It takes faith to tithe (gross). Every time you get paid are you going to believe that God’s Word works...that 90 percent with God’s blessing goes further than 100 percent without?
well, how we would we know?
I'm almost certain that you are the only one here (almost certain) who is buried in Jimmy Swaggart Bible which takes great liberty to interpret scripture according to Swaggart himself
you refer to that text as though it was the word of God but it is really the word of Swaggart who draws conclusions no one else ever has
for example, Swaggart has concluded that heaven is a planet north of earth. seriously...this is what he writes in his personal Bible that you refer to. as follows:
everyone should note that in the Swaggart edition..he calls it the Expositor's Bible..the words in red are...wait for it...Swaggarts. above it can be seen that Swaggart decides heaven is a planet north of earth because that direction is not included with the rest.
so in other words, Swaggart INTERPRETS something, in the OT (Psalm 75) not mentionned anywhere else and decides that heaven is north. would someone please point out what north would be in the vast universe?
from his Bible: II Corinthians 12
at any rate, Paul says God's heaven is the 3rd heaven, with our own atmosphere being 1, the universe being 2 and God's heaven outside of those. it would also be helpful to remember that the Bible also states that the universe will be burned up so when that happens, will there be a great cosmological Fire Station to put it out?
Swaggart also says God has a body and the Holy Spirit has a body too. from Exodus:
I guess you can snicker about the planet heaven and raise your eyebrows at God having a body when it is clearly written in scripture that He does not have a body, nor does the Holy Spirit.
however, the Expositing Swaggart is non-stop throughout his prodigious exertions to create his better understanding of the word of God. they are better, of course, because Swaggart has a better understanding of the gospel than the men called by Christ personally as evidenced below in another 'clip' from his exertions
his thoughts on Paul:
so, umm, yeah. Paul did not know what he was talking about. enter Swaggart who also believes he is the only one who has the better understanding
IMO, there is a demonic spirit behind this nonsense which is contagious if one accepts it
your business then becomes the Swaggart mission of demanding everyone see it your way; or perhaps Swaggart's way would be more appropriate
there is no way the Holy Spirit is teaching this nonsense, and since the Bible, NT, clearly reveals there are doctrines of demons, I do believe we are seeing some of them in Swaggart's painful revelations which are outside of any accepted doctrine of God as revealed through those God chose and had write the 'once and for all delivered truth' most of us espouse
and this is the difficulty of trying to reason with someone who has sold himself out to this strange and not wonderful teaching known as 'Message of the Cross'
