Rather trying to make it fit here, there and everywhere, just listen to Christ Jesus, He makes very, very easy.

"When YOU see all these things..."
YOU 20+ times in the passage.

Yes there were people right there listening to Him.

Anything else makes Jesus a liar, is that what you want?
False. Effortlessly debunked and has been many times

Matt 24~~6 And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains.

14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Today, YOU see that the Gospel is being preached in the vast majority of the world, the early church didn't.

And the Lord Jesus Christ gave YOU another caveat.....
Mat 24:33~~so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

YOU are beginning to see ALL THESE THINGS. The early Church did not........He is near and right at the door.

It's ironic that Pakistan is the one helping them, in the cult's own unique eschatology (cause yes they are also doomsday cult in addition to being a suicide death cult) is suppose to begin by them backstabbing Pakistan and India and totally conquering them in an event called Ghazwa-e-Hind, a peculiar regional variant in Shia islam of central asia it's not actually in Sunni mainstream islam or even other branches of Shia, but peculiar to the IRGC cult and other groups. This conquest of the hindus/polytheists precedes their pseudo-Jesus unironically returning to Israel and making all the Jews become Muslim in order to fight the Dajjal (a satanic antichristlike figure) which in turn is the catalyst for the Mahdi to reappear after dying in the 800s AD to as the final and 12th Imam to defeat the Dajjal and prepare for the further events of fighting Majuj and Juj and, I guess just for good measure perhaps a uniquely Iranian addition of fighting and returned uber villain Alexander the Great, the Dhul Qarnayn whom didn't actually die in Babylon like the rest of all history suggests, nope he's just been sleeping over 2k years and hiding behind a brass wall somewhere in a mountain in the Caucasus in a crazy demon mutant djinn kingdom waiting to break through for the final battle against the Ummah in the later stages of their eschatology.

In light of this I suppose maybe we can overlook some of the preterists heretical and historical transgressions, they really ain't got nothing on the IRGC cult for the full ride of pagan insanity.

The person described in Romans 7 has always been considered until Calvin, an unsaved Jew trying to find justification by the Law. This does not describe the Christian experience of Paul or any other. Sin is not to be tolerated, but by the grace of God, overcome. See Rom 6 & 8.
No, that's not true. The person in Romans 7 is Paul, not Saul as you suggest. The text was written well after Saul was converted and became Paul, a born again Christian.

I'm not sure who taught you that born again Christian can attain sinless perfection in this life. But there are many scriptures which reveal that it's a lie, and if you believe the lie, then you make God a liar. The following are just a few verses, if you don't believe what they say I'm happy to list many more for you.

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

"“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:16

Sin for the believer should be the exception rather than the rule. I agree that we do not achieve perfection in this lifetime. However, victory over sin is possible.

Part of the problem is that Christians are great at fault finding and finger pointing, joining Satan in accusing the brethren. Often, in my experience, it is to divert attention away from their own shortcomings. The answer is not to browbeat or bully, neither is it to ignore or gloss over sinful behaviour. Christians need sound teaching and encouragement as to how they can overcome sin. It is possible. I'm not the same as I was 50 years ago and everyone should be exceedingly glad of that.
1 Corinthians 2:16—"But we have the mind of Christ"—highlights that believers, through the indwelling Holy Spirit, receive divine illumination to understand and embrace the wisdom of the cross, which is foolishness to the unregenerate mind. This "mind of Christ" allows believers to discern spiritual truth over worldly wisdom and is essential to the process of sanctification.

A born-again believer cannot totally stop sinning in this life, although we are empowered to sin less and are guaranteed victory over sin in the final state. There's still a battle between the believer's new identity as a saint and the old nature.

While regeneration gives a new heart and breaks the dominion of sin, the old nature ("the flesh") remains, leading to ongoing temptation and sinning until death.
The passage in 1 John 3:9, which says believers "cannot sin," is saying that a true believer cannot live a lifestyle of habitual, unrepentant sin, not that they will never commit a single act of sin.

The presence of the Holy Spirit does not remove the conflict with sin; rather, it causes it. A born-again person fights sin because they have new, godly desires, whereas they formerly loved sin.
Believers are called to "mortify" (put to death) sin daily, growing in sanctification and becoming more like Christ.

Sin doesn't have dominion over us as it does with unbelievers, we wrestle against sin everyday. The battle doesn't end in this life, so we must put on the whole armour of God every day.

Philippians 1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

Paul is talking about evangelism that he and others are involved in turning out to his salvation. Now he isn't referring to him being saved from damnation or hell. Nor does he feel the need every time the word "salvation" is used to talk about being saved by grace from sin. We are told in Hebrews that we are to go on from the milk of the word to the meat of the word, and that is what Paul is doing here.

