This may seem weird, but I have been technically single for my whole life, since you can't really count k-2 grade as a dating/relationship type deal. For me though I have ask a few not many girls out, the last girl I ask out was when I was younger like 15-17 years of age. I got rejected in a harsh way of a lie as she went and told me she had to wait until she was eighteen to date and then she was dating someone already even though she told me that she was suppose to be eighteen... but I feel like since that happen, I kind of feel like it is impossible for me to talk to girls on any behalf, there is no churches around here that I feel comfortable around. I join the site christianmingle to check it out. But it is like all the sites that I have seen, it focus too much on the pictures and not the chatting realm. I seem to be able to take small talk and turn it all about me recently and I kind of feel awkward anymore trying to make decent conversation with someone I meet at work (not who I work with.) But it seems that the rejection has stuck in my head every since then, and I kind of in a place in my life where I want to start dating.. .Any advice to even start talking to someone?)

Considering that you only need one yes to start a relationship you will encounter a lot of rejection. Have you done a bible study on relationships, marriage and love? To be ready to start on your quest for the "one", you do need to be prepared and studying the bible is a basic step in that direction. Have you been praying for her to come into your life? Staying close to God and trusting in him to bring her to you when you are ready is a big part of it. You also have to have patience but not give up in looking for her.

I tried Christian Mingle also and didn't get anywhere with it. The men either wanted perfection or wanted sex but I didn't give up. I kept looking. I had greater responses with Zoosk and ended up meeting a man who is on the same page morally and a man that is growing in Christ. I still want to rush it but God has taught me thru bible study that I need to let the man lead the relationship and to have patience. I need to sit back and enjoy getting to know him.

I pray you continue to grow in God and that you find her when God deems you ready.

Just focus on Christ being the center of your life. Everything else will fall into place in the right time. I know that sounds too simple but He is all we need if we never get anything else we want.

Stay close to God and keep the faith. Have you tried reading books on relationships? You will be surprised as to the vast wealth of info you can use to assist you. It sounds as though your self-esteem has been battered and need to be replenished. Please remember there are many types and groups of women out there, and you need to find those few groups who are interested in you. It sounds as if you haven't found those groups yet. IMHO, out of ten groups of women there is probably one or two that are a good match for you. In theory most men & women have a tendency to keep dating or remarrying those individuals who are not a good match for them.

IMHO that part tends to happen when you don't rely on God to be the center of the relationship and to lead you. Just trust in God and find a woman who also trusts in God, loves God and wants the right kind of relationship. Don't rush into anything without the leading of God.

Thank you so much for your help, and so forth, is there any particular chapters/particular books to read for a bible study?

A clear rejection is always better than a fake promise. Just be positive even in facing rejection because a positive attitude will always give you positive results.

I would start with Ephesians. Titus is also good. Corinthians...You need to study on marriage, relationships, love and sex (yes you need to study God's views on it). God's love and the way we are to love is through out the bible. If you want to study on topics and don't have a concordance, use biblegateway.com. I love that site. You can search by verse, key word, topic...and they have several different versions of the bible.

All men get rejected at some point. Even the following: Brad Pitt, Clark Gable, Michael Fassbender, Cary Grant, Sean Connery, and, as hard as it is to believe, Bill Clinton.

When you realize that the "sexiest" men in the world get tossed aside too, you feel pretty liberated.

At least I do anyway.

You can GIVE without LOVING. But you can't LOVE without GIVING.

My advice, examine yourself into this. Then PM me what the SPIRIT wants you to achieve.

I read your past threads. I replied before to one of them. As for for my opinion, you can't give something what you don't have. What will you offer? Do some inventories. But God is the ultimate ONE that can understand you better.

Rejection?, Jesus is our Lord of our emotion. How did HE respond to bountiful of rejection? If you'll ask me. I have been rejected many times by my so-called friends and my flesh and blood. Should I give up? But if that is God's way of molding you to be like Christ, would you reject our God?

Honestly, we keep on rejecting God. So, who first committed the rejection? The people around you, or YOU?

Again, these are just my views. I don't know that much about you and your situation. I suggest you ask God to reveal what's hindering you from possibility of a good relationship with someone.

God bless.

I used to get rejected a lot, and the more I was rejected, the more I feared rejection, and took it badly when it happened. And the longer this went on, the more I feared women, the less confident I got but the more desperately I wanted a relationship. So on the cycle continued.

