The 80's... before internet... before smartphones... before mp3!!!
Before computer based music editors... before in-computer CD burners... before widespread unlimited long distance phone calls... before cellphones you could hold in one hand...
BEFORE FINAL FANTASY VII?!! No way, nope, nyet, ixnay, negatory, I am never going back to the 80's!
I actually love the 70's too! To me the 70's were almost like a magical time if that makes any sense.. People were warm and friendly and always polite and everyone seemed to love children and there were so many other things I loved about the 70's. The 80's were more iconic.. killer movies, big hit songs and artists, etc..80's were cool, but I enjoyed the 70's more. Because it's what I grew up in I guess. Cars were cooler...clothing styles less expensive (no "must have", "designer" crap) lol.
Laws less restrictive, "political correctness" wasn't here yet, women were nicer.(sorry gals, but it's true in my experience). 80's culture seemed to make them come across much snootier for some reason.
Please don't diss me on this, I'm not attacking women, nor am I trying to cause trouble. Just saying how things seemed to change. I hung out with guys three years older as a teen (parents friends kids), and remember the times well.
I actually know what you mean. I blame Madonna for that..80's were cool, but I enjoyed the 70's more. Because it's what I grew up in I guess. Cars were cooler...clothing styles less expensive (no "must have", "designer" crap) lol.

Wow, that's amazing.I'm sorry, I guess I was born of a different era where a woman is to be regarded and treated as though there is no other. I work, cook, bake, clean, build, do the yard work, basically allow her to do as little as possible. If you chose her, than to you she is your princess and should be treated as such. Don't ever forget what drew you to her or you will lose her.......

I Really like your use of the alphabet, there, that really shows how it should be, and how I see it with my parents, married close to 7 decades. God bless the Truly faithful, linked together in Jesus, The One who is Faithful and True. It would be nice to have a spouse to cook and bake WITH! Been trying to avoid those 'other cookies' that the enemy keeps poisoning my computer chat life with. Home-baked cookies=GOOD ; Comp. cookies=NOT. Btw, decades are referred to like '70's, '80's, but generally changes occur at mid-decade, notice the music trends i.e. ..... 65 to 75 was quite a 'decade', a mix of a million wonders that just seemed to spontaneously spring forth all over, east coast, west coast, england.... Blessings?, cursings?, Peace?, War?, I think the world is still recovering and trying to sort it all out. Praise God for his long -suffering towards us, and His grace, mercy, and love in Jesus Christ our Lord and 'Master Chef'. Thanks for the post. 'Olè'.Wow, that's amazing.
But what about two people helping each other out? I'm not looking for a servant, nor looking to be someone's servant. Will serving my spouse be what I am doing? Yes... because I'll love him and want to do things for him. I do XYZ very well and will offer that, I hope he can do ABC very well and will offer that. As for DEFGHIJKLMNOPQURSTUV? That's the stuff we'll do together (or pay someone else to do).
I want to be treated as a valuable person to my spouse, not a princess to be bowed and scraped after. And that's how I want to treat my husband: valuable, not my ruler.
I'm sorry, I don't know what it's like to have two people helping each other out. It has always been my job to work as many hours as I can, take care of the kids, the house the remodeling, etc.... all the time while the woman slept or went out with friends for the night. I wouldn't know how to react to have a partner who is my equal or even just helps out. I still treat women with high regard as they are rare and precious. A woman must go through 9 months of pregnancy and then is blessed with producing life, to me, that is a rare gift. A male warthog can reproduce so that doesn't speak well for us but for all that you can accomplish is very underappreciated. If men gave birth we'd have a shortage of people right now, one cramp and we'd all jump off a bridge. Women are definitely the stronger of the two sexes and I ain't afraid to say it.
Back in the 80's people actually talked to each other more (face to face) and spent more time together. I wonder what changed all of that? hmmm...The 80's... before internet... before smartphones... before mp3!!!

Does he brush up, he never brushed up
He does nothing, the boy does nothing
