When we fall in love do you think we fall in love with the REAL person or the person we think they are? Do we see their flaws and either love those too or love them in spite of these flaws?

Picture the person you'd most like to be with right this moment. What are their flaws?
 
I like to think I like the REAL person. The most fascinating thing a person can show me is their scars. Scars are cool because often they don't heal pretty, they tell a story about how they got there and the history of the person who holds them. Loving a person around the scars? That is a pretty awesome feat.
 
Honestly, at first I don't see the flaws because I fall into a "pink zone" where everything is beautiful, then I see the flaws but I see them as parts of him that make him human, that make him be who he is. Maybe some flaws will bother me sometimes, but they make love even deeper. I know I have flaws too, I expect him to have them. If he doesn't I will seriously suspect he is a robot. Like allforfun said, the scars tell a story about the person, if they can show you their scars and you can show him yours without fear ,that's something deep and beautiful.
