So I been praying for God to take away World of Warcraft from my life cuz it was taking over and in a bad bad way. :) And I got to delete my 2 main characters that I spent 7 months grooming (it took all strength and courage only God could provide). I felt so sad really (time and money wasted, fake friendships I had to end) but I know God is shaping me to be a better person. Not saying WoW is bad, it's just not for me :) So you'll see more of me in chat and forums bugging everyone cuz thats me going through rehab. lol. Your encouragement will be so much appreciated :)

Addicted to video games, eh? At one time I believe I was too. It was my passion, one of my hobbies, something I loved to do. My grades in school suffered because of it. Never cared much about my education. Just video games. I think also it was because of my immaturity too. When I got to college, I had to change my attitude and devote more time to studying. I was more mature as well. So I suppose I grew out of it.

I still play, but I've got more self control.

If it was getting in the way of being a responsible adult, cut back or cut it loose. So you did the right thing. God bless and may he help you in your struggle.

I see lots of people come here saying they quit X bad thing in their life. You cannot just replace addictions and spend 14 hours a day on a chat room though as I have seen some people do. That doesn't really mean a change has occured.

All things in moderation.

No but it gives me something to do rather than be idle and be open to more temptation! :)

I know what you mean. I used to be super addicted to videogames. I am addicted to the internet now (lol) but I'm working on minimizing my use too unless it's talking to actual friends/I have real free time. We end up making time for whatever is most important to us, even if we don't mean to.

I would highly suggest adding more real world activities to the mix and working with your hands. I know part of the addiction is tactile stimuli, and replacing it with something productive may help a lot. :D

Oh, that's hard. Our prayers will be with you.

I, myself, found that I was hooked on Combat Flight Simulator for a couple of years.

Been there! I used to play video games all the time and watch TV and stuff. Then I guess I got bored of video games and I got roommates who didn't want to pay for cable and suddenly I had so much free time! I picked up some healthy hobbies and made a ton of new friends.

Thank you guys for the encouragement. :) I got to clean my house, cook and do real life stuff lol and got to talk to my parents for the longest time since ever. but um, my friends are asking me to get back on and that they'll help me moderate, i don't know if that works???? help >.<

How are they "asking" you unless you are going to those sites looking for their input?

No I have em on skype and other messaging apps.. I mean i made friends over the last 7 months of playing. Met a couple too and people I now consider good friends.

Maybe they will, and maybe they won't. Or maybe they will, but perhaps you won't be very apt to it.

I think you'd be playing with temptation, but you know yourself and your friends better than I do.

I use to be addicted to games as well. Didn't get into the WoW fad but I did play Dark Age of Camelot for years. It started to hurt my relationships and I was neglecting my family. One day God pulled me from it and the time I spent on games I started to give God more time and my family.

I have tried to play online games since then and I just get bored and maybe last a couple days before I quit. God has completely taken away the desire to even want to play.

Keep focusing on God and the gaming won't even interest you anymore.

Thank you. Yes I been praying for God to take the desire away. So far I never had the urge to play but my friends messaging me is not helping. I can't just ditch em. That's where I'm at right now. Thanks for the encouragement.

Maybe you're being tested. I'll be praying for you too.
