If one returns to willful and habitual sin and stays in that condition, then his/her first words of repentance wasn't genuine to begin with.

How can you know that? Do you have a couple of scriptures that we could discuss supporting this?

1 John 2:
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. [SUP]17 [/SUP]And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.[SUP]18 [/SUP]Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[SUP][c][/SUP] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. [SUP]19 [/SUP]They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

[SUP]20 [/SUP]But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.[SUP][d][/SUP] [SUP]21 [/SUP]I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. [SUP]23 [/SUP]Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Yes, some children are stubborn.

Yes, even some of Gods children. And some never grow up to be mature

Causing 'suffering' is what I mean also. I agree with you that not all 'discipline' is for bad behavior and can be used as a teaching aid. The focal point of that statement was 'the purpose of disciplining/tutoring a child'. We discipline/tutor our children to show them the path we desire for them to be on. What happens, then, if they never learn our ways, but remain stubborn, always being lead astray by their heart?

Then they remain children, Never grow up. lead disastrous unfulfilled lives.

But they will still be our children

What Scriptural example are we giving of a person with a persistent stubborn heart who refuse to be taught a certain path and the final consequence of not hearkening (hear and obey) to the guidance of the one attempting to show that person what path to walk?

For this reason. Many sleep (physical death).

1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.

In both of these statements, Physical death is what is being spoke of. Not spiritual death.

ehm, sir, I am saved, that's the true.I really am.
dot.
but I can not vouch for others. (except my family, maybe)
and also I can not agree with you in case impossibility of loosing salvation. Not to concerns me, I have no doubt, but others.

ok, I see that united brothers artillery boarded ahead ..so Im back in my line
sorry sisters...

be blessed

Well I didn't mean to make you sad.

Just trying to encourage, you and others, through the truth of scripture.

I greatly love these verses and agree that God puts the desire to do His will upon a saved person's heart. But, what about those angels whose existence was to do that will, but nevertheless, rejected that will on their own accord?

What about them?

We are not angels in heaven.

Whatever we say about them is pure conjecture. Pretty much the same thing as people saying you can lose your salvation.

Fear is a pretty good motivator. Love is way better, imo.

in this chapter is John talking about antichrists, not about christians, so it is different case and therefore it will not stand as an argument or an answer to alligator

He is talking about people in the church who claimed to be christian. And then left. and went back to their sinful ways.

They were not antichrists in the church, because john declared they were part of the church. No person who did not believe in Christ would be allowed to be part of the local church.

so try again

Its ok sir, I am not sad :)
but I think my sisters may feel hurt by...hm..I mean not by you...
...anyway
I think that we should be respectful to older's...
anyway, I didn..

be blessed:)

but John believed that they were antichrists, see vers 18?
and alligator was talking about something different...

do you think a person who lives in sin and has left the church is for christ or against christ

In addition to the one who stole who is now under grace, he comes under the conviction of the Spirit and should restore back what he has stolen (and then some). If he does not he will grieve the Spirit and will not be able to grow in grace until that is taken care of. He does this by faith in response to the conviction he received from the Spirit.

The issue is can the Christian NOT repent and NOT restore back what he stole yet still not be lost?

Vernon said:
It is not a matter of repentance vs eternal security, those who repent and believe the gospel are born from above and have eternal security. Those who refuse to repent and believe the gospel will be destroyed and receive what they desire 'eternal separation from God'.

So if the Christian refuses to repent he will be destroyed and be eternally separated from God?

lol.. So I guess no one was saved before Christ came.

The law of Christ is the law of moses. (not the ten) We are saved no by works of righteousness which we have (will or are) done. But by the washing and renewal of the HS.

But hey, if yuo want to true to earn a grace gift (thus canceling out the gift) Feel free

The fact you sin proves you are under law.

No verse says God's grace is unconditional. Can one receive God's grace WITHOUT conditionally believing, Jn 8:24? No. Without conditionally repenting, Lk 13:3,5? No. Without conditionally confessing Christ, Mt 10:32,33? No Without conditionally being baptized, Mk 16:16? No. Without doing good works, keeping Christ's works - walking in the light and be faithful unto death, Eph 2:10; 1 Jn 1:7; Rev 2:10;26? No

If you do not agree that God's grace is conditional upon these things, are you willing to argue then that the unbeliever, the impenitent, the denier of Christ, those in their unforgiven sins are saved?

