Hello and welcome to CC!

At one time I was in a similar place. I needed to learn how to relate to God through Jesus Christ. In Him, the condemnation for sin is gone (Romans 8:1), and the conviction remains only long enough to draw me to repentance for the specific sin(s) (1 John 1).

If you have trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation, you have the right to ask for His help in fighting sin. Ask that He would fill you with His Holy Spirit and would empower you to overcome the sin that so easily entangles you.

If you have repented of a specific sin and still feel guilt over it, that is either from your own feelings or from the enemy, and the best way to handle it is to repeat to yourself that in Christ, your sin is forgiven.

I've been facing the same problems for a while.
Lets turn to obeying his voice as he requires us, accepting his blessings as they are written; that through faith in his name, we are saved, and by loving one another, we fulfill the law, and by walking in the spirit, we won't sin.
Accept that all your sins are forgiven. If someone's sinned against you, forgive them, and forgive yourself.

Luk 7:34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

1Ti_1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

There is a short video (19 minutes) that explains about Christianity and might explain that we do not have to be good to come to God, because we can only be good in him.

Do you believe in the LORD Jesus Christ? His Gospel, His death and resurrection?

If you do, then you believe that His life was sacrifice to cover every sin you have and ever will commit. You have no guilt. Your guilt was covered by His sacrifice on the cross. Shame is a wicked lie, it keeps you from knowing the love that God has for you. Shame is fear. It is the fear that punishment awaits you for the wrongs you believe to have done. But no punishment will be given to the children of God.

The world saw perfection and rather than believe perfection, it struck Him down and brutally murdered Him. If the world does this to perfection then what chance does anything less have? Not much, unless you realise that the very same perfection rose up, defeated that death, defeated all the sins and destroyed it forever. And through faith and by God, that perfection can reside in you.

If you believe the LORD Jesus Christ, then you believe in the one who sent Him. Since you believe this, you have received the Holy Spirit. Since you have received the Holy Spirit, you are a temple of God. God and all His power resides in you. Your power to overcome is within.

1 John 4:4
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

You cannot run from God, because He follows you to make sure you are protected, because you are loved, so much more than you sadly realise right now. Deserving love is the wrong way to look at it, because its based on a lie. That lie is that the love must be some how earned, but that is not so. When a baby is born, does it have to earn the love that is instantly poured on to it? The love the LORD has for you is unconditional and perfect, because you are NOT your mistakes. You are NOT your sins.

Forgive yourself because the one who truly decides the fate of all has forgiven you. And once you forgive yourself, you will know I AM innocent.

:) hi... think really think on.. where does this desire to as you said "reconnect" come from? Yeah He never left you. He never once condemned you when you fell when you sinned. He never judged you. Every time if you could see huge smile reaching down picking you up and for Him that has never once as we say "gets old". See its not Him tossing your sin at you its the enemy. If you again see Him He would say "thats why I died".'

In collage hmm 1980.. on the radio this preacher said "I don't think anyone has fallen as much as me. Just get up dust off keep going". Sin in this world always has a price and what sin does is keep us from Him puts up some hedge between us and gives the enemy a open door if you will. The hardest thing for me is forgiving your self. He already has. You are in right standing righteousness not because you never sin. Even if you never did you are still unrighteous worthless rages. You believe in trust in Jesus Christ that is why you are righteous. So tell Him you miss it you goof up.. and don't give room to the enemy with these lies. He never does this to you.. never ever makes you feel bad feel guilty worry fear doubt. Search on the "fruits of the spirit" that is how He moves.

And if we all walked by how we feel? Yeah we all at times feel just exactly like this but its faith.. knowing no matter how we feel He first loved us never gave up on us and something something wonderful is going to happen for you.. pray read His word.. KNOW He loves you...

Quit worrying about yourself. Have you done worse than King David? Do you not know the power of the blood of Christ to remove sin as if it never happened? By the way, you cannot get away from God. Wherever you go, He is there (psalm 139).

You can approach God only on the basis of the precious blood of Christ. Cloth yourself in His righteousness. You need to know that you died with Christ and God no longer looks at you in isolation. "For you died and you life is hidden in Christ with God". (Colossians 3:3)

One well known preacher said that if God had a refrigerator, He would have a magnet with your picture on it. I disagree. God has a picture of Jesus overlaying the picture of you and me.

Learn what grace and mercy are. Grace is God doing for us what we cannot do for yourselves (In a word, everything). Mercy is God not doing to us what we deserve.

If you are conscious of your sin, that's a good start. However, do not stay there. God's heart is revealed in the parable of the prodigal son. He is waiting to welcome back any repentant sinner. Read the story. Note that God did not make any demands on the returning son. There was no rebuke, only celebration. The father restored the son. And God is only too willing to do the same for you.

Thank you everyone for all these amazing words of hope. Initially the guilt used be very deep and i used to weep and pray very emotionally but when I think of now i don't think i have the deep guilt i used to have before rather I feel so drifted away from him as the guilt lessens i feel like I am settling in ease with my sin. I can't be honest with anyone I feel like I am living two faced life. I feel like i am different person in front of lord during prayer and a different one while i am not praying. I have stopped praying i mean now adays i go on with my day without starting it with prayer and reading bible. Earlier it used to be so heavy when i used to miss a single day. the urge which used to be so strong to return is fading and i know that's not at all a good sign i shouldn't let this happen. I feel so dirty and impure when i try to sit with him in prayer.

No matter how you feel, do not let Satan rob you of the joy of your salvation. I had a few days when I was in utter despair. My marriage had broken up, I lost my children and life to me was no longer worth living. The the accusations piled up. Satan is the accuser of the brethren.

In the midst of my distress, the Lord reminded me of the power of His blood. It silences the accuser as the blood of Christ removes sin as if it never happened. Imagine going to court and the prosecutor seeks to condemn you before the judge. The judge asks, "What is the charge?" The prosecutor looks at his charge sheet and it is blank!

That is the simple truth. All God asks of us is that we are honest and confess our sin. Do you feel forgiven? Maybe, maybe not. What does God's word say? That has to be your foundation for life. We live by grace, not by how well we behave. What is grace? In reality, it is the life of Jesus within us, doing in us what we can't do ourselves. "Prove it." I hear you say. OK..........

Ephesians 2:8 "By grace we are saved". Romans 5:10 says that we are saved by His Life. If you can see that Jesus is within you to live in place of you, then you are on the road to victory. Jesus pleases God, Jesus obeys God, Jesus loves God, Jesus is all that you should be but cannot be. Ask Him to live out His life, in you, through you and in place of you. That's the life that He came to give us. (John 10:10) So many miss out on God's best because they try to live the Christian life themselves. Don't be one of them. I know the difference. It's heaven or hell on earth. I had enough of hell!
