Problem was that the man offering us dinner was the export manager of a leading factory in Italy. My dad gave me already his 'you'd-better-eat-that' look, so I had no choice...

No, it was a couple of months ago. We visited some factories in Italy, at the Lago Maggiore (beautifull enviroment, mountains, lake, ...)
