like most of us, we have envisioned thoughtful and helpful signs...
maybe a 'high-five-a thumbs up- an I love you-I agree with you-I love what you said-
maybe some signs that the 'deaf' can relate to-a sign of victory, it can just go on and on,
especially, a sign that indicates that we are in UNITY...

Not trying to derail this but I totally agree. Being half ministry and half business isn't a great idea imo.

Okey dokey. Sorry. Misunderstood. I hear that same rant from writers, but it lessens when they start seeing the difference between a fellow writer's ability to write versus chatting on the forums.
Since I embraced emoticons and have embraced emojis, I have nothing against those who don't use them, nor anything against those who do. And since most of the young people I know are Christians, I tend to get a kick how easy they can communicate with so much less words than I do.
(Granted, I have yet to master why three smiley faces instead of one, but then again, I have never texted in my life, so they simply know stuff I don't know.
)

I do think it's a great idea. I just know how it could be done better and raise more money. It's not that tough to figure out. Advertisement placement. It is possible to remove the advertisement for paying users. And, by now this site has well earned its rep of hosting enough users that they could have their pick of advertisement. (Meaning, if it's against their beliefs to advertise a Christian product or service, because the owner and staff don't really think it fits into their beliefs, then they can say no to that business. And if they know any business that they truly agree with and support, it would be a good fit for both businesses.)
After all, even Christians have to make money, so why not make it on what we are? As someone with limited resouces, I've had to get really picky on who I donate to. BUT if I trust a business enough and that business advertises other businesses, I've got no problems clicking the link. And if I see a purpose in the product or service, I'm more than happy to contribute to CC's profit margin knowing CC earned money through that.
We really should be willing to support Christian businesses. Too often Christians think "Well, they're Christians too, so they should just give it to me for free." (Not saying what you're thinking. Just a general thing I see in Christianity.) Nothing wrong in making money as Christians.

But anyhoo, my Norton antivirus, my WOT, and my Avira browser plugin alert me to malicious sites before I click on them, so I know which ones have viruses and which ones don't..

I like smilies just fine.
And I'm all for pictures, graphics, videos, whatever.
And if you want to make a "memorable" point, everyone knows you need to add some visuals of some kind (memory studies prove this, and anyone in marketing, education, or public speaking certainly knows this).
I was just going off-topic a bit, and sharing my concern about some odd cultural trends.
