I have a brother in law named James. He call himself King James lol
I think it would help in our discussions if you didn't add sarcastic comments that can confuse people.

No offense, but I'd rather not give out any names. I don't want you to go searching for them, and getting yourself under their teachings, becoming more entangled in deception than you already are. I'm trying to protect you here.Whomever these hyper charismatic people you speak of teach what I believe ?? Maybe I will try and find this kind of church you speak of.
For I was taught by no one but with relationship with God and reading.
Ephesians 4:17-32 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, [SUP]18 [/SUP]being darkened in their understanding, [SUP][m][/SUP]excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; [SUP]19 [/SUP]and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality [SUP][n][/SUP]for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. [SUP]20 [/SUP]But you did not learn [SUP][o][/SUP]Christ in this way, [SUP]21 [/SUP]if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, [SUP]22 [/SUP]that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old [SUP][p][/SUP]self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, [SUP]23 [/SUP]and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, [SUP]24 [/SUP]and put on the new [SUP][q][/SUP]self, which [SUP][r][/SUP]in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, [SUP]27 [/SUP]and do not give the devil [SUP][s][/SUP]an opportunity. [SUP]28 [/SUP]He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with [SUP][t][/SUP]one who has need. [SUP]29 [/SUP]Let no [SUP][u][/SUP]unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification [SUP][v][/SUP]according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. [SUP]30 [/SUP]Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, [SUP][w][/SUP]by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. [SUP]31 [/SUP]Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. [SUP]32 [/SUP]Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven [SUP][x][/SUP]you.
When you put verse 24 in context, you can see that Paul is telling us how we are to relate to one another, how we are to show love towards one another, and how we are to live for Christ. This doesn't mean that we no longer have a sinful nature.
Colossians 3:1-17 (NASB)
3 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [SUP]2 [/SUP][SUP][a][/SUP]Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. [SUP]4 [/SUP]When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Therefore [SUP][b][/SUP]consider the members of your earthly body as dead to [SUP][c][/SUP]immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which [SUP][d][/SUP]amounts to idolatry. [SUP]6 [/SUP]For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come [SUP][e][/SUP]upon the sons of disobedience, [SUP]7 [/SUP]and in them you also once walked, when you were living [SUP][f][/SUP]in them. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. [SUP]9 [/SUP][SUP][g][/SUP]Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old [SUP][h][/SUP]self with its evil practices, [SUP]10 [/SUP]and have put on the new self who is being [SUP][i][/SUP]renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— [SUP]11 [/SUP]a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, [SUP][j][/SUP]barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and [SUP][k][/SUP]patience; [SUP]13 [/SUP]bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. [SUP]14 [/SUP]Beyond all these things put on love, which is [SUP][l][/SUP]the perfect bond of unity. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Let the peace of Christ [SUP][m][/SUP]rule in your hearts, to which [SUP][n][/SUP]indeed you were called in one body; and [SUP][o][/SUP]be thankful. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Let the word of [SUP][p][/SUP]Christ richly dwell within you, [SUP][q][/SUP]with all wisdom teaching and admonishing [SUP][r][/SUP]one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing [SUP][s][/SUP]with thankfulness in your hearts to God. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
When we put verse 10 in context -- again, it is telling us how we are to relate to one another, since we are in Christ. It doesn't say that we no longer have a sinful nature.
No, you're not going to dodge this one. I want you to explain what your understanding of the gospel is, in your own words.I believe the same gospel as you explained. But the thing is most Christian that I have met are not being transformed. They react, think, talk, walk, and respond like those who don't even believe. They go to church and are still self center, self preserving, still have anger, getting hurt by others and so on and so...
The biblical understanding of repentance is throughout the Bible, and it does have to do with our sin. When Jesus came he said repent for the kingdom is at hand. He change our whole language when he came. Matthew 5:1-48 you say but I say.. We still live by an eye for an eye mentality in the church. Smh
Walking as Jesus did means that we are to treat one another with love. We are to show compassion towards others. We are to serve others, etc.And if I ought to be a disciple of Jesus I should walk as he did or his disciples. Or does he not operate the same with his spirit? Is He not the same yesterday ,today and tomorrow ?
I responded to the demonstration of Spirit and of power part in an earlier post. I will repost it here (this is from post #198):As Paul said 1 Corinthian 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:...
Are you aware that demons can show power, too?How come you can debate with a unbeliever all day with why God is real or not. But if you show them what can they say?
I believe in all of the biblical spiritual gifts. If that's how you want to see it be all means........ So do you believe in Gifts? If so what gifts do you have and what gifts you don't have? Plus how do you know?
