John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

He saw me coming too. I am both far-sighted and near sighted. Not the best visionary combination to have. :)

I take no part in Christmas, for obvious reasons.

Mark 7:9
And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!

That's fine anything we do w/o faith is sin. I personally have faith that many Christians designate Dec 25th to celebrate the birth of Emmanuel with great comfort and joy. 'A thrill of joy the weary world rejoices' a time of concentrated thought on the gift of our Savior.

I would think you accept the Bible as authoritative literature on this matter.
There is nothing in the Bible that I have read that would warrant Christmas. "Do not go beyond what's written" As it says. So is the traditional festivities going beyond what is written? That's a question we must ask ourselves.

Do you celebrate anybody's birthday, anniversaries, 4th of July, Valentines Day, St Patrick's Day, Veteran's Day?

Actually, my vision is not up to par but I was able to read those tiny words. Seeing is believing in the evidence that is unseen. It is called faith. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.
That is most likely the common consensus. Can you please post the chapter and verse, I think that it mentions hope as an intricatel part of the equation

This is one of my favorite verses about faith and hope.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Also, if you can read this...you have a good bit of patience ;)

One of the most unexpectedly humorous first posts I have seen ha.
