the earlier Bibles geneva said clearly DIVORCE DIVORCE DIVORCE

and that is why they were called PURITANS

they should have claled the ANTIDIVORCIANS but that would have drawn attention to the truth

they knew the WINE OF BABYLON that would destroy babyon was false doctrines such as divorce is accepted.

so here is what king james says

read it and see what you get out of it
it isnt WRONG it is just PURPOSEFULLY UNCLEAR so you can make a case in court for divorce is ok

for put away, what does that MEAN? no one knows

The word itself is a derivative of purge.
Yes, from the latin 'purgere.'

The concept is supported by the bible used at the time of Christ.
No, The Bible at the time of Christ was basically the OT, it doesn't have purgatory in it nor supports that idea.

The apocrypha is what people call the books removed from bibles during the protestant reformation for supporting purgatory.
No, for instance the dutch did include the apocrypha in the 'Statenvertaling,' albeit with a warning.
They weren't 'removed,' they never were a part of the proper canon in the first place.

Peter writes under Holy Spirit inspiration that we are not redeemed by corruptible things like silver and gold but by the precious blood of Christ. 2 Macabees teaches that Macabus or what ever his name was purchased his dead soldiers from purgatory for a price. These soldiers were in purgatory because they were carrying a forbidden idol under their tunics. This one reason that the protestant church removed the apocrapha was removed from the bible by certain protestants. There can be no conflicts in scripture. All of scripture must agree because it has one author. this is how the pope and company continue to avow false doctrines and condemn countless souls to eternal condemnation. Jesus Himself taught in Luke 16 that those in hell could never leave. Luke 16:26 I find myself compelled to take the words of Jesus over all the popes and priests of rome combined.

Of course the bible at the time of Christ was the OT. There were two canons and the OT canon Catholics used was the most used list. Protestants removed books from the bible that fit the minority canon.

Dutch were protestants.. so you have no point.

There were part of canon until the protestant reformation.

Let's be VERY CLEAR here. Catholicism does not teach that one is redeemed by ANYTHING other than the blood of Christ. Without those graces, we would all be doomed.

2 Macabees teaches that Macabus or what ever his name was purchased his dead soldiers from purgatory for a price.

Who ever told you that was either a lie or his teacher was a liar.

I really enjoy you judging my heart and telling me what I do and believe in a sick and twisted way.
Purgatory is not hell or part of hell. I do not take any man's words over those of Christ.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

This verse is saying the ones that had resurrected from the first death which it sound like that they had came from a place and which the Catholic priest had misunderstood its saying, but it really saying the ones that had came from a period of their lives being purged from sin. Here is a verse that showing that a person has been in purgatory:

Luke 15:24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Everyone must go through the fire....

1. Rev 20 not talking about purgatory. Purgatory in catholic teaching is not dead. It is a life but in fire.

2. Luke 15 not talking about purgatory. Purgatory in catholic teaching is not dead.

3. Jonah went to huge fish belly not purgatory.

4. Baptism or fire not purgatory. you said every body must go to fire baptism. Catholic believe not everybody must go to purgatory. Holy person like peter or Mary not go to purgatory.

So baptism with fire is not purgatory.

Jonah had disobeyed a direct order from God and which he had to be purge from it. God had put and Cheribum with a flaming sword in the front gate of the Garden, and if anyone that want to enter must go through the Guard.

Matthew 10:34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

John 10:1 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

Hebrews 12:6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”

Revelation 3:19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

Really? Romanism teaches that one must be baptized, receive communion, and have the cooperation of the church to enter heaven.
Who ever told you that was either a lie or his teacher was a liar.
I read the passage in 2 Macabees for myself.

I only share with you Gods word. If your heart is judged it is by Gods word and not me. I can only teach of hell and of the lake of fire because I cannot find purgatory in the bible.

Jonah is life when he went to belly, physically life.

Catholic teaching is people go to purgatory when it spiritually life but physically death.

Matt 10:34 talking about a person who make decision to come to the Lord may reject by his family, not purgatory, read the whole story.

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Purgere would be a third conjugation verb if 1) such a verb existed 2) I said "to purge"
1) True, the verb is purgare, I learnt my verbs as infinitives 2) purgatory isn't derived from the english word 'to purge,' but from the latin.

Of course the bible at the time of Christ was the OT. There were two canons and the OT canon Catholics used was the most used list. Protestants removed books from the bible that fit the minority canon.

Just read up on your canon history. What the protestants call apocrypha the catholics call deutero-canonical, so second rate canonical. The prostants never 'removed' it from the canon, just never incorperated in into their canon. In some protestant bibles you do find those books, but as an appendix.

Dutch were protestants.. so you have no point.

I DO have a point, you said the protestants removed the apocraypha from the Bible because 'they' mention purgatory (which is false.) My dutch (protestant) Statenvertaling (of 1637) still has the apocrypha in it, albeit as an appendix. Not all dutch ARE protestants btw, there's a catholic majority in the south.

There were part of canon until the protestant reformation.

NEVER of the proper canon, but as DEUTERO- canonical books, so as a second rate canon.

Btw I'm done correcting your ignorant comments.

all your reference is out of context brother. Be careful to read the bible, don't catholic interpretation mislead you. Pray yourself before the Lord when you read the bible.

Yes, I know that the Catholic religion is saying that after a physical death there is a place to be purge from sin, because they are hanging onto their old traditions like how some others Judeo-Christian's sect are still hanging onto the Sabbath tradition. Maybe if someone learns Latin and call up the Pope to make arrangement to have a nice little chat with him about the little error that they are making, maybe he will sit and listen. All of God's words are suppose to be spiritually discern, but it is not to be taken literally or by the letter. The devil was trying to make Jesus to go by the letter, but Jesus has shown that He has the Spirit of God in Him that had ascended down on Him like a dove, and so now He can spiritually discern the scriptures ( Which He doesn't need the spirit since He is the Spirit and He's already complete, but He had done it to demonstrate what we must go through).

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”

15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness. ( He was just following procedures to show us what we must go through to be complete)” Then John consented.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Matthew 21:32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.( John had did the same thing what the people of Nineveh had done and that is to give up all their earthly belongings, and life.)

It is a heinous doctrine that denies the sufficiency of the blood of Christ. It is salvation by works and denies Gods grace. Christ did not need to die if men can be expiated through suffering in purgatory. That is why it is flatly rejected.

For the cause of Christ
Roger

You don't understand purgatory. Nothing is accomplished there outside of the grace of Christ. Purgatory is the name of the state or process in which one is freed from the damage that sin has caused. Although Christ frees us from sin, we are all damaged, otherwise we'd be perfect. Purgatory could be reflective, it could be painful, it could be happy - there is no particular view on it. Catholics believe that there is some moment or place in which we go from how we are now to how we will be for eternity. We do change, we have to change or else heaven is just like Earth. That change, however it happens, is called purgatory - it's purgative.