Eventually I realized I had to learn to break that cycle, and I started by thinking about a few things:

1. If a woman rejects you, it says more about her than it does about you. This is always true, for it was not your decision to reject yourself, but it was her decision to reject you. Thus, whatever reasons for her rejection are in her mind, not in yours. Don't make it about you not being 'good enough', make it about what it is; she is a person who rejects, for her own reasons. Don't project it onto yourself. Do not try to 'live up' to her standards, because those are idealizations in her mind that make her 'perfect man' an idea; not a tangible reality. Most women get to a stage where they realize having perfectionist expectations is a recipe for disaster. Don't let her immaturity make you bitter.

2. The negative feelings associated with rejection are only possible when you consider yourself the inferior party. Learn to think about it in a different light. If a woman rejects you, it's her loss, not yours, for she was unwilling to give you an opportunity to make her life better. I mean, isn't that why we ask someone we like romantically to be part of our lives at all; because we want them to be happy and are willing to make that a reality?

3. Stop feeling guilt and shame. You do not need to be ashamed for being sexually attracted to someone who does not want what you have to give. There is no shame in that, at all. You are a young man, a human being, a creature of interdependent circumstance, part of a species who relate to other humans constantly, who are family beings, beings of social connection and who place such value on coupling and reproduction. What you feel towards women is natural, and you have nothing to be ashamed of.

4. Remind yourself about these things. Realize people like to say their decisions are about 'outside influences' as though the world compelled them into making such decisions; 'I had to', 'I had no choice'. The truth is, every decision anyone ever makes is a representation of their own cognition, their own views, their own perceptions and their own thoughts. Her thoughts that led to rejecting you are not a representation of you, they are a representation of her.

Here is the story or sort of the story; When I was young kid both of my parents where really both heavy drinkers...As I grow up I always would receive a bible in the mail (snail mail) I use to read or I thought I did as well as I thought I was an alien from Mars. But in reality my dad was really never there for us, and my brothers. As we grow older he had cheated on my mom a few times. As the years went by, my mom was never married to my dad but did get married to her now husband, our (brothers and I) stepfather/dad. As the years continued to went on i always had a christian heart, and thought process of living righteously, but some reason I always still felt like I am really lost and still to do this day.. I had gone to church when I was younger, and had gone their for awhile. As the friends I had there and where starting to create a rap group called, CCG, which was suppose to be an outreach group as well. As I moved we tried to stick together, but I got in a fight(creative differences) as I stated previously in post with the creator of the group and I left the group creating my group which lasted almost not even a day. Then later in November 2009 something overcame where I got into an argument with one of the girls that stayed by my side, and then later on I kind of got too attached to her, and try talking to her when she told me to leave her alone, I apologize to her and I haven't talk to her since, later on my grandma died in 2010 of Jan, and I kind of started to be really depressed. The next year or so, my father was killed by his fiancee at the time over a drunken argument. Later on or that year my grandmother we will call her, on my mom's side passed away suddenly from being sick. It was very emotional funeral. Later on in the few years I felt alone and lost and still feel like I am lost, but not alone. Yet, i know I am saved...So later on in the few years, my father's fiancee (spell check) is in jail, my mom wrote a letter to lighten her sentence basically stating she did in self defense/accident. This is where my relationship with the whole father's side of the family went up in smoke. So now I have no relationship with my aunt's and uncles as well as cousins. On this side, so I kind of felt left out. So I am in that point where I feel like I am still lost, and alone, yet my heart says no you are not? I am not sure what does save mean, I feel like I am saved, but yet I don't get it, I feel like I still looking to be saved?

So this is what I am trying to wonder...

Milo,

If you believe that Jesus was God and human at the same time, and came down and died for your sins, so that his blood could cover you and so you could be saved and spend eternity with him, and you choose Jesus as your one and only savior, then yes you are Christian, you are saved.

However, it sounds to me like you do not know who you are in Christ. You need to learn who you are in Christ. Is there a church group or an individual who is deeply in love with Christ that can teach you more about this?

Once you know His promises for you and spend more time with him... Building a stronger foundation and deeper relationship with Him, it will affect all of your perspectives... Including your self confidence when it comes to meeting girls. It sounds to me like you are allowing rejection to identify your worth instead of allowing the blood of Christ to define your worth.

You are worth it. You are valuable. How do I know this even though I don't know you? You were worth enough for Christ to choose to come down and die for you. That's how much He loves you and it tells me how much I should love you as a brother in Christ.

I think it will be difficult for you to find the right girl until you figure this piece of the puzzle out. Once you know who you are in Christ, you will be more confident and this will also change girl's perspective about you. They will realize that there is something different about you... And the right girls, hopefully, will be more attracted to you as well. :)

So I think... Start with Christ first... For now...
