You raise a valid point.

Perhaps we do settle, but even then, hopefully, we love the one that we settle with.

When I created that thread I was a widower. I can't quite remember my train of thought regarding the hand-me-down reference. That probably was not quite the right wording. Sounds a bit harsh. Maybe a little jaded.

I remarried later in that same year. I don't believe that I settled for someone but rather it was the one that I wanted. Got the right one too. Married JesusLives who is still a member of this site.

Maybe she got the hand-me-down husband. I was in rough shape at the time we first started to PM each other. She must've seen something in me. I believe that God was at work and still is in our relationship.

God is good. This is the loveliest news albeit old news that I have read today! Thank you for your honesty, I didnt notice the date of the thread but it now makes sense when you cleared that up. May God bless you and yours <3
