A lot of people have been heavily influenced by calvinism and don't know it because they don't understand scripture.

And whether this is a thread about calvinism is irrelevant
You have obviously been so influenced by Calvinism that you developed stage 4 CDS.

And if you turn away from the Lord walking after the flesh in sin you are no longer saved at that point.

Unless you turn away from your sin and confess your sin to the Lord and be cleansed once again.

The false teachers claim people can live in sin and still be saved, but they are speaking in behalf of the devil

I have never claimed one can continue to live in Sin. Neither has the Apostle Paul. yet was defiantly accused of that
However you choose to do and see is up to you. I stand in trust to my Father, hoping for you, and thank you
God just loves us all, includes you to love all too, thank you

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (Lev 18:22, KJV)

Yes, that may seem straightforward to you, IF you ignore the last verse of the book of Leviticus:

These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai. (Lev 27:34, KJV)

Even for the Israelites, the OT prohibitions are about the male cult prostitution such as in Deut. 23:17-18.

As to Romans 1:26, nothing at all is said about women having sex with women! The only reason people read lesbianism into that verse is because it is the only verse in the entire Bible that would refer to women having sex with women. In v27, that is clearly talking about those males who are "leaving" KJV, or "gave up" RSV sexual relations with females, OBVIOUSLY talking about men leaving wives because they were "consumed with passion", RSV, or "flamed out" in the Emphasized Bible.

To read into 1 Cor. 6:9 the word "homosexual", and believe your translations; you must know why you pick a translation that so totally abandoned the English translators from the 1611 KJV, through the ER, the ASV, the YLT, Alfred Marshall's Greek-English Interlinear of 1958, as well as the RSV 2nd Ed., NRSV, NRSVue, REB. It takes some pretty tough doing to read into a verse a word and concept not used in English until 1900.

I know about the sexual condemnation Paul was speaking about in Rom. 1:27, because a Greek poet in Paul's day wrote about in the very same language as Paul, but in much larger context. It is NOT about simple sex between two males.

From the Greek philosopher Dio Chrysostom (40-110 AD) in The Seventh or Euboean Discourse

Phrasing lifted from text numbered 133 through 152

"In dealing with brothel-keepers and their trade we must certainly betray no weakness as though something were to be said on both sides, but must sternly forbid them...Such men bring individuals together in union without love and intercourse without affection, and all for the sake of filthy lucre...For evils are never wont to remain as they are; they are ever active and advancing to greater wantonness if they meet no compelling check...Indeed, beginning with practices and habits that seem trivial and allowable, it acquires a strength and force that are uncontrollable, and no longer stops at anything...Now at this point we must assuredly remember that this adultery committed with outcasts, so evident in our midst and becoming so brazen and unchecked, is to a very great extent paving the way to hidden and secret assaults upon the chastity of women and boys of good family...The man whose appetite is insatiate in such things, when he finds there is no scarcity, no resistance, in this field, will have contempt for the easy conquest and scorn for a woman's love, as a thing too readily given — in fact, too utterly feminine — and will turn his assault against the male quarters, eager to befoul the youth who will very soon be magistrates and judges and generals, believing that in them he will find a kind of pleasure difficult and hard to procure. His state is like that of men who are addicted to drinking and wine-bibbing, who after long and steady drinking of unmixed wine, often lose their taste for it and create an artificial thirst by the stimulus of sweatings, salted foods, and condiments."

The Internet properly used for searches and study, is truly a "God-send" to the Christian who wishes to keep from following as sheep to those with a bias and homophobic slant.

I've read why some people try to twist God's word to justify homosexuality. I reject such distortions of God's word. Homosexuality is the result of rebellion against God.

God created male and female and blessed heterosexual relationship prior to the fall. If you can find something in the first chapters of Genesis that indicates same sex relationships are acceptable to God, let me know.

Sure, I'm a sheep. I follow the Good Shepherd. He led me away from homosexuality. I was not same sex attracted, but that can change if you are around homosexuals enough. It's a demonic bondage. Jesus came to set the captives free, not to pander to their lusts.