What about the fellowship of the believers? Do we need that?I was just saying we don't need no pastor other than Christ. I can't speak for all but the seminaries I know of request pastor students to take at least one psychology course. I'd rather learn from a carpenter.
Because there will be signs and wonders the other side comes up with charismatic movement to counter but that doesn't nullify true signs and wonders. I guess we just have to be careful.
I know what the Bible says, Simiel.Well I guess you should go back threw the bible and read it again. Are you baptist? I spoke to baptist preachers/teachers you sound like them.
I am a new creation in Jesus Christ, but that doesn't mean that my sinful nature is gone. When you put off something where does it go? You see what you want to. But I speak from a life lived. Like I said I can't tell you the last time I sinned . Out of the heart these things come.. Do you have a new heart or are you still drawing out from your old? Did you not deny yourself or do you still live and play possum? So when squeezed by others you come out and not the Christ in you? You don't squeeze a orange and get apple juice. You queeze a orange and get orange juice. The same way it should be with "Christ"ians. Your life's live is what you truly believe and your heart's expression is who you truly are.
God loves me because I am His creation. Jesus loves me enough that, even though I am an imperfect sinner, He took the punishment that I deserved upon Himself, and He died in my place. If Jesus calls you brother what does that make you?
If Jesus was the last Adam how do God see you?
Huh? Explain what you mean here.Adam and Eve had the same name until the fall. So what does that say about you and Jesus?
Um....God's talking about mankind -- not that they were named the same thing. Adam was called Adam before the fall. Eve was called Eve.Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Ephesians 6:10-20 (NASB)Demons can show power to good point. So how do we go against such thing?
Good for you. You've been healthy. That doesn't mean that your body won't ever get sick, or that you won't physically die.Something must be wrong with me for I haven't been sick since I believed Jesus healed me by his stripes and took our infirmities. It's been 7 years to be exact.
I have some additional questions for you here....The gospel I believe issssss. God so loved the world that he sent his 1 and only son so that he could restore us back to his created image (not 2 arms and 2 legs) but the image of love. Bringing us back to our created value and more making us a new creation in Him. That all who believed and be baptized with his spirit will be saved. Sanctified wash cleans and free from the law of sin and death. And his good work was finished at the cross
I don't come across many people who are possessed by demons (actually, I don't know of anyone who has actually been possessed). I know people who I think were under the influence of demonic manifestations, mostly people in hyper-charismatic churches who chase after the latest sign and wonder. There are a whole lot more who hold to doctrines taught by demons.Mans traditions always blame God.
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
How many people do you come across with demons? Seems like a excuse. Greater who is in me than in the world.
Still didn't answer my question are you baptist?
Your belief in that we are not equal to Jesus and can't do what he did.
But Jesus is not going to judge us because he is not greater than us(that is in him)
God will judge us and Jesus is our lawyer or representative.
We judge the Angels because they are lower than us (those that are in Christ)
God
Jesus (mankind)
Angels also Satan and his angels
Fallen man <who have not believed in Jesus
You say the greater work is more people coming to Christ. But I don't see people coming to Christ. I see the same person as the person who don't believe. ( not that I'm judging them from outer appearance) but from what fruits they bear. Depressed, stressed, and etc.... I see them still oppressed by the devil. Only wanting people to lick there wounds and justify the reason that they feel that way. Either the preacher/ lteachers of the gospel is missing someone or the people as believers is missing something.
I see plenty of denominations that believe in Christ but we are all divided.
I see no transformation.. Only to act righteous on Sunday, but Monday-Saturday life live is like a unbeliever. Our maybe I'm just going to the wrong church's or speaking to the wrong Christians.
WHy do you have diamonds on the soles of your shoes?People say I am crazy
WHy do you have diamonds on the soles of your shoes?
You are correct when you say that my belief is that we are not equal to Jesus.Your belief in that we are not equal to Jesus and can't do what he did.
You have made the Christian faith all about exalting humans and lowering Jesus to our level. You are not alone in this error. As I said, the hyper-charismatics make this exact same mistake.
That's because you don't know the real gospel or the real Jesus Christ. You believe in another Jesus and another gospel.
Some do act as you have said. Others still struggle with things, but they bow before Jesus Christ. They are honest with Him and with other Christians. They pray with other believers, and God walks beside them.I see plenty of denominations that believe in Christ but we are all divided.
I see no transformation.. Only to act righteous on Sunday, but Monday-Saturday life live is like a unbeliever. Our maybe I'm just going to the wrong church's or speaking to the wrong Christians.
I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure that the Hebrew word for man = AdamTaking out of context? when did God call her eve?
Even Adam called her women
Even the serpent called her women
Not till they got the boot she got the name eve
