Grace-Like-Rain- If you had been unable to start your business, or unsuccessful at it, what do you think you'd be doing now?

It's kinda cool how God provides. I've had several job offers for rather interesting jobs. One was a youth director position at my church. One was managing the displays, merchandise and ebay sales for a nice boutique in our historic district. One was a paralegal (in training) position at a law firm. I'm spoiled though... I love my flexible schedule and mostly-weekend workload. Life is sweet.

MissCris: When was the last time you cried like a baby during a book or movie? What was it?

Well...that's actually not true....
each religion teaches different things. The "biggest" religions right now are supposedly Islam, Buddhism/Hinduism, and Christianity.
Each of them have MAJOR issues that can NOT be reconciled with each other. There is NO chance that they can all be right---you can't have relativism in religion. All three major leaders (Muhammad, Buddha, and Jesus Christ) all claimed that their way was the ONLY right way. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY. NOT EVERY RELIGION teaches the SAME thing. NOR DO THEY ALL TEACH THE RIGHT THING.

Major differences:
Christianity believes:
1. God is the Creator of all things. He is a self-reflective, personal being.
2. God is Trinitarian--this sets it APART from Islam. We believe that there is ONE divine essence (GOD) that exists in three persons (father, son and holy spirit).
3. Jesus Christ was the son of God and HE WAS GOD at the same time. He died on the cross and rose from the dead three days later. HE HIMSELF CLAIMED TO BE GOD---(John 10:30)
4. People are born SINFUL---this is important. and different from the other religions.
5. People mess up and sin AGAINST the morally perfect God.
6. Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation. Believing on HIM is the ONLY was to be saved. there is NO other way. NOT by works or anything.

Islam believes:
1. Allah is the only true god.
2. He is the absolute unity and there IS NO TRINITY.
3. They believe that Jesus was ONLY a good man. and that he NEVER claimed to be God. (Just check John 10:30, or 1 John 2:23)
4. Humans are creations of Allah---but they are NOT enslaved to sin. If they try hard enough, they can obey Allah.
5. In the final judgement day, the Qur'an states that: each man shall be judged by his own labours.---you can NEVER have a FULL assurance of salvation with Islam. NO Muslim is assured of his or her eternal fate at the judgment.

Hinduism:
EVERYONE IS GOD.

Buddhism:
Saved by works. If i try hard enough. i will succeed.


So...that's the major differences.
The reason why Islam is so controversial is because...Muslims blatantly disregard the Bible--God's word, and follow the Qur'an--a book written by Muhammad, a normal human being.

Oops sorry! I thought I answered but just in case - yes my name is from that song, which is one of my very favorites. Love those lyrics! Another favorite has lyrics that sing, "If grace is an ocean, then I am sinking". Such a beautiful visual of my life in God's grace.

Tough call. Elway took Denver to the Super Bowl five times, winning the last two when they finally got all other phases of the team to support him. If Elway had an older version of him in the front office when he played, who knows what the Broncos could have accomplished. I was raised on Broncos' football way back when they had Craig Morton, Haven Moses, and Rick Upchurch. This year's team is definitely the BEST of them all.

Oh wow...I'm not real sure. I almost never cry during books, though I think I might've when I read The Lovely Bones...but that was a few years ago. As for movies, I cry every time I watch P.S. I Love You (don't judge me ) or The Blind Side.

I'm a fairly frequent crier when I watch Criminal Minds. All it takes is someone's kid getting hurt or abducted, and the water-works start.

You asked what I'd missed out on in childhood that I might be grateful for now...

You know, I actually had to think about it and the only thing I think I missed out on in childhood were some material things. We were a one-parent-income family (my Mom stayed at home with us) on a very strict budget. I guess at the TIME it really seemed like a big deal because I didn't have some of the things the "cool" kids had and I was particularly jealous of one little girl with a lot of Hello Kitty accessories... henceforth, the reason why I am now sipping tea from a Hello Kitty mug. I was also envious (are you sensing a theme here... I guess I was a greedy little kid ) of another girl who took gymnastics lessons--something I always wanted to do but my Mom wanted us to learn to play the piano instead (poor Mom... I left behind any sense of musical knowledge before I even hit my teens.) I also remember thinking certain trends... like neon clothes and certain brands of shoes were really cool... but I could not convince Mom to buy them for me.

I can count on both hands the number of movies we ever saw (this was back in the days even before VCR rentals )... and I didn't get to go to a lot of the school functions or events, so I always felt my number of friends was limited (or maybe it was just because of my personality!) My parents also didn't spend a lot of time with us, even though my Mom did stay home... (I know that sounds strange but every family has its oddities.) I don't know how it is I came to love reading and writing because it wasn't something they taught me or did with us. Granted, I know my childhood was a world-class resort in comparison to what many have been through. But I always felt... abandoned in a way. They were just busy, working parents and maybe I was just a needy little kid.

I think one of the most valuable things my parents ever taught me through this was how to save money. I love to see and touch things... and then put them back on the shelf. Sometimes it's enough for me to see something for myself and then go home. Some friends and I made a 2-hour trip the the gi-normous 3-story mall in Illinois, and after spending a day there I hadn't bought anything. One of my friends (a guy, at that) insisted, "OH NO, we came ALL this way, you're not leaving until you buy something!!!" (Lol!!! Does lunch count? )

Now, of course I have my own splurges (travel is a huge weakness, even if it's just to the next town) but I am extremely grateful that my parents taught me how to save for a rainy day (especially when the lightning strikes.)

And, you have me thinking... while I didn't have fancy clothes or the latest trends... and maybe my parents didn't sit and spend lot of time with us... but I had love galore from my family, and of course, there is no price on a gift like that.

Thank you very much for asking me... You really had me thinking. I know I'm not explaining it well... I think it's more the fact that I felt so much different from them--that I really needed to talk to them about this or that but our personalities are so different that they never really "got" what I was trying to say and so I just withdrew... and I'm translating it into material things... But you also have me thanking God for a family that truly loved me.

When I said my childhood was "a world class resort compared to some", I did NOT mean at ALL that somehow my life was better or superior to others--what I meant was, I don't meant to sound ungrateful in any way, shape, or form, because I know so many other people have been through really tough times that I really can't complain about anything.

Hmmmmm, that's a good question, milady. I have to go back to one time I did this, but the memory is kind of faded, because I was around 14. I just remember it was a very hush-hush deal, and ,we were out in the pitch of night, and someone gave me 2 or 3 rolls of TP to start putting it on the bushes around a friend's house. I remember no more, though, but, yes, one time in my life I did do this kind of devious act to another
I've never egged anyone's houses, I was not into that kind of mischief.

Growing up, around the same age as TP experience, a friend of mine had a big apple tree and he and other friends would take the apples off it and this friend lived close to a freeway and so all my buds would go to the side of the freeway, which was 8-lane Interstate 5 ,by the way, and , toss them across as the cars were coming by. I could have done it but I don't think I ever did. I just was there. Thankfully, no one ever tossed them airborne across, just rolled them across.

​I have met very handsome men, but I haven't ever been so self conscious to the point of not being able to speak.

Aimee- What type of job would be sheer torture to you, and why?

Working as a translator would be horrible! Different dialects and my accent may or may not be correct. Then there's the issue of not being able to speak anything besides English... I would just start making things up. "She wants you to peel the bananas and walk over to the monkey pit. Yep, that's right. Now climb over the protective fence while yelling, 'I'm the king of France!'. Now throw the bananas at the monkeys. Yes, it's completely safe..." Ya know? I might enjoy being a translator come to think of it.
