hmmmm...I used to be of the school of no sex before marraige..but then I was having sex with myself a lot??..does that count??

then i quit that as well..but...it didn't last for more than a year...

seeings I am a divorced christian...

and I never want to be divorced again..if I should choose to marry again...

I think I will...see how the "sexual chemistry" works before I make that promise of for better or for worse again...

its nice to know your christian guy..is into his one woman as well..and not "secretly gay..or a closet ..panty wearer..."

there are many "deal breakers" for me in marraige now...

and...well..I'm not sure what kind of marraige vows I'd be willing to take again...

or what "alter" I should swear them before...
(it was very guilt ridden getting divorced the first time..not sure i want to make "breakable" promises again..)

so..I guess i will take the lesser of two evils ...in my minds eye..and just get to know what I like and what I want in a physical and spiritual partner

I know there are still many many good men out there..(even the ones who are in sin...have many wonderful characteristics)

and I will never give up hope on men..

(am I nutz..or did God just pick the wrong rib?)

shhh.....I know He didn't...(winks)..< (I know I know..bad joke)

Isd this avatar a real pic??

just curious...as to the avatar..and the response...

may the spirit of christ be your refuge

from the sins of humanity

Yep it's real, that's my dog Cocoa.

My post was a response to what someone wrote that was sorta inappropriate.

God Bless :)

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless your precious dog...

and take it to ....a place where there is no sin..that it may rest in the love of CHRIST..

and know true peace....

It would seem to me that women are the main proponents of waiting, mainly because of the "milk without buying the cow" issue.

In my experience, women who will danlge the carrot of sexual relations as a means of coercing marriage, will later withhold sex for other reasons during the marriage.

This was a bit funny.

In order for a woman to use sex to coerce a man into marriage, one would have to assume a man will marry a woman simply because he wants to have sex wiith her. Who would be the fool in that scenario?

If he marries her for any other reason, like by some crazy chance he loves her, then how exactly would she have coerced him?

so true ^ ... i like the very simple yet..very REAL way you put that across..

thankyou

I gotta say, itd be tempting... I was in a relationship last year and even though we didnt do anythin major, we had those "OH IT WAS IN THE MOMENT" situations .. and obv, sex can be brought on by that attitude I think..I dont know...some people are very very strong. Then theres the weak people who say "we couldnt control ourselves". Self control is quite a significant thing in christian life, isnt it? surely we should restrict ourselves. But now Im getting judgemental so I wont go on...

the line of the Lord's Prayer...

"lead us not into temptation" ....seems to ring true for me on this...

lead yourself not into temptation..

it is natural and human for humans to want to hold and touch..and display affection...

this leads hormones into temptation...

the innocent moments are not innocent..when you know you are playing with fire...

its best to be honest with yourself....and just say..you want to have sex..

then all the "head games"

I have a girlfriend, and I strongly do not believe in sex before marriage.. and we just had a talk last night where she said that she wants me to be open about it, to communicate things.. and I told her that the Word declares that sex before marriage is sin, and lust.. and I don't want to engage in sexual flirting, or anything that can lead to sex because I respect herself and myself enough to not do so. She said back to me that I guess that means we can't kiss.. and I was like, umm ok.. well if you're not comfortable with that, then I understand.. and she told me goodnight.. I don't get why she is upset at me for standing up for my moral values, and what the Word of God has to say.

Sorry if my post is a bit personal, I just feel annoyed over this, like how could she be mad at me for wanting to do the right thing? :/

Make sure that she is actually mad at you before you say she is. Don't go on an assumption, cause that can cause a heck of a lot of confusion. You did the right thing though.

NO!!! I don't even think people should kiss, cuddle, or anything that would lead them to getting all hanky panky. True intimacy can only be truly appreciated in a marriage covenant. That's the way it was designed it to be. God tells us to do stuff for a good reason...I think we should listen.

wow bro. thats good! u did the right thing. amen :]. one thing i can tell you, is that if she doesnt have the same values as you then shes probably not the one to be dating. But she should not be mad. She should understand and you guys should probably talk about the situation a lil bit more. she is christian right?

I agree sex before marriage is nothing but a curse. You can hold up your blessing for such sin.

i started this thread a long time ago, cant believe it is still going...<3

Zeffers, she's taking your words as rejection of her. You need to validate your love for her while you discuss this. When she said you cant kiss, you were supposed to say that you would hate never being able to kiss her.... silly guys, dont know anything lol~!!

Answering no, purely from experience. I know how much sex before marriage messes with people, interferes with their walk with God and disrespects and dirtys the glorious, beautiful, sexy creation that is the human body. Of course restoration is given where needed, but man, I'd give my left leg (literally) to have my virginity back, to have never walked down those paths because the after affects are huge. God gives sex as a blessing, a pure, gorgeous, thing to be celebrated and enjoyed- within the boundaries he created for many reasons, mostly just caring for us. "Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5. Shockingly to us, ha, God does know more than us, and can see the bigger picture. He knows what will bring us lasting satisfying rest, and what will just leave us chasing shadows.

Yeah, true , but I would NEVER do it if I wasnt married. .... the consequences are too hmmm..whats the word, risky? knowing me id get myself into BIG trouble.
But yeah, I know what you're saying.
I salute the christian couples who have controlled themselves many a time.

Really?
427 people said NO,
and more people said yes than yes if committed or if engaged.
Like how many people that said no are single now and young, not devorced or none of that, and know what its like to live now as a young persion.
I wonder how many people said No and have not done it, or arent being fake

I'm sure many of the people who said No are 1) virgins or 2) were virgins before marriage. If they are not virgins and said No I am sure it is because their relationship with God has grown since and they now realize that sex before marriage is a sin. Of course some people who said no may be "fakes" as you labeled them, but that does not mean they are wrong. People can know what the right thing to do is, but choose to do the wrong thing anyway.

We all sin, but that does not mean we are disqualified from saying what sin is.