20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

No what he is referring to as salvation is overcoming the enemy and magnifying Jesus Christ in His body. When he says "in nothing being put to shame" the enemy was trying to put his ministry to shame. This is all about discernment, and wisdom. Now it isn't about eternal damnation, but the enemy would love nothing more than to bring Paul and his ministry into judgment.

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

This word explains this. An unbeliever would never say this. It requires growth and maturity in Christ before anyone would say this.
From my perspective, Philippians 1:19 is not saying that his evangelism is turning out to his salvation. Because Paul was already saved at that time. So that view doesn't make sense.
God is not only saving His people from the punishment our sins deserve, but He is also doing it for His own Glory.

I'm sure you'd agree that every saved person, wants to share the greatest news in the world with everyone they can. It's the same with good works, we don't do good works and obey God's commands in order to earn salvation. We do them, to show our gratitude because He saved us while we were His enemy and while we were dead in our sin.

In verse 20 Paul didn't know if he would be executed in that prison or if he would eventually be released. So he was making the point that Christ would be magnified through his testimony either way.

I am impressed with your sound knowledge and understanding of the gospel, and your clear-headed ability to articulate it. The people who are resisting you are frauds and imposters.
Our generation is blessed to have 2000 years of Church history, so we can stand on the shoulder of our forefathers to get a clearer view then they had. I have never discovered anything new in the bible, everything I know has been passed down to me by those who went before us.

Our senior pastor gave me some good advice before he died, he said "beware of those who come to you claiming to have found something new in the bible". He was saying that, such people are claiming that nobody else has discovered that knowledge in 2000 years. So they are setting themselves above everyone else.

It's also interesting that there have been many reports of people who were separated by centuries and different continents and some were in very remote isolated places, and yet they all arrived at the same conclusions as to what the scriptures were teaching. You never find that kind of consensus among the denominations and other religions.

I obviously don't read what Joseph Smith, or Ellen White, or any other sect has to say, because they are the on fringes. Likewise I wouldn't spend any time reading any books from the Pope's or Kenneth Copeland or Joel Osteen. So it's also not the majority view either, since they are on "the Broadway" which Jesus mentioned.

Yes true, BUT there are also many people who have read the Bible many times over and then use it for their own personal ambitions,

have been indoctrinated to read it in a certain way this can be worse because they use sophistry and it is very deceiving.
You make a very sobering point. I have come across senior Church Ministers, who have studied the bible for most of their lives, yet they still preach a false gospel.
In Matthew 23:13 Jesus condemns the religious leaders (scribes and Pharisees) for their hypocrisy. The verse highlights that they prevent others from entering the Kingdom of Heaven while failing to enter it themselves.
The Bible describes preachers of a false gospel as dangerous wolves bringing swift destruction upon themselves and their followers, often invoking a divine curse.
Galatians 1:8-9 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
Paul calls down an accursed status—or anathema—on anyone teaching a gospel different from grace alone, even if it were an angel.
Jesus warns they appear as sheep but are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). They are described as bringing "destructive heresies," often exploiting followers out of greed.
They are characterized as deceitful workers masquerading as apostles of Christ (2 Cor. 11:13-15). Their condemnation is not idle and they will face eternal punishment for leading people away from the truth (2 Peter 2:1-10).

Wonderful thank you.

Having said that, did you have an opportunity to dialogue with your pastor regarding his misapprehension of the
terms "predestined" and "predestinated"?

https://christianchat.com/threads/can-we-really-exercise-free-will.218061/post-5631680

You see, if he is legit and possesses a good conscience, he WILL be WILLING to make the necessary course corrections and then teach his congregation accordingly. Do some reprogramming and fix the bugs. Clean out the doctrinal cobwebs.

On the other hand, should he "suppress the truth in unrighteousness", well, he is facing disqualification.
I did email the above post to him, but he hasn't responded yet. He is a full time Minister on a salary, he spends most of his time preparing sermons so that doesn't leave him much time to deal with trivial matters.
I'm sure he will eventually get around to addressing your concerns, but I will see him at both services on Sunday and I will remind him to attend to it urgently (as it's a very serious matter) :(

I'm just an average, garden variety Church Member, and I have found some fundamental flaws in your eschatology. So I imagine he will pick it to pieces and watch it crumble like a house built on sand, when it is subjected to a category 5 hurricane.

Yes it doesn't make sense because your definition of "saved" is not Paul's. You equate "saved" to be saved from eternal damnation. But Paul's definition is much bigger than that. He is attacked during his ministry, Satan is trying to put him to shame and defeat the gospel going out. This is what he means by "in nothing put to shame but to be saved". Paul equates being saved to having Jesus Christ magnified in His body.

