When I was married and my son was little, Christmases were so very different. Now it's just me and my son. I've tried to make sure that he's had a lot of exposure to extended family and that we have continued certain traditions (Not adding baby Jesus to the nativity until Christmas morning; driving around looking at lights and opening our gifts on Christmas Eve so that Christmas Day is all about Jesus, not gifts; attending Christmas Eve services, etc.). We share a love for movies and books, so we like to spend the day at the movie of our choice (I have to have my buttered popcorn and he has cookie dough bites; this year it will probably be Warhorse) and reading books we got for one another for Christmas.

What do you do?
 
Drink egg nog out of the carton.

Play board games with my friends.

Watch its a wonderful life.
 
Spend it with my wonderful mommy! :D (And God forbid anything should happen to her (illness etc) I'll lose my mind.)
 
I always go home and spend Christmas with my family...this is the first year I wont be around my family for Christmas. Its going to be hard on me I think!!

Unfortunately, I have to spend every holiday listening to my grandparents' medical and bowel problems, including all the gory details... and each of my surviving grandparents has a significant other, which makes it even harder. Nothing says "Christmas" like stories of hip replacements, knee surgeries, failing body parts, and constipation...

(I love my family but I long for someone I can really talk to. I have a friend who is incarcerated and I've visited him on 3 Thanksgivings... There are so many times on the holidays when I think to myself, "Lord, I would so much rather be at the prison!!")

I've noticed a lot of ppl watch this movie on Christmas time.. Its a good one tho :)

And um I am single but live with my fam, so I guess my post here doesnt quite count :D But Im curious to read how you guys spend this festive time of the year. :)
 
I live far from my parents, but I am lucky my mother is coming for Christmas
 
By hang out with my best friends , spend my time for shopping, going to visiting my families
 
I'm gonna go find a sports bar open and watch the games.
 
We always have a big family get together at someone's house either on Christmas Eve or Christmas night with lots of food.
 
Alone... Fasting... In the Presence of God!!! :)!!! Reading the Bible, maybe some of my favorite Christian artists are turned on!!! :)))!!
 
I am gonna do the usual. We have Christmas Eve dinner at one of my aunts houses and then I will spend the night at my Mom's and open presents in the morning. Because Christmas is on Sunday this year I will be attending evening service at church.

I also got myself the best Christmas present this year instead of spending money on other people. I booked a room at a luxury hotel. I will stay there a few days after Christmas. I get chocolate covered strawberries and some other treats as well as breakfast in bed the next morning.

No, I do whatever needs to be done and do it. Lights, check. Presents, check. Shovel, check. ect ect...
 
I spend time with my family, I have no kids or boy friend anymore so, we (Mom, brother, and nephew) live together and encourage each other. Plus I have a great church family that is always surprising me and keeping me encouraged and in the Christmas spirit.
 
I'm going to wake up late, eat some left overs that I brought home from my sister's house, and watch A Christmas story. It doesn't matter how many times I've seen that movie, it never gets old.
 
I'll be attending Church and probably go out for dinner at a restaurant. I hope no sad feelings come over me though as I'm alone. I have my kids, but I would really like to have a boyfriend to share it with also.

I used to watch It's a Wonderful Life every year, but now it's A Christmas Story. I even bought this for my Christmas village display this year :) Now I want a leg lamp nightlight :)

One of my friend at church invited me. I love to go to her place. She has the gift of hospitality and is an excellent cook. After eating I usually play cards with her family, enjoying some dessert and sipping some champagne. It's a lot of fun and a great moment of fellowship.
