My Nana Irene (my grandmother my Mom's Mom) and sister Christina are visiting staying where I live and will be staying for 4 weeks straight. Last two Christmases when they stayed they made my Christmas totally miserable. My Nana hates GOD literally hates Him and hates anything to do with Him. When it comes to my Nanas hatred of GOD she really comes after me and the last two times the family joined in with her it escalated to the point of them screaming in my face and I was attacked daily by my family for my faith in my Nanas visit last two times. They jumped down my throat constantly for every little thing the look on my face, how I walk, how I talk, how I sit, how I stand and the list goes on. If I dared uttered so much as a peep in my defense then they'd call me a hypocrite and arrogant and I was compared to the Devil and Hitler. All I want for Christmas more then anything is to enjoy Christmas have fun and most of all have a Christmas that's focused on GOD. Please pray that GOD will grant me what I want for Christmas.

Skip defense. You don't need to defend you. God is doing the defending and he has the perfect track record.

How about asking the obvious question with all the understanding you can manage -- "How would you prefer I act?" Might knock some sense into them. After all, what family really wants someone to act like a creep?

And, yes. There are only two feeling anyone has toward God -- love or hate. Either one is as strong a feeling as those words mean. So that someone doesn't believe in God will always mean they hate God. The "don't believe" is just the cover-up. So you are getting the reality of how those who aren't saved really feel. Think about that one for a minute. How can we react to anyone the vehement against God but to love them and feel sorry for them? Ultimately, to pray for God's mercy. They hate you for loving God? Maybe. Maybe not. But they really do hate God, which is truly sad considering who God is. So love them. You are God's love to them. Remembering that might help you take it less personally. After all you're in the front lines for the King who wins/already won.

Just so you know. All my blood family hates God. Been living with this for 43 years. A crack of sunlight just hit a week ago. My brother, the guy who swore he gave up on God when Mom died 43 years ago, told me he is praying for my hubby. (See Jesuslives post if you want to know why. You don't have to know why.) I asked the obvious question, "Why pray if you don't believe in God?" He said he's covering his bases, just in case there is life after death.

Not salvation, but a crack. There is hope!

Jenny.. Just want to give you some encouragement in the Lord & say a prayer for you & your family during this Christmas season. Lord Jesus I lift up Jenny to you in prayer & ask that you would equip her spiritually for the coming days. Lord, in you we are more then conquerors & as your children we lack nothing. When the battles rage around us, our best defense is to walk in Love. As you will go before Jenny, you Lord will make the crooked places straight. Bring peace to Jenny & give her a strong sense of your presence when company comes to stay. Lord, your word says, that you are "ever present" Give Jenny a heart of gratefulness & praise for all the wonderful blessing that You Lord have given her. Cover her entire family & bring your Peace & Unity within this home. I lift up these family members who do not know you as Savior, that you Lord will begin to open their eyes to the Truth. As Jenny walks in Love, this will be the very thing that will bring peace. Let your "Will" be done, in Jesus name...

I'm praying that their car will break down before they leave their home and not get fixed for 4 weeks

The best response to people like that is silence and a knowing smile.

Father, set angels around Jenny to occupy the enemy, and even more to bear her up, and in the midst of this enemy may she put the focus on You without interference. And may by her word the naysayers be silenced, in the Name of Jesus.

I pray your Christmas will be spend more peacefully. Also you might prepare yourself by thinking up strategies. Of course God defends you but He can use you in that way too. Think about it what God wants you to do. Sometimes we need to say nothing and stay in peace and sometimes we need to show we do not deal with others bad attitudes. So for example you can walk away. Or simply neglect all bad (or confronting) comments. When comments get bad and they flow off of you simply because you refuse to feel hurt by them they sense how God empowers you from inside out.

This is all not a battle against flesh and blood. Behind it are spirits. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:12 God can strengthen our hearts, God can soften their hearts.

I will pray for you!
There will always be the foolish or the wicked in this world that delights in making others feel miserable.
You cannot change these people...but you CAN change how YOU let them effect your Christmas.
Pray Pray Pray
When the foolish pick on you....they only want you to be hurt and respond in argument. To feed the fire...so to speak.
I know it's hard. But ask God " Dear Lord I love you. These people are beyond my control, but not Yours! God give me the strength to walk away and let You deal with this, for I love You God and no fool or wicked will ruin my Christmas! In Jesus name Amen"

You are not alone! Everyone has said things in our lives we didn't mean in anger. But remember....God love's you and He wants to teach You beautiful ways as You grow in Him.
God bless you
You are in my prayers
In love....you CAN endure things.
Prayers all goes well!
Amen

four weeks! i pray peace, wisdom. remember the good book says dont be too religious to fuel the fire. i pray God's favor and come on february.

He had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

Dear Lord, you are in the miracle business. I pray that you will use Your daughter in Christ, Jenny, to show the Love and Grace that You gave her.

Jenny, as hard as it may be, try and see them as the scared, desperate, sinners they are, who are in Need of Jesus. Just show Love and Grace and let the Lord deal with them.

Peace, Grace and Love to you, in Jesus name.

Sister, Go away. Simply go somewhere, where you can have Christmas as you want. Are you married? kids? anything holding you back? finances?
If there are reasons why you can't just go then think on this;
Luke 12:11
[SUP]11 [/SUP]“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities (granny or sister), do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, [SUP]12 [/SUP]for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

Just be bold and hang on to Jesus coat tails with all your might.
Jesus Lord of heaven and earth, I ask for your guidance for this my sister as she faces the true adversary in her life this wintertime. Guide her mouth, and keep out all the thoughts she would put in her mind. Keep her mind clear fro your Holy spirit to do what you do best, in Jesus name, Amen.
