It is so easy to focus on what we don't have in our lives, isn't it? In light of the above verse, I thought it might be helpful to focus on what we DO have.
In the seasonal people/Madea video threads, there were discussions regarding the leaves (temporary people) and branches (those who break and run when the going gets rough), and ROOTS. Roots are the people in your life who will be there, love you and encourage you even when the sky is falling. When you're being a jerk. When you do something really stupid and self-destructive. They help you change. They help you grow. They hold you when you need it and shove you when the pity parties last too long. They know when to shut up and when to shine light in your darkness. And they know you'd do the same for them.
