I think we should. That system is what Christ fulfilled and made perfect. It explains in secular terms what Christ does for us, but Christ does so much better than that system did. It is in Leviticus 1-17.

It throws light on what Christ fulfilled.

I found it interesting that Christ will forgive sins we do not realize we are committing. I haven’t found that in the new testament telling us of all Christ does for us, have you?

We should always remember that the Bible is one cohesive book from the mouth of God. Therefore, all that God teaches us about forgiveness of sins in the Old Testament applies equally in the New Testament.

Psalm 103:12 (KJV 1900)
As far as the east is from the west,

So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Here is another passage that helps us to be sure that God has forgiven all of the sins of those whom he has saved.

Hebrews 8:12 (KJV 1900)
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

That comes from:

Jeremiah 31:34 (KJV 1900)
.... For I will forgive their iniquity, And I will remember their sin no more.

definitely a huge benefit to help understand the gospel in studying not only the sacrifice but every element of the law which was a foreshadow ofnthe true things Christ brought forth

The best way to understand how the old covenant laws apply sacrificial , the priesthood laws and ordinations dressings and services ,Moses the mediators role in the law all
Of it is a foreshadow an earthly example of the true things in Christ

the best way is to study the New Testament writings regarding and teaching us how they apply in figure and teaching

to study the law of Moses will give any Christian insight into what the apostles were explaining look into the priesthood laws also d check out Hebrews it has a lot regarding the relation of old and new covenants it’s explained so we just have to hear and believe

“Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:1, 6-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hebrews seems difficult because we don’t study the old covenant laws. It can be understood if we study the law looking back from the gospel and through the epistles of Peter John and Paul

notice how Christ doesn’t serve on earth , but the ot was a pattern of the true things to come in Christ a foretellings by figures and examples and prophecy. Ot was foretelling the gospel that would come at the apppinted time the law is immensely valuable if we understand were born of a new covenant , that the old covenant was foreshadowing

Nope. I've scoured the Bible word for word, cataloging all passages regarding unintentional sinning. I haven't found it to be mentioned in the NT (yet). But to answer the more full question, what, exactly is "all" that Christ does for us?

In my estimation, what we all should be aware of are the four basic, core elements of His "Work." Without knowing these four elements, possessing Salvation is nearly impossible.

Jesus:
1) Circumcises the Heart of the Curse of the Lord
2) Grants the ability to Turn and Repent
3) Sends the Gift of the Holy Spirit
(The three above were completed in the Old Testament (for the True Saints)
4) Died on the Cross to pay the debt for sin, thus finally making "us" Right [with] God

1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1: 9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we walk in the light that we have received, which is progressive, cleansing is ours for sin that we are not aware of. When we confess what we know to be sin, God also cleanses us from anything else that is unrighteous.

How can this be? When we are obedient to what we know, it demonstrates to God that we have the right attitude. If we knew that something was sin, we would confess it. If we are ignorant, God looks at the blood shed for all our sin, failure, defeat and for everywhere we fall short of His glory. We need to remember that the blood was shed for God, first and foremost. The blood of the Passover lamb
was applied to the outside of the door frame of the house, where God could see it. We have little idea just what the blood means to God.

An interesting and edifying study is to see what the blood of Christ has won for us. It is much more than forgiveness of sins.

Perhaps this may help.

Leviticus 5:17 (KJV) 17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

If one is under the law, then what you have posted is final, however Jesus Yeshua has taught that a law must possess mercy justice and more. Mercy is indeed missing here, ine this particular law cited.

Blik you seem obsessed with the Law. Every one of your posts, in some for or fashion, concerns the Law. Yes we can benefit from understanding the Law; but an in-depth analysis and understanding of every jot and tittle is not necessary to understand the grace we have in Christ.

We're under grace, not Law.

Every human being who is not a true child of God is under the law. We are only dead to the law if we have been truly born again. This law and every law in the entirety of the scriptures serve to teach us this.

Romans 7:1–6 (KJV 1900)
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

The law of the Old Testament could never have been kept perfectly, which is what God demanded, perfect obedience. Thus, the law only brought forth fruit unto death, that is, it condemned us. That is why salvation could have only ever been by the mercy and grace of God and not by us trying to keep any of God's laws in order to become righteous.

The elect became dead to the law through Christ because he paid for their sins and bore the penalty of the law which was death on their behalf. The rest of the world remains under the curse of the law and pay for their own sin by their own death.

Been there a few times in my fp
years of Bible. Go ahead and think as you will, for it is all we are able to do.

Speaking in tongues would seem to be a way that one's unrecognized sin could be dealt with. According to 1 Cor. 14:2, the believer is verbally expressing things to God, and vice versa, without an awareness of what is actually being said. However, those who speak in tongues are confident that the connection made has a specific purpose that only God knows and is for personal edification according to verse 4. The interactions result in edification designed to bring about God's purposes for the individual as well as those they will help in connection with God's purposes.

amen each person is accountable for what they know not what everyone else knows

“And that servant, which knew his Lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:”

I think we should.
There is no need to study it. It was valid until the crucifixion of Christ. But after the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, it was abolished.

However here is the sacrificial system on which Christians should focus: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Rom 12:1,2)

Blik wants to keep both covenants going at the same time. I have already told her that that is OPPOSITION to God and Christ. Pure and simple rebellion.

We don't agree on much, Wansvic, but we do agree on this. God will not overlook sin now that we know what sin is.

Whether a believer or unbeliever, sin must be forgiven. For the believer unconfessed sin drives a wedge between himself and God.

The relationship with God will suffer, and if the sin persists, the chastisement of God comes on the disobedient son or daughter until they do confess and repent from that sin. God plays no favorites when it come to sin, that is what hung His Son on that Cross!

Joseph Prince and some others teach the believer doesn't have to confess sin as it is already forgiven. That is a lie, or just ignorance of scripture!

There are several examples of sin not dealt with and what happens if it's not. One that comes to mind is Peter speaking of a husband not treating his wife fairly, and said to do right by her that your prayers be not hindered. This is just the beginning of what He will do.

This is sin and if you don't deal with it God will. He will spank the britches off a child that belongs to Him, if He has to!

We're under grace, not Law.
Obsessed with the law, so is Christ, as most verses of the gospels has to do with how to live in the world but have the kingdom of heaven as ourr home.

To Christ, being a Christian was not something you thought only, it was something you lived. You cannot being under grace unless you repent--that comes first. When scripture tells what Christ came to do the first word of those verses was "repent". Yet you, and many others say to repent of sin is to put yourselves under the law. Scripture speaks of using the law for salvation, and that doesn't work at all.

I follow Christ. Christ is love. Love is not rebellious.