Wrong question, and one brought for by the false teachers being deceived by the devil to deceive others.

Eternal life is only applicable to those who are abiding IN Christ.

Jesus is like Noah's Ark... as long as one is abiding IN the Ark they are saved.

Sinful behavior is throwing one's self overboard and since they are no longer in the safety of the Ark (abiding IN Christ)... they are not longer on their way to Heaven but are once again on their way to hell.... unless they REPENT, confessing their sin to the Lord and forsaking their sin so they can be cleansed of unrighteousness and once again be back in right standing with the Father (see Proverbs 28:13, 1 John 1:9) just like the prodigal son who was dead while away but alive once again when he returned to the Father. (see Luke 15:24-26)

The smart ones know this and abide IN Christ so they aren't cut off as Jesus told us about in John 15 which is what happens to those that do not abide IN Him.

Those that follow false doctrines that ignore the teachings of Jesus... well, not much hope for them and when they get where they are going, they will regret their false doctrine for all eternity!

Either you are born again or you are not. Those who are born again have no love for sin, even if they struggle to overcome. It is of God that I am in Christ Jesus. You are not born again one moment and unborn again the next.

Do you think that God is unaware of our weaknesses? Your obsession with, and condemnation of sin bothers me. You do realise that you will be judged as you judge others.

Jesus is Lord and Saviour. Who are you to judge the servant of another? Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Do you think He can fail? Christians can lose the appearance of salvation. If they die in that state, they will lose eternal blessing and reward. They may be shut out from God's kingdom. But the born again spirit will not be found in hell.

I suspect there would be fewer prodigals if there were not as many condemning older brothers.

"Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, tell him that he is going to hell." That's your interpretation. What it really says is, "You who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted." Galatians 6:1

However you choose to do and see is up to you.

I'm not the one speaking in favor of still being saved even while living in sin.

Those who are born again have no love for sin, even if they struggle to overcome.

And some who get born again turn away from the Lord and are no longer saved even though they were at one point.

1 Timothy 4:1,2
Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron

Notice these folks departed from the faith!

They were born again, and then they turned away and are not longer saved.

2 Timothy 4:3,4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (teaching); but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Jude 1:17-21
Remember the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
These are those who separate themselves
, sensual, having not the Spirit.
But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Your obsession with, and condemnation of sin bothers me.

Then you have a problem with the Lord and His Word as He teaches we should NOT be in sin and if we turn away from Him going back to living in sin (like many are doing in the end times, the falling away) then they are not longer saved.

At that point they must forsake their sin and confess their sin to the Lord to be cleansed of their unrighteousness.

We reap what we sow and those saying we do not are mocking God as they speak in behalf of the devil whether they realize it or not.

You do realise that you will be judged as you judge others.

Yes, warning others to not turn away from the Lord to go back to sin is being obedient to His Word.

The Lord taught this to me as a baby Christian and not it's more important than ever to warn others as most churches and preachers are teaching once saved always saved which is doctrines of devils that lead people to believe they can live in sin and still be saved.

Are you sure you are on the Lord's side???

Do you think He can fail?

You think when people fall in to sin it's the Lord's fault and He has failed somehow?

They may be shut out from God's kingdom. But the born again spirit will not be found in hell.

That is a contradiction and is not biblical.

There's only two eternal destinations - God's Kingdom or hell.

If a person is shut out from God's Kingdom then they go to hell.

Obviously you have been deceived by false doctrine and have not accepted the whole counsel of the Lord. That's too bad.

I suspect there would be fewer prodigals if there were not as many condemning older brothers.

Those that have turned away from the Lord have caused themselves to be condemned.

Those warning them they they must forsake their sin, confessing their sins to the Lord and return to Him are speaking the Truth according to God's Word.

"Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, tell him that he is going to hell." That's your interpretation. What it really says is, "You who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted." Galatians 6:1

And what is your answer to those that insist they can continue living in sin and claim they are still saved?

Those following the fake "gospel" tell them it's all good, you are still saved even though you turned way from the Lord and are now living in sin refusing to repent of your wicked ways.

