I sincerely doubt this will occur, but it would be interesting if we could have a non-christian dialogue section.

I actually would not mind this one bit. The only potential issue is intrinsic to the proposition itself; segregating them. I want to have an exchange with them. I don't want them to feel like they have to sit at the kiddie table while the mature audience engorges themselves on their own worldview.

Thank you, I wouldn't mind it considering we already delegate what we will discuss into categories. Being an atheist myself I certainly wouldn't mind, though hopefully it wouldn't turn into a diss contest from the majority on here to the minority there. I was that on an Islam forum regrettably.

Seems to defeat the purpose of a 'Christian Chat/Forum' though. There are tons of non-Christian places available, why should a Christian site add another?

I personally don't see the point. There are plenty of atheist and non-Christian sites to post such dialogues. There can only be one reason to suggest this, as far as I can see it; and that is to invite discord. Nothing else to gain from that, if you'd call that gain. The purpose of a Christian site is for Christians to come together and support one another, not to argue with those that don't believe. If there's true searching, that's something different. But to simply have a place where non-Christian's can discuss their unbelief with other non-believer's? Take up space at on a non-believer's site doing that, how bout?

No no, I didn't mean some sort of atheist only place, and not exclusive to atheists, it would be a dialogue between Christians and non-Christians
This entire site is open to dialogue, as long as it remains within the boundaries set by the site.

Yeah if you come to a Christian chat/forum, and hear Christian stuff, you shouldn't be shocked..cuz it's a Christian forum.

I think the suggestion is being misrepresented: It's not to confine them to a pen, it's to give them a dedicated outlet to engage the Christian community on CC. When they post in other forums, those forums are generally saturated with threads from believers. Maybe a non-theistic thread would actually welcome them.

This causes me to feel uneasy. I left a Christian Community run by
a well known Christian organization due to unbeliever coming in and
was so set on proving God created men for men. He was beginning to
say God has changed His mind about the Word, and was saying God
is changing to fit today way of living. In other words, lifestyles. I need
not name them. This went on for 3 years. and it was impossible for
the moderators and every person we could contact there to get him
off. But, it does appear he has been removed. In the meantime the
organization lost members, and financial pledges. 3 years is a long
time for damage to be done to new believers who came and went.
Should christian chat go that direction, it would in my opinion defeat
its purpose. UNLESS the unbeliever wants to know how to be saved,
and learn the Word of God and be prepared for the Coming of the Lord.

This would basically just be a debate forum. No matter what intentions you have, it would be an invitation for non-believers to post threads to prove Christians wrong. Which it would turn into a direct debate thread. The site does not, from what i've seen, accept people coming to this site to discredit or disprove God or Christianity. So it would make no sense to open a forum that would pretty much invite that thinking. From what i can tell this site is not a site intended for debate against non-believers.

Thank you for your kind thoughts, my "fervent", discussions as a non-believer were as fervent as they were when I was a believer, although I'm trying to reach something of a philosophic and stoic as possible when debating something, though I still have a sweet tooth for dripping sarcasm.

I wouldn't mind something. I don't mind any non-Christian/unbeliever being here, although I did come to a Christian site to get away from all that in the world outside, and to freely be able to fellowship with other Christians. But I also feel we have a responsibility to always be available to them if they are interested in learning about Christ and want to question things in order to learn and grow. That is what we are called to do in the first place, to help educate unbelievers and to introduce them to Christ.
My problem is there is a mixture here, where some are seriously here to ask questions, learn and grow and others seem to have simply come on the Christian site just to argue, belittle, bad mouth Christians and call names. I was going to ask and see if there could be a forum just for them, so if they wish to bad mouth Christians/Christianity, then they can go on their own forum and do so amongst themselves. But if they wish to join in the Christian forums, then they need to be respectful and considerate while there.
If they hate Christians so much, then my question is what are they doing on a Christian site in the first place?
There are only 2 reasons why an unbeliever/non-Christian would be on a Christian site....1) to learn, ask questions and grow, 2) to cause trouble.
If nothing can be done, is there any way of screening people better before they join. When signing up we are all asked if we are Christian or not, maybe there should be something added for those who mark not Christian, so they clearly understand they are not to come onto the site for causing trouble and arguing.

This is totally ineffective, though. What's to stop the person from lying? It's pretty much standard protocol in any chat you go on, Christian or not, to not be disruptive. Its posted in all chats rules list. It's posted in our own rules list. But that doesn't stop people from doing it anyways.
Bottom line is there is no way to prevent trouble makers from joining. You can ask them all the questions you want, explain anything you feel is needed, all they have to do is agree, get accepted and do what they came here to do regardless of what box they check.
May I say something? How many volunteered for admins of that section? If there are (there are) perhaps "the section" may serve to clarify concepts, ideas, doubts and to "link" non-believers with TOTAL believers.

Two admins/mods have already commented on this idea. And admins and mods are not open to volunteering, they have to be selected, and then asked to join. Asking to become one is a good way to ensure you won't become one.
