I wouldn’t say that my eternal security means that I don’t have to do repent anymore.

...because salvation for the Christian is CONDITIONAL upon his repenting of his sins.

So the purpose of this thread is to show the man made teaching of eternal security conflicts/contradicts the bible's teaching on repentance.

Salvation is not unconditional as eternal security wrongly says but is conditional upon repentance.

I post this topic on various forums and watch the faith only crowd either try to redefine repentance or try and find a way to have the impenitent impossibly saved.

well good luck in hell.

Because it is impossible for you to knoe every sin you have committed, are committing and will commit.

Would say I will see ya then, But unless you repent of your works. I will not see you. I will be enjoying my time with my Lord And Savior Jesus Christ.

No doubt...it amazes me how many people will take Ecclesiastes 3:14 which states clearly that what ever it is God does is eternal and then YANK IT OUT OF CONTEXT TO TEACH THEIR MAN MADE HERESY and say that means everything except salvation.....what a farce!

well you would be wrong. A person who repents to salvation repents of who he is and stops trying to save himself. And admits sin is sin, and that against everything inside him, and everything we believe about life. Only the gift of God can save us. We can not save ourselves. Help save ourselves. or become worthy of being saved.

The repentance your claiming is impossible. You can't repent of a sin you already agreed was sin..

try learning what the word means. And come out from under the law.

that is how satan works. He twists a few passages, completely ignores passages which would refute his twisted ones. And gets people to fall for his lie with a little truth mixed in.

He has been successful doing this for 6000 years now Just goes to prove how fallen man is, We still fall for his ways

The righteousness of the law does not have the power to save the soul that sins, only the righteousness that came by the blood of the cross can do it and that is the mercy and grace of God in action. It was offered by our Lord unconditionally on Calvary but can only be received conditionally by faith and not through the works of the law. When we turn from our own works and trust in the work of the cross by faith, then we have truly repented and received the gift of eternal life that keeps us from perishing. Our sins were put on Jesus Christ's account and were all judged through his death and buried with him. Then on the third day he resurrected without sin that he might ascend to the Father. We now are justified and have his life by faith and have been saved unto the uttermost through the eternal redemption he obtained for us and that is the grace of God.

We do not turn from works, Acts 10:35 those that work righteousness are accepted with God.

One either is doing righteousness or unrighteousness.

Salvation work is absolutely and merely matter belonging to God.
God does not do all the work while man sits and does nothing. God doe not do the work of repenting for man.

Heb 5:9 Christ is the author of salvation unto all them that do nothing??? No, unto all them that OBEY him.

Doesn't it say that those who have entered into his rest have ceased from their works or labors?

God called King David a man after his own heart YEARS before he committed his massive sins of adultry and murder.

If God accepted david before he sinned. there is no reason to doubt God would not accept him even after he committed those grave sins. He already knew he was going to do them before he did them.

The only thing which will exclude you is if you never place your complete trust in him to save you based on his work.

David was very, very repentant and remorseful for his sin, he never acted like his sin with Bathsheba never happened.

and don't you think God knew this when he called him a man after his own heart LONG before he ever called him that.

and that ALL christians are this way??

I like real world examples, examples that hit close to home. Humans seem to relate to that better.
I stole a bunch of stuff from my job when I was in my teens. Every time I would pray for years and years when asking God for forgiveness for other things it would always pop into my mind ''Go tell them you stole from them''

I always brushed that off and thought, this is just a guilty conscience. I don't need to do anything about this.

Well I had left that job and they called me up a few years later asking me if I wanted to come work for them again. That voice came back and said ''Tell them you stole from them.''

So I called them back talked to the owner and said to him'' I appreciate the offer of coming back and I am taking a big risk but I want to let you know I stole stuff from the store years ago. I don't think I deserve to come back and work there.''

The owner said to me '' The store was doing very well at the time and I know everyone was taking stuff home, you are the only one who has ever actually admitted to it and apologized.'' '' If you want to come back and work the job offer is still open''

I repented after 10 years or so. Not really sure if that then excludes me from eternal life. Hope not.

It's GOOD your conscience bothered you.

Those that think salvation is unconditional and cannot be lost under NO circumstance, would their conscience bother them? Why should it?

No. The law proves I still sin, Thus proves I am worthy of condemnation apart from Christ.

lol. Jesus said it best.

It is the WORK OF GOD THAT WE BELIEVE IN THE ONE HE SENT. (john 6)

Our salvation is WHOLLY a work of God. if it is our work whatsoever it must be earned, thus grace is out of the picture.

There are no work in grace. period.
John said sin is transgression of the law. So if there was no law for you to transgress then you would have no sin/transgressions. Law defines what sin is.

In Jn 6 Jesus did not say God does the work of believing. God does not believe for you. Believing is a work that comes from God that God has given man to do.

Jn 6:28 the people asked Jesus "What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?"

Note they asked what work THEY were to do, NOT what work God does for them.

After asking Jesus what work THEY were to do, Jesus did not answer like a Baptist preacher and tell them "do no works else you are trying to earn salvation".

Instead Jesus gave them a work to do; the work of believing.

I am not calvanist. And once saved always saved did not origionate with calvin, It origionated in scripture.

Did you even watch the video? The pastor uses lots of Bible quotes in order to prove that the doctrine is wrong.

Also, I disagree with you that it is in scripture and if you are not a calvanist then that is fine, but you are agreeing with the one part of their doctrine when you think once saved always saved. I would suggest you actually watch the video please. You will learn a lot.

Yes, even some of Gods children. And some never grow up to be mature

Then they remain children, Never grow up. lead disastrous unfulfilled lives.

But they will still be our children

For this reason. Many sleep (physical death).

1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.

In both of these statements, Physical death is what is being spoke of. Not spiritual death.

Some of those stubborn Hebrews never did learn God's way, they were always being led astray by the deception of their heart. I agree with Paul, we should always exhort one another so that we may not be led astray by that heart of disbelief which disguised God so.

Your Brother,

Chris

I responded to this already...look at 1 Jn1:7 where IF the Christian continues to walk in the light then Christ's blood continues to cleanse away ALL, not some, but ALL sins.

So how many times have you been saved and or lost your salvation?
I obeyed the gospel 30+ years ago and have been walking in the light ever since.

Would you like to deal with how eternal securists wrest Jn 10:28 or Phil 1:5?

What about them?

We are not angels in heaven.

Whatever we say about them is pure conjecture. Pretty much the same thing as people saying you can lose your salvation.

Fear is a pretty good motivator. Love is way better, imo.

But, we do know that they were created to do God's will. Yet, some chose not and fell.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and love is known to the one who has God as their Lord. Indeed, their Master.

God made fleshy Israel His chosen, that wasn't eternal for He cut them off (Rom 11) for their rejecting and not obeying Christ.

Everyone, please just watch this video. He will explain everything to you in just 20 minutes from the origination of the "once saved always saved" dogma and as well as using Bible quotes to prove his point.

Enjoy the video.

Jesus said repent or perish. Lk 13:3,5

Rom 2 the impenitent will not be saved.

God forgives those that repent, so if the Christian will not repent God does not forgive. Not a single verse says God unconditionally forgives the impenitent anyway. If a Christian steals and does not repent he will perish

1 Cor 6:10,11 "Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Thieves will NOT inherit the kingdom of heaven..no exceptions.

Well you should read more books...last time I checked ALL ISRAEL will be saved/preserved and we have only been grafted in until the end of the age as their is neither Jew nor Greek as the two have been made one by what Jesus accomplished and both are to be found under the banner of the faith of Abraham as seed and stock of ISRAEL.
