Scrolling up in chat....Suggestion

I've done that. And i spent 10-15 minute weeding out the parts i was trying to actually report. Thats too much work. And my understanding is mods don't want to have to sift through a complaint, but go straight to it. So just posting the entire thing will the mod even bother? Or complain if he does?

I understand, once you copy (presumably to a CC mail) you can just bold the lines of text that are pertinent. In the tool bar to the far left is a bold "B". Drag over the lines like you would to copy, then hit the bold B and it will bold those lines. Makes it easy to go right to the pertinent stuff. :)
 
I know about that as well, but it still sends me sifting through all the other lines to find the ones i want. Still feel it would be easier to copy/paste the lines directly if the screen wasn't scrolling down when i scrolled it up.
 
I'm going to bump this thread again, and also say this: While right-clicking on the main chat screen, copying everything, and pasting is ok for reporting something, (since main chat reports are fairly rare), it's slightly less practical if you're AFK for a minute and want to catch up on what was said while you were gone... because while you're pasting and reading in a different window, people continue to converse, and then you miss what was said one minute ago while you're reading what was said 5 minutes ago. Vicious cycle situation.

Since I'm not really a main-screen chatter, most of the time, it's not a big issue for me. But the few times I've returned to my computer and was like, "Goodness, what did I miss?" it was quite frustrating.
 
I know its something PopClick wants done, but you guys should do it anyways. :eek: :D

Yes - "sellect all"/copy/paste is a good quick and temporary solution. But, it would still be very nice if a good permanent solution could be found.

I am a programmer - and estimate that a good solid stable fix for this might be fairly simple - or, it might possibly take a bit of work to do - depending on how the code is written (particularly, the base-level routines that may be used to detect the current scroll positioning in the window -- and, the modularity of the code that call these routines). So, I understand that a significant amount of effort may have to be made...

I don't think anyone is damanding that this be fixed next week - or anything like that --- but, it would be really nice - as time can be allocated to it (knowing that it is not the highest priority, by any means) - if some reasonable amount of effort could be made...

A lot of the time - or, at least, some of the time - it is the "little things" like this that "make all the difference in the world" --- not that this would be "world-changing", but still...

It would be nice to have it work in a completely user-friendly way. :cool:
