From Trox news:

A poster displayed at the West Virginia statehouse Friday linking Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., to the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, has sparked outrage among lawmakers.

The poster, which was displayed on a table in the rotunda in the Capitol, showed a split picture of the World Trade Center on fire on top of a snap of Omar.

“’Never Forget’ – You said..” the caption on the picture of the twin towers read.

Meanwhile, the caption of the picture of Omar read, “I am the proof you have forgotten.”

The poster was part of the display for “WV GOP Day,” which is when the “Republicans Take the Rotunda,” NBC News reported.

Omar became the first Somali-American elected to Congress in November. She is one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, along with Democrat Rashida Tlaib.

It was not immediately clear who put up the poster, but lawmakers got into a heated dispute over the display. The argument even became physical, leaving a doorkeeper allegedly injured and a lawmaker resigning.

A few Democratic lawmakers condemned the poster and allegedly got into a feud with Anne Lieberman, the House’s sergeant-at-arms, “after she allegedly made an anti-Muslim remark,” NBC News reported. Lieberman denied the remark but resigned Friday following the allegation.

Democratic lawmaker Mike Caputo allegedly injured a doorkeeper during a heated argument, WSAZ reported.

The House has 59 Republicans and 41 Democrats. House Speaker Roger Hanshaw said the incident was being investigated.

"We have allowed national-level politics to become a cancer on our state ... to invade our chamber in a way that makes me ashamed,” he said in remarks on the floor. “We can do better.”

Democrat Mike Pushkin called the poster “racist” and “wrong.” He said no Republicans condemned the display.

“I’m really disappointed that not a single Republican elected official in this building could join me in saying it’s wrong,” he told The Washington Post.

Omar responded to the poster in a tweet on Friday.

“No wonder why I am on the ‘Hitlist’ of a domestic terrorist and ‘assassinate Ilhan Omar’ is written on my local gas stations,” she wrote. “Look no further, the GOP’s anti-Muslim display likening me to a terrorist rocks in state capitols and no one is condemning them!”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Right ... it's not because her hateful rhetoric flows from her mouth (resulting in Eliot Engel, a fellow democrat, having to call her out) or that she's the "sweetheart" of Farrakhan ...

“I welcome debate in Congress based on the merits of policy, but it’s unacceptable and deeply offensive to call into question the loyalty of fellow American citizens because of their political views, including support for the US-Israel relationship,” said Engel, whose district covers parts of the Bronx and Westchester.
“Her comments were outrageous and deeply hurtful,” added Engel, who is Jewish, “and I ask that she retract them, apologize, and commit to making her case on policy issues without resorting to attacks that have no place in the Foreign Affairs Committee or the House of Representatives.”

Omar has not apologized for her questionable comments at the request of Farrakhan [bold mine]:

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan says Rep. Ilhan Omar merely spoke the truth and should not have apologized for saying Israel and the U.S. Jewish lobby use money to control U.S. politicians.
Indeed, the black-nationalist anti-Semite chided the Minnesota Democrat who apologized last week for playing into anti-Semitic tropes about supposed Jewish control of banking and finance.
Mr. Farrakhan praised “Miss Omar from Somalia. She started talking about the Benjamins and they are trying to make her apologize. Sweetheart, don’t do that.

Is it my imagination, or is Locotus purposely antagonizing US citizens with his regular posts against President Trump as well as Republican Conservatives? I honestly don't understand why a citizen of Canada would spend so much time promoting negative news against our country, unless there was a motive.

I used to come to this forum all the time for news updates from all over the world. But now it seems it's being taken over by Locotus for his own purposes. What a drag. :cautious:

Ok, well I Googled the name Locutus and discovered that it's from Star Trek. The Borg aliens advanced their plans to assimilate the human race by kidnapping Starfleet Captain Jean-Lu Picard and making him their spokesman. They named him Locutus and he said resistance was futile and that their lives would be taken over. So I guess CC member Locutus is referencing that episode and letting us know he's taking over the news forum. Oh well.... bummer.

Rep. Ilhan Omar facing new scrutiny over past effort to win leniency for 9 men accused of trying to join ISIS

Embattled congressional freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., once asked a judge to show leniency toward a group of Minnesota men accused of trying to join the Islamic State terror group.

The nine Minnesota men were facing decades in prison after being accused in 2015 of making plans, including buying fake passports, in an effort to travel to Syria and fight for ISIS, which was at its peak level of activity and held territory in Syria and Iraq.

...

One of the men in particular, Abdirahman Yasin Daud, was facing over 30 years in prison for trying to join the terrorist group. He admitted in court that he wasn’t trying to enter Syria on humanitarian grounds, but rather to participate in the activities of ISIS.
“I was not going there to pass out medical kits or food. I was going strictly to fight and kill on behalf of the Islamic State.”

— Abdirahman Yasin Daud

But Omar told the judge that the best way counter extremism was with empathy rather than punishment.

“A long-term prison sentence for one who chose violence to combat direct marginalization is a statement that our justice system misunderstands the guilty. A restorative approach to justice assesses the lure of criminality and addresses it.”

I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her. She's anti-Semitic and ought to be tossed out of office. Ought to be the same for either side that shows they are anti-Semitic and or racist.

So what did he say then?

Too much to post it all out. He said there was wrong on both sides. Antifa is as dangerous and racist as the KKK. As we've seen since. Both are wrong, both clashed on that day. Both of them use violence. He came out against both. As far as the statues leave them up,take them down,up to the town. Just Dems trying to bury their racist past. Fortunately Ilhan is exposing their dirty underbelly again. Anti-Semitic and racist. Support of Planned Parenthood alone shows that.
