The proper reading of John 18:6 is "they went backwards" meaning they drew back or stepped back, not "they fell", and there is no indication whatsoever that they went backwards "3" times.
This is just the opposite of what I have seen happen to people that are supposedly "slain in the spirit", since they immediately without stepping backwards fall backwards to the floor.
Friend, please try not hard to become 'even' with your 'brethren' because that is not exactly the 'written truth', understood in 'context'.
'As it is written' exactly in John 18;6, that;
"When JESUS said to them, 'I AM HE,' they drew back 'and' fell to the ground."
These happened 'together' at the same time. And do not try to 'separate' any of them and the 'doctrine' will be 'twisted'.
Your points are also noted, taken and appreciated that this incident did not happen '3' times in the 'passage', as i have mistakenly 'testified'. i sincerely apologize for that, 'i am sorry to all', and that i may have 'received' them from another written 'version', or probably from a 'man of GOD' in a church meeting, or perhaps may be from a Christian book, i do not remember.
Some do 'fall' immediately 'backwards' like a 'cut timber' and there are also some who step backwards, may due to 'natural reflexes' to regain balance, sooner either they 'freely fall backwards' to the ground or may be 'tripped' by someone or something behind them.
GOD bless all in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST.