Romans 11:21,22
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

2 Peter 2:20
For if after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

Isn't it time you start accepting all the Lord says in His Word and quit following false teachers?

Define "living in sin." What specifically does that include?

I'm not the one speaking in favor of still being saved even while living in sin.

Okay, thank you, If you do not see God for you, sorry, God is for you to believe God, through So. To see from God, Jesus did take away sin for you John 1:29, John 19:30. For anyone to believe God. To agree with God we, I at least need God, and all others as well. To learn new in trust with Father, that takes away sin in you, never to claim you are doing it, thank you
If anyone else can be perfect, Then that one will not need God at all. Will have chosen independence from God as Adam and Eve did.
They ate from that tree to be independent from God, not to be dependent on God. The sin is "Unbelief to God's lead willingly through them. Which has passed onto all first birth in flesh and blood. God is good all the time as food is God all the time. Not seen until born again by God Father in risen Son, Thanks

Looking at that ‘oh so emphatic and clear’ statement in Leviticus:

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (Lev 18:22, KJV)

In the Tyndale Old Testament Commentary series, Leviticus, by Professor R. K. Harrison, the commentary on v22 reads:

"The regulations of Leviticus condemn certain aberrations found among the Egyptians and Canaanites, who went far towards deifying sexual activity, and assigned the title 'holy ones' to cultic prostitutes. Sacro-homosexual practices and female prostitution within the context of the cultus was probably well established throughout the ancient Near East long before the Israelites occupied Canaan. Homosexuality of a non-religious variety is poorly documented in Mesopotamian texts..." page 191

From New Bible Dictionary, 3rd Edition, IVP

“Historically, homosexual behaviour was linked with idolatrous cult prostitution (1 Ki 14:24; 15:12; 22:46). The stern warnings of the Levitical law (Lv. 18:22; 20:13) are primarily aimed at idolatry too; the word ‘abomination’ (to ebah), for example, which features in both these references, is a religious often used for idolatrous practices.” page 479

This is not something coming from modern gay theology, but was known in centuries past, even commented on by the Puritan Matthew Poole (1624-1679) –

On Leviticus 18:22, it states “See Levit. 20.13. 1 King 14.24.” This is left out of the digitized versions.

Poole on 1 King 14:24
“Sodomites, i.e. males, who prostituted their bodies to the filthy lusts of others; of whom See Poole "Deuteronomy 23:17"; who also did this in the worship and to the honour of their idols as also the women did, Numbers 25:1,Numbers 25:2. And this might be one occasion of so great a spreading of idolatry among the lustful Israelites. And, on the other side, God doth frequently punish idolatry with corporeal uncleanness, Romans 1:21,Romans 1:28. See 1 Kings 15:12; 1 Kings 22:46; 2 Kings 23:7.”

It is not difficult to see which interpretation is correct, the scholars or the empty talkers. Do a word study. In the introductory portion of chapter 18 in v 3 you find in the KJV “ordinances” which is the Hebrew chuqqah, H2708. So trace that word and see how it is used. Do the same with “abomination”, Hebrew to ebah H8441 and then pay special attention to Ezekiel where the word is used 40 times, and it is in Eze. 16:48-50 where the Lord GOD tells us what the sin of Sodom was, the only explanation given to us in the OT of the wicked Sodomites.

Many question the idea of chapter 18 being largely about incest, not religious practice, but if you research, you’ll find such as the following:

“Ancient Egyptians, especially the royal families including Pharaohs, did practice incest, particularly brother-sister and sometimes father-daughter marriages. This was common during both the dynastic period and the later Greek Ptolemaic dynasty era. The practice was largely confined to the royal family and was linked to religious beliefs, as Egyptian gods such as Osiris and Isis were themselves depicted as siblings and spouses. Incestuous marriages served to keep the royal bloodline pure and maintain divine status for the Pharaohs, who were considered gods on earth.”

With the resources available today to the Christian of average intelligence, it is laziness to allow oneself to be led about by ignorant, homophobic nutcases.

No mention of cult practice here. Pretty straightforward

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
