Hello everyone, I have some food for thought.

It's easy to overlook but we need to protect our personal data and information online.
Last week, Google was sued for $5 billion for selling our personal information in disturbing ways.

I recently got fed up with constantly being bothered with targeted ads and popups and decided to take back control of the internet.

The easy switch was to switch my internet Browser to Brave Browser. It feels just like Google Chrome so there isn't a learning curve.
It blocks ads and trackers for you and they don't store or sell your data.

You can download it here: https://brave.com/mrg132

Thank you :) Those issues (personal data gathering) have been a concern for me also. I have downloaded the Brave browser on your suggestion, and am using it now. I came to this Tech Support forum to see where I could ask about my message box icons not showing up in both Edge and Chrome, but they are back to fully functioning in this browser! Thank you very much :)

This is clearly nothing more than an ad. This man joined the site, posted this ad, then logged off and hasn't posted a single other thing. He calls himself a Christian in his profile, yet offers no time of salvation, no scripture and no extra information.
The great irony of joining a forum just to advertise, while criticizing others for doing the same. If that is how this company conducts itself i'd stay far away from it.

Most of us have probably already done something about pop ups without changing our browser.

Old news

That warns you that your info is not protected should you post it in a thread and that anyone can read it. Still though, people continue to tell everyone every thought in their heads and I don't mean just here. o_O

I'll pass on the download. Not much of a introductory post. Welcome to CC.

And how can we know that Brave browser is not selling our data, who can guarantee that? We're in way too deep and it's a bit late. If you have a Google mail or any big site account, it's a given that your data may be used as you have not intended. They have too much power at this point.

I am using Ecosia. A large chunk of their revenue is used for planting trees. They release financial reports to the public and document planting of trees with many videos, so it seems they are legit, judge for yourself.

Anyway, welcome.

Good point. Still, Edge will not work properly for me any more. I will look into Ecosia :) Thanks!

Oh... Ecosia is a search engine browser add-on

I am using Firefox, which also blocks pop ups, ads and data harvesting. No need to download anything else. BTW try Mewe as an alternative to Facebook, its small at the moment but are joining daily.

Why do people need so many social networking sites?