I agree and will add that chastening leads to the peaceable fruits of righteousness when a child is submissive to the chastening and aware of why he/she is being disciplined!

The same as discipline does for a child. Imagine if God just allowed us to continue to do the things which would harm us, and never disciplined us? We would be like the world never knowing wrong from right.

Maybe they do something once to often, and end up killing themselves doing it?

The fact you sin proves you are under law.

No. The law proves I still sin, Thus proves I am worthy of condemnation apart from Christ.

lol. Jesus said it best.

It is the WORK OF GOD THAT WE BELIEVE IN THE ONE HE SENT. (john 6)

Our salvation is WHOLLY a work of God. if it is our work whatsoever it must be earned, thus grace is out of the picture.

There are no work in grace. period.

You do not even know all the sins you commit. so how can you be penitent of those sins?

1 Jn 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

As long as the Christian CONDITIONALLY continues to walk in the light, Christ's blood continues to cleanse away ALL sins, sins I may unknowingly I committed.

So salvation for the Christian is CONDITIONAL upon his walking in the light.

No; someone who is lost, was never saved in the first place. Paul to the Philippians says, in chapter 1, 'He that hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ'.

There are two sides to salvation:

1) God's faithfulness to man
2) Man's faithfulness to God

Eternal Securists are careful to pull out of context just the verses that speak about God's faithfulness to man and wrongly claim that God's faithfulness is because of "eternal security" yet they purposely ignore the verses that speak that man must be faithful to God. No verse says God will remain faithful to those that become unfaithful to Him.

If I had a nickel for everytime Jn 10:28 has been pulled out of context by the Eternal Securists (ES). The ES says, "see the verses says "neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand".

One may ask "why does God not let any man pluck them out of HIs hand"

The ES is quick to respond "eternal security" and thereby adds and forces that into the text.

Yet verse 27 tells us "who" God holds in HIs hand and "why" God does not let them be plucked out of His hand and it has NOTHING AT ALL to do with the man-made doctrine of eternal security.

Verse 27 Jesus says "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;"

Jesus said MY sheep. So the qualification to be one of Christ's sheep and be held in God's hand is "hearing" and "following" Christ.
1) both verbs hear and follow are Greek present tense denoting an ongoing, sustain action, not something one does just once or sporadically
2) people hear and follow by choice, therefore one can quit hearing and following by choice.

So those that God holds in HIs hand that cannot be plucked out are Christ's sheep, the ones that are faithful in their hearing and following Christ. Yet one can quit being faithful inhishearing and following and remive himslef from God's hand. Again, nowhere does the any context say God will be faithful to those that become unfaithful to HIm.

So we have both sides of the salvation equation: (1) man's faithfulness to God in his hearing and following Christ and (2) God's faithfulness to those who remain faithful in hearing and following Christ.

God's faithfulness is in no way unconditional...God will not remain unconditionally faithful to those who become unfaithful to Christ in their hearing and following.

Another example is Phil 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ"

The ES pulls this verse out of context and claim God will performs this work unconditionally because of eternal security.

Yet verse 5 says "For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now"

They had remained faithful in the gospel from the first day until now, so God is faithful to continue to perform that good work in them.

So again we have both sides of the equation:

Man's faithfulness in remaining in the gospel
God's faithfulnness in performing that good work in them

As long as they remained in the gospel Paul was confident God would perfom that good work. Had they fallen away, outside the gospel God would not have continued that good work unconditionally.

Those in Galatia had fallen away from the gospel, Gal 1:6 and that unfaithfulness led to their being "fallen from grace" Gal 5:4

No unrepented sin will enter heaven. So if the Christian does not repent, he will be perish, Lk 13:3,5.

well good luck in hell.

Because it is impossible for you to know every sin you have committed, are committing and will commit.

Would say I will see ya then, But unless you repent of your works. I will not see you. I will be enjoying my time with my Lord And Savior Jesus Christ.

So how many times have you been saved and or lost your salvation?
