That is not what that verse says at all. It says God's Word will not return void. That means it will accomplish what He wants it to.
Isaiah 55 v 10-11 Just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.
Father's wish fro no one to perish, what Mercy for us all to still have, Amazing grace this really is

John 13:34 is now a new command Jesus gives you and all people, Love all as God/Son has loved you, and still continues to do that daily to us all. Not seen by many, especially when troubles come on them too. Anger, fear and worry, tend to lead people, and causes more troubles.
take a read on the book of Job. Put your name in Job's place and see Job is everyone of us all, as Job personally, to, see to not deny God

As the devil states in Job 1, Job only believes God, because God has got a hedge around Job. Take that hedge away, and Job will deny God. God allowed that hedge to be taken away and Job stayed in belief to God anyways. Even told his own wife to curse God and die after she said to Job to curse God and die, Job would not. Neither will I, anyone else? Answer that one to God, not me thank you
are you a born again Christian? if not, become 1 now. anyone's best chance at understanding the Bible is by being a born again Christian. too, born again Christians would never ask: "does the Bible start out with a lie"? ABSOLUTELY NOT, IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER!!!!! all Christians have the Holy Spirit living inside of them to help understand the Bible. & the O.T. was written in the language of Hebrew while the N.T. was written in Greek. nearly every time, when reading a passage, you have read before & after to realize the whole subject matter. have by your side a translation reference to also help you understand. the more you read, the more you'll understand. there's still millions of people trying to understand the Bible according to modern speech & language. & they end up quitting or never discovering the truth.

He may have been thinking of this verse: Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; he is God; that formed the earth and made it; he established it, he created it not a waste, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
Can't be sure though..
Ah, he did say Isaiah 45:18, you are right. Still, I think his interpretation was off...

How about, God spoke it into existence. He only gives us what He wants us to understand/ know; anything else is speculation— and you maybe adding.
“then I saw all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it; moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it.”

The Bible reveals Who created the universe and why, and its description of how jibes very well with the current Big Bang theory.
This is the standard YEC, OEC controversy. Biblically there's evidence that BEFORE the "Adamic creation" the earth was already in existence, and the "Was without form (tohu) and void (Bohu)" should be translated BECAME without form and void. every other Biblical instance where the two terms appear indicate destruction as the direct result of God's Judgement.
Obviously I'm personalle an OEC believer, and as a consequence, I have no issues with the "Heavens and the Earth" being much older than the YEC paradigm demands.
God is the AUTHOR of the Bible but He used the ancient Hebrew Jewish people to write the Bible. If you had access to the Hebrew version, which is important because the Hebrew Language [Letters also equal to different mathematical values] it's much easier to understand Genesis 1:1-2.
In the Hebrew Language the Bible begins with God + the complete creation of Heavens and Earth. But Verse 2 shows an Earth after destruction. And then Verses 3 and onward describes God creating the Earth again.
But that leads to the question how did a completed Earth become destroyed so God had to recreate it again?
Post #4 kind of eludes to the Hebrew thinking. Read Jeremiah 4:23 onward.

Dear friend, I say this as graciously as I can: If one places stock in the "Big Bang Theory", then that one would have to deny "Creation" as outlined in the Bible. The two can in no way coexist.
The "Big Bang Theory" states, that the material for the Universe always existed. If this was true - then the material for the Universe is an uncaused cause. This is considered scientifically impossible and denies cause and effect. Science attempts to place the Universe where God belongs because science despises the idea of a Devine Being, (Romans 1). ONLY God has existed forever - He is the one and only uncaused cause. The Universe is the effect of the cause - which is God almighty.
Believers need to wakeup and realize that science is no friend of the Word of God. Science is a human intellectual attempt to undermine the TRUTH of God. If one is trying to make the Bible fit into what science wants us to believe are facts, then that one has already begun a journey down a wrong path.
I don't know Hebrew. Are you saying that if I could read Hebrew, I would find that our English translations are all wrong, and that Genesis 1 really opens with God creating the heavens and the earth, then destroying them, then creating them again? Strange that none of the translators of the Hebrew and no commentary on Genesis I have seen even suggests such a thing.
I can tell you this that each Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is also a Numerical Value. In English there's a Letter and then there are Numbers separate from one another. But the language God taught to the Hebrew People was not separate and the same. And when you apply both to the word meaning you have more options to what a single word can mean. And this knowledge wasn't understood centuries ago.
