This is my third day home sick [insert whining here]. :p I promised to stay home and be a good girl if the doc didn't hospitalize me, but the high fever hasn't allowed me to discuss or study anything deep for very long  and I can't call friends or voicechat because I sound like a frog and cough up a lung when I try to talk...arrrrrrrrrgh...[insert more whining here] :( And I think my own dog is sick of looking at me. :D ( I think he, the neighbor's dogs and the bunnies have wild parties in my house while I'm at work)

My house is now spotless (doc doesn't need to know that; don't tell him). I have OD'd on HGTV (collecting thoughts for remodeling the bathroom and my landscaping), read a book, replied on pretty much every feudless CC thread that looked halfway interesting (except the teen forum; not strong enough for the drama :) ), updated my resume (you never know, some great opportunity could come along), slept a LOT cos of the fever, did a manicure and pedicure, found some cool abstract prints online, and then....I was channel surfing (have you SEEN daytime tv??? :p) and found myself watching a special on Jennifer Aniston on E and realized that I have officially hit rock bottom. :D and am now watching Jeopardy's tournament of champions...*sigh* (I may have to reactivate my Facebook account and take the online Jeopardy quiz) Maybe I should check Amazon Direct and DL a movie. :)

So...what do you do when you are sick and single?

Sleep, Eat or Drink *if I can*, play video games, watch movies, listen to music, maybe read something here or there, write some songs, a journal entry, on forums like this, ext...rest, think, pray, play music myself *if I can*...hmm, I guess all the things I do when I'm not sick, really...

- *minus* work, school, and all the other things most people don't want to do...

Hey, wait a minute...maybe I should get sick! lol

I feel for ya, Jules. Hang in there!

I'm gonna go try to eat something (I've lost about 12 lbs in the past two weeks, which is way too much) and play piano for a bit. You have inspired me. :)

Oh no!! :( Definitely try to eat something...and depending on whatever it is, only eat things you think your stomach can handle.

I remember when I was really sick and lost 10-12 pounds in 2 weeks. That wasn't fun. I mean I didn't mind (LOL), but it wasn't fun. =\ considering what I went through the two weeks I was sick and lost weight.

What I would do was mainly sleep and watch a little TV. Sometimes I'd get on skype and IM people. But usually when I'm sick I'm a bump on a log (or a couch :p).

Oh and make sure you take something to keep your fever down. And drink lots!! I didn't drink as much as I should have when I was really sick. That is, if your stomach can handle liquids. I have no idea what you're sick with so yeah if you think certain tips I've given you don't apply feel free to ignore me :D

Netflix. Problem solved. I can netflix whole days away on accident. I mean they have series and movies. Its like tv heaven.

I played piano for a bit, posted a couple more times and watched more HGTV. :)

[Ladies: Have you SEEN some of those handymen on HGTV?? :D ]

Yes, I'm being totally shallow and I'm blaming the fever. :)

The Property Brothers dudes are sooooo dreamy... :p XD

I guess I should count myself fortunate that I'm one of those people who rarely get sick however, I've worked night shift for the last few years and, on my nights off, I often times find myself wide awake at 4:30 am when the rest of the United States appears to be sleeping. There are nights when I simply don't feel like reading another Christian book or listening / watching another sermon. When that occurs I usually find myself on Youtube watching anime, namely Dragonball Z or Prince of Tennis. The sad part is I'm not into MMA or play tennis!.

I was a huge fan of anime in my early 20's when my nephew was a kid and got him hooked at an early age. I had no idea that it would come back to haunt me later on in life. Then again, I never thought I'd be 40 and single either.

Although I am getting pretty darned good at reading subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate being sick and single, cause I want to be babied. :-p I'm going through the same thing this week, glad to know I'm not alone. I just realized yesterday I am getting too much of my worth out of my work and what I can do. God is like nope that is not your worth and I am going to make you have to take some time off to spend with me. So yeah.

It is a good time for reflection. When you spend your entire life working you miss out on these things...

