Darby's dispensationalism was unheard of in the Christian world until Darby invented it in the mid-1800s. Scofield popularized it with his reference bible and the Dallas Theological Seminary filled American churches with its graduates teaching dispensationalism from the pulpit.
Not all people who reject dispensationalism are preterists.

He is responsible for futurism as it pertains to natural Israel. He's not responsible for it's survival, though, because it didn't exist in Christianity from the 1st century to the 19th century. He is responsible for its infiltration into Christian thought.

Joseph as a Type of Christ
