:16-18 [catching-up] to me! Christ is coming soon for his Bride/Church.

Judging of the fruit trees:
A belief in Jewish tradition where trees [Fig/Israel] are judged by God, gives a picture of the Judgment Seat (bema) of Christ [ believers only here 2 Cor 5:10]. The fruit of one’s works will be judged & rewarded. No judgment for sin here [bema seat] Christ was judged & paid for ALL the believers sins on the cross. [Col 1:14 & Rom 4:7].

Festival without a date:
The Pentecost WAVE offering falls 7 Sabbaths plus 1 day after the Feast of Firstfruits WAVE offering. It's not until after the destruction Temple in A.D. 70 that Pentecost becomes a fixed fixed date. While the Temple was operating via the 360 day Jewish calendar & visually decided by the appearance of the new moon. Pentecost could fall on the 5th, 6th or 7th of Sivan, now mix in leap years.

According to rabbinic tradition, Enoch was born on Pentecost. Noah's Ark landed on Pentecost and King David was born & died during Pentecost.

Feast of conclusion: In rabbinic tradition Shavuot is referred to as Atzeret. The word Atzeret in Hebrew means "conclusion".)

Those that reject God's grace & remain in unbelief/reject/deny Christ's sin atonement until life's end/death. Will find themselves at the White Throne Judgment Seat where every sin, action, word & deed will be judged. Sins required wage will have to be paid. Ending in [loss of soul] eternal separation from their Creator (2 Thes 1:9, Rev 20:15).

I understand many may disagree with my view & that’s your privilege.

It seems to me that the feasts are not foreshadows, they are celebrations of our salvation. The first Pentecost was the giving of the law in stone, and it was fulfilled when the law was given in our hearts on that same day the law in stone was celebrated.

Many people have decided that Paul told us not to celebrate our salvation with feasts, and they quote Colossians 2 telling us not to listen to certain people. We know the Gnostics were teaching them, Paul says they were philosophers who depended on spiritual elements. They taught that only the spirit of the Lord was of God, the earth was evil.. The Colossians had been celebrating the feasts and the Gnostics told them they should not do that, it was of the earth. Paul said to follow Christ, and to follow Christ was to follow love--they should listen to scripture not Gnostics. They also should not follow the pagans in their worship of days and seasons.

Col. 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

Christ honored the feasts, we are to follow Christ.

I see, I take it you're in Jerusalem right now. Because, because like Jesus did, scripture requires all adherence to travel there for Pentecost. What's the weather like on the Temple Mt today?

The Jerusalem of which all believers adhere has yet to be brought down by our Father.

Feasts relating to the Jerusalem of bondage have no bearing upon the New Jerusalem. Also, the Jerusalem on our maps has nothing to do with that of times past and never will. I have studied in Jerusalem, and I did not see a nation led by the Torah, nor having a High Priest.

We all have been made priests tot he Most High with One High Priest, Jesus-Yeshua.

One Jerusalem is strictly political, the other is totally Spirituals and the capital of the Israel of God. Take your choice.