**calls Jullianna's Dr. to rat her out

Honestly, I haven't been seriously sick in my adult life. The worst I've been sick in over 25 years had me home for one day and I was so bad off I slept just about all day. The only time I've been "stuck" at home has been when I've been unemployed so I can relate to getting reaaalllllly bored after a few days.

Brittany: I totally understand. I had pretty much that same conversation with God about 2 weeks ago. I hope you are enjoying your time with Him and that you get stronger in every way soon. :)

Oncefallen: I'm soooooooo glad you're never sick, but :P :P :P on ratting me out

Even though I'm sure you're coveting my immune system.

LOL! Well, it would be great, but I wouldn't wish this upon anyone, Oncefallen. And thank you! :)

I'm much better now. Fever below 100 all day. Will pop into my office for a few hours tomorrow and go see the doc for the followup

Thanks for entertaining me, y'all :D I'm reeeally not used to having to be still this long. :)

nite nite!

:( will pray for you.

And believe me, Jennifer Aniston has NOTHING on you, Dianna!!

Oh this made me laugh. It's not funny that your sick, but funny that you posted about it. I was in the same situation 2 weeks ago and found myself posting more than ever in CC because I was laid up in quarantine lol.

I did pretty much everything you have done with a few extras. I was sick during the olympics, and when I couldn't sleep at night, found myself staring mind-numbingly to the TV screen. It's amazing how many sports I discovered, which I previously never knew existed. I also lodged my tax return online...yeah I sick haha. I HATE doing tax. But, on the upside, I got my cheque (for my tax refund) in the mail yesterday...woo!

Thanks, Gabe :)

Katie: Glad you're feeling better. :) I was going NUTS.

Good news is that the doc says I'm much better, but was too weak to go to the office today. Maybe tomorrow. :) In any event, by Monday, I'll definitely be back in the saddle! YAY!!!!

That day when you're feeling much better but not quite well enough to go back to work is like that rainbow after the storm. Its too bad it only lasts for a short while.

Make sure you take off as many days as you need Dianna because as you well know, pneumonia is a serious matter.

This is my third day home sick [insert whining here]. :p So...what do you do when you are sick and single?

My sympathies, Jullianna, and Lord bless you with swift and complete healing, dear sister! Don't feel too bad about a little whining, it's just good you're not focused on it all the time. That stuff multiplies like bunnies, at least in the little world of "me" it does, lol.

My life changed after some spine and arm injuries, multiple surgeries and some chronic pain and autoimmune disorders, but I still walk, with help, and can see how each of us has so very much to be grateful for, when we choose to look for God's blessings. I'm grateful that I'm not paralyzed, that I can still walk, that I can sing and play the piano, and have been blessed with a wonderful little country church where I can lead worship. As far as you're concerned, you can be grateful that you won't need a flu shot this fall! :D

Something I did with my time, and my desire to be productive, was to teach myself how do to beadweaving. It's complicated enough to keep my mind busy and not get bored too quickly, lol. It also helps with dexterity and I get to play with colorful sparklies too! This summer, I made a tennis-style bracelet using sparkling crystals for a client who always wanted a real diamond bracelet, but couldn't afford it. Of course, I make a few lovelies for myself too.

Anyway, my point is that I get creative. Another thing I've been doing is arranging music for worship. I use some software that the church let me purchase and write lead sheets and accompaniment for songs that I can't find otherwise, or can't afford. Some people can teach themselves to knit, or embroider-maybe a colorful bookmark, or bake something from scratch, or sew a beautiful dress for a special little girl. The best things are those that we usually don't have time to do otherwise, so our sick time becomes special. What a wonderful way to be grateful for illness, huh?

(I did not know you were feeling ill until this hour.)
I will pray for your continued improving health.

(same to you, Katie) :)

I try to read. If I can't read, I sleep. If I can't sleep I turn on talk radio and snuggle with my corgi. Maybe pop in a Monty Python DVD.
