Today is the day of suicide prevention, so I thought it would be a great idea to unite in Christ and pray for deliverance and strengthening of the people who suffer from depression and similar problems, especially Christians who are struggling with it. This can be a persistent infirmity, and sometimes even medicine fails.
I wanted to die for a long time in the past, but by God's grace, I did not raise my hand to take my life, here I am, and have reason to live.
May Jesus help them like He helped me, God open their eyes, restore their will to live, give them life. Be open, receive. Amen.

Let us read how Jesus helped the person in Mark 5 who suffered from mental illness,
(probably manically depressed, and he was definitely psychotic also):

Mark 5
1
And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs (his depression was drawing him to dwell at the graveyard); and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. (mental illness... it takes a group of people and a sedative to restrain mental patients...)
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. (depression and self harm... nowadays some do the same thing with razor blades... but the spirit is exactly the same)

Jesus cast these demons into swine, and the man was "in right mind" since.

We ask for full and powerful restoration for all the sick, whether in body or in mind, especially those whose minds are ill, and that people forget in asylums, give them back their sound mind Father, and open their mouth to praise You. Amen

Will light a candle and pray with the brethren for all caught in the bondage of suicidal thoughts. It is such a painful experience. Thank you very much for this prayer request.

If there is anyone reading this, who are experiencing suicidal thoughts, please call out to the Lord, and reach out to someone, even professionally if you need. Do not just sit in your pain.

You matter, you are precious, more than you know.

We love you, truly and are praying for you with all our hearts. No one loves you more than Jesus!! He so wants you in His loving embrace.

Hi SoulWeaver. I was very sad to hear of your struggles. I work with people who are suicidal all the time. It truly saddens me that someone get to the point where they just don't want to live anymore. Though nobody's life is of lesser value, it's the younger people who are successful taking their own lives that really upsets me.
Life is hard. It may be harder now, but I'm guessing it was pretty much harder in the old days. Each generation has it's own struggles. I personally think that people don't talk (or listen) enough, and that families don't get together like they used to. We are all told that if you're not busy, busy, busy climbing the career ladder, or making that bit of extra money for retirement, that you are basically useless. Young people haven't got much to hope or aspire to. We don't make things with our hands anymore that you can be proud of; we're a wasteful, selfish society in the main. People need SOMETHING to live for, need occupation, and friendship and to have their family around them. People don't seem to be passionate about anything.
Well here is my prayer:
Our loving Father; please help those who are having suicidal thoughts, or trying to take their life. Guide them down a better path and give them something to live for in this messy world of ours. Fill them with your loving spirit and make them see that they have truly special gifts which can help others. Amen

Thanks for sharing your story in brief. It’s encouraging to learn that God has carried you through some rough times. It’s nice of you to pray for this issue, too. I’m standing with you, asking for God’s strength and deliverance over His people. Blessings to you, friend.

Thanks for this. My heart is hurting today. I lost a very good friend last week to suicide (it's a bit controversial since he was a pastor and it's just frowned upon) and my aunt's death anniversary is in two days where she committed suicide.

I am revisiting this thread, again let us pray for all sad, troubled, hopeless and suicidal people so the shackles on their minds will be now lifted in the name of Jesus. May the Holy Spirit tear down prisons and every thought that exalts itself against God, to trouble His precious creation. Also praying for brothers and sisters in Jesus who struggle with other mental illnesses. Let the angels of God fight on their behalf, relieve them, in Jesus' name, may they all be healed and their minds transformed. Let the living water of Jesus quench the flesh that troubles them. May God set their eyes always on Him and eternal life that awaits us and fill their minds with the highest and excellent wisdom. Amen in Jesus' name
