We are saved by Grace, which is Gods unmerited favour. There is more than one meaning to Gods grace for us which i could go on and on about, but for now i want to emphasize one main point of works of grace where instructed to do by God spoken through peter.
Grace is an attribute oF God let us not forget.

being equipped with spiritual giftness
In 1 peter 4:10 we find Peter telling his readers to be faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms, using our gifts to serve one another. God's grace is reflected in our lives through his equipping of believers to serve within the body of Christ; our spiritual gift

So the question based on the above scripture, which clearly teaches us to do Good works is, do you respect doing good works,

What does "Do you respect doing good works" even mean?

Do you respect the person who does good works? Maybe. Have they earned respect, or are they in the process of earning it for the first time, having earned contempt previously?

Do you respect the action of doing good works? Who "respects" actions anyway, as opposed to the persons doing those actions?

Methinks this is a baited question.

Thanks for this post. I think it is important for us to understand works from scripture's point of view.

Our merciful God does not look at our works when God decides on our forgiveness. We are forgiven of any sin we have committed, no matter what, based on our faith. Our work does not enter into this at all. But God looks at the works of all mankind, Christ will return to judge our works as is explained in Rev. 20:10-15. Matthew 16:27 tells us "For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his father, and then he will reward each according to what he has done.

As far as respecting our works, they are only worthwhile as they reflect God in us. It is not what we do, it is what God does through us. Scripture tells us that compared to God they are as filthy rags.

We experience Gods Grace because God is gracious.
When God showed himself to moses in exodus 34:6 we read the lord the lord compassionate and gracious God slow to anger, abounding in love, and faitfullness, Gracious used here is an abjective describing God. It is one of his attributes.

Graciouse the hebrew word is channun in its verb form means to be considerate. to show favor, That God is gracious would mean he is favorably inclined towards us, to do what is best for us. God is gracious, Graciousness is not something that he puts on and takes of depending on the situation, He is always gracious. he does not decide to show grace rather it is who he his, he demostrates grace in everything he does.

God tells us he does not take any pleasure in punishing the wicked and rather all would be saved and come to him. This also another sides of Gods grace which is his mercy. Another side of Gods grace is those who reject him. In his grace he grants the desire to those who reject him.

Salvation is by grace. But Gods grace doesnt end there believers are impacted by grace in three ways.

Justified to stand in grace in rom 5:1-2 paul tells us that we are justfied through faith and by the same faith we gained access in to the grace in which we now stand. Our possition befor God is a matter of grace.
We come into his presence because of his grace and we continue to stand in his presence because of his Grace. In this Grace God show favor to his children everyday. we in turn reap the reward of His grace and show grace and feal grace everyday.

In 2 timothy 2:1 paul tells timothy to grow strong in Grace, which means what ? well it means alot but one of those attributes of grace it to be considerate towards each other as Gods grace is considerate to us. So grow strong in consideration to serve each other and God.

while Gods grace is about much more than salvation, the most visible part of his grace is
Not only do we stand in Gods grace and surrounded by Gods Grace believers recieve a manifestation of Gods grace as written in esphesians 2:5 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions it is by grace you have been saved.

We recieve a manifestation of Gods grace, His Grace is his attribute and his nature, which means we will recieve Judgement all the time from him. his judgement will convict us when we sin, his judgement will make us fear if where about to sin also.
Part of Gods grace is judgement. For our gracious God is a God who will punish the Guilty.

But his punishment of the guilty is not distinct from his Graciousness and love. He doesnt love with one hand and punish with the other. In Ezekiel 18:23 God says that he takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, preferring they turn from there wicked ways and live. Even when his justice demands punishment, God desires to show mercy, and in his grace he is patient toward us, not wanting any to perish 2 peter 3:9.

As a believer then you have to say from time to time having recieved a manifestation of his grace. we will fear his Judgement as that is a part of his Grace.

In another part of Ephesians we are told we are Gods handiwork created in christ Jesus to do Good works that he has prepared in advance for us. I respect christ doing theese works for us.

I respect doing good works for this reason and those who do Good works.