One way that Jesus Christ is magnified in us is when we can discern the lies and deceits of the evil one. So when you said I would agree with you that we would not be judged for our ability to discern, I clarified. Your ability to discern will not have anything to do with whether or not your are saved from hell. But it is altogether has to do with Jesus Christ being magnified in your body, and it is altogether to do with whether or not you will be put to an open shame or be saved from that.

You can be saved from hell but then teach according to your opinion, not according to the Spirit and be put to an open shame. Paul wants to be saved from that error.

Absolutely agree. This is war, and what you have wisely pointed out is an aspect of our victory (and emancipation!) by and though Christ. No truth, no freedom!

Jhn 8:31
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Jhn 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Yes it is serious, very much so.
Just think of it: emancipated from the shackles of super-determinism aka Calvinism aka Augustinian error.

Here, let me lend your busy, salaried, denominationally enslaved pastor another lockpick.
Maybe between the both of us we can bust him out of prison?

1. Before Augustine: Biblical and Early Christian Roots

Early church fathers before Augustine (like Justin Martyr or Irenaeus) generally:

Emphasized human free will
Did not teach strict predestination in the later Calvinist sense

The strong deterministic framework isn’t dominant early on.

2. Augustine’s Role (the Turning Point)

Augustine of Hippo (354–430) is where things shift dramatically.

In his conflict with Pelagius, Augustine argued:

Humanity is radically fallen (original sin)
People cannot choose God on their own
God must choose and enable salvation
This choice is not based on foreseen merit

This is the first fully developed doctrine of predestination in Christian history.

However:

Augustine did not teach “double predestination” as strongly as later Calvinists
He still held tensions (e.g., mystery, partial universal grace language)

3. From Augustine to Calvin

A thousand years later, John Calvin (1509–1564) builds directly on Augustine:

Takes Augustine’s ideas and systematizes them more rigorously
Develops clearer doctrines like:
Election and reprobation
Total depravity
Irresistible grace

This becomes what we now call Calvinism.

Calvin himself frequently cites Augustine and saw him as a theological ally.

I did listen to Jesus Christ and used Matthew 24:4-14 to identify over 70 historical events from 1914 to the present that fit this pattern. The odds that this is a coincidence is greater than 1 in a quintillion.

Here is the introduction:

(anonymous)

Most people reading the headlines today feel one of two things: dread or numbness. The wars, thefamines, the collapse of trusted information, the sense that institutions no longer serve the people theyclaim to represent — it either generates anxiety or we find ways to stop paying attention.

Jesus predicted this moment. Not vaguely, not in the way that any pessimist might predict hard times. He described a specific pattern — deception, followed by war, followed by famine and pestilence —and he called it "the beginning of sorrows," using the Greek word for birth pangs. Not catastrophewithout purpose. Not decline without destination. Labor. Something is being born.

This document follows that pattern through six waves of modern history, from the World Wars of 1914to the converging crises of today. The first half traces what the sorrows have been building on the darkside of history — the infrastructure of global control that Revelation calls the Beast system, assembledpiece by piece through a century of crisis. That analysis is sobering, because the architecture is furtheralong than most people realize.

But there is a second thread running through the same history, and that is the thread this introductionwants you to notice before you begin reading.

The same World War that killed twenty million people placed a New Testament in the hands of millionsof soldiers and launched the Gideons into an international ministry that has now distributed 2.6 billionpieces of Scripture across every nation on earth. The same Iron Curtain that sealed off the Soviet blocfrom missionary access drove the church underground — where it grew from one million to onehundred million believers in China alone, precisely during the decades of maximum persecution. Thesame internet built as a military command-and-control network became the platform for YouVersion, the most widely distributed Bible in history. The same satellite infrastructure that enables globalsurveillance enables SAT-7 broadcasting the gospel in Arabic into households across the closedMuslim world.

The beast-system's delivery network and the gospel's delivery network are the same network. That isnot a coincidence. It is a pattern that four of Paul's letters — Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, andColossians — equip us to read.

Galatians names the deception in every wave. Ephesians explains the warfare behind the headlines.Philippians insists, from inside a Roman prison, that the things that happen to the church fall out for thefurtherance of the gospel. And Colossians tells us what is being born through all of it: Christ himself, formed in human beings drawn from every tongue and tribe on earth.

(anonymous)

Matthew 24:14 gives the completion condition: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all theworld for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." What follows is a map of how that ishappening — through the very history that seems designed to prevent it.

Matthew 24:4-8 — "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Formany shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of warsand rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end isnot yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall befamines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

Deception → War → Famine/Pestilence → Sifting → Something is Birthed
