Smoking even a small amount of tobacco is harmful to your health. Scientific evidence indicates there is
no safe level of smoking, and even light or occasional smoking carries significant, long-term risks.

Key Health Risks of Low-Level Smoking

doctor Magenta!!!!! you are right on. a fine detailed summary of the truth. i know a guy who was a partier, got in a fight, suffered a broken leg & wasn't healing properly. months later, the doctor asked if he smoked cigarettes & he said yes. the doctor said that's why your leg isn't healing right. smoking reduces healing time.

God convicted me to quit smoking weed.Jesus said this to me when I asked him with my carnal mind if weed would ever be legal in Canada."weed will be legal,but you wont be smoking."
Some years later weed was legalized and God convicted me to quit years before it even happen,supernaturally.

This was the same time when I asked him the answer to life.He told me I wouldn't like it and held up four fingers and said "the first letter is L."
I instantly knew it was love but I didn't want to believe it so I asked for another hint.
He put down another finger and said "last letter is E."
And I was so shocked saying "nooo,no,it can't be love?!.
And he just looked at me and said "I told you that you wouldn't like it"

There's so many verses that can testify to it but the short answer is that the life is in the blood.Jesus died because he loved you.
The answer to life is in the blood.

yes, and so can eating a large steak and patatoe. What you should do is qualify your statement to show excessive use of Tabacco is more dangerous that the basic food we eat.
I’ll give you the potato but a large steak is probably the healthiest thing we can eat.

Either way a little pot doesn’t make one a pothead just as a couple drinks doesn’t make one an alcoholic. There are far worse things ruining our society and damaging our health than pot. Social media, porn, ultra processed foods, seed oils, etc…. Pot in moderation can help in some situations when used for medicinal purposes. Just smoking to get high is no different than just drinking to get a buzz. Should we kick the nicotine, pot, and alcohol and just rely on God to get us through every situation? Of course but are any of us perfect? Nah.
 
We are called to be of a sober mind.
Really anything that effects our natural state and corrupts our temple is looked down upon.... from gluttony to herion.
The chances of it to be addicting are high and can cause health problems physically and mentally and often spiritually.
Some of the related words in the bible is sorcery, witchcraft, drunkard, pharmakia which come from pharmacy.
Drunkenness is a sin according to the word whether it covers all of these or not I couldn't say.
Okay so being ecstatic about riding down a water slide is sin that's what you're saying because for that moment you took your eyes off Jesus because you're going so fast down the slide

Because it's not. By any definition you can pull from the Bible is dependent upon one thing and that is the presupposition that it's wrong.

Genesis 1:19 I believe tells us we're giving all of the herbs that have seeds and all of the fruits that have seed for food from that basis you can eat marijuana and if you cook it it's even more potent and you can eat that too and arguably since smoking the plant is less intoxicating than eating it cooked I think you know where I'm going

Second the comparison to being drunk or not sober where is that line if you say having a glass of wine makes you drunk then we need to accuse Jesus of sin during his last passover that was fermented wine

I know plenty of people who can function just as well after having smoked a joint as not having smoked one.

Probably the biggest thing is that God created all things good now it is you could question whether or not we have found an appropriate use for marijuana but even so we do know that it's good for medical reasons and we also know that it's good for certain psychiatric reasons as well as we know it is safer then alcohol in fact it was a 1967 study that proved this by the government it just didn't get much airplay.

We live in a western culture Where intoxicants Have Always Been looked at as negative or sinful but that is not the case in the Middle East I have another post along this thread that expands this so that you understand that the picnard wiped on Jesus's feet was psychoactive, as well as a number of the ingredients used to produce the smoke that goes into the holy of holies.

which arguably could literally have been psychedelic and I know that sounds horrible but if you actually look at these ingredients and do your research they all contain the chemicals to produce psychoactive drugs and effects. were they in enough quantity so that they affected the high priest we don't know however those plants were used just like they have found use in other venues in modern day America.

Another point would be moderation since we can't condemn Jesus for drinking wine there must be some truth to it being acceptable at some level without it Crossing into sin.

All drugs, but for purposes of this conversation marijuana alter the dopamine and serotonin receptors and here's the spoiler: Anything that is exciting and fun and by definition changing your mood by having a drink or smoking a joint or going down a water slide or having a baby or having sex inside the of a proper marriage all would be ruled as Sin because they cause the same effect more or less on the brain

An issue I think would be a better way to handle this entire topic is self-control if all one does is get up in the morning and smoke dope all day long I would have no issue with that being considered sin just like somebody who drinks from sun up to sundown

The only clear distinction in the Bible about intoxicants is it warns us against strong drink as well as being of sober mind in particular if you are in a leadership position which makes complete sense.

But since we have no definitive line that says obviously one glass of wine is probably not intoxicating and maybe two doesn't maybe one joint doesn't bring you to this theoretical level of intoxication where you can't think straight

While I am no longer a drug user I was extremely far off the deep end into it in particular psychedelics and there's not a person on this planet who can't tell me that there is not deep deep spiritual levels of insight about God and anything else that one can gain. of course it is very risky

To Simply say that smoking something a cigarette or a joint or glass of wine is sin is to make a false line in the sand and mis-understand the concept of Soberiety. I can hear the AA proponents now...

Sobriety is about being able to make appropriate decisions as you would before smoking a joint. For one person This may or may not cause this to be a problem and therefore is really more of an individual rather than a blanket covering all aspects

Having said this I am not a proponent that people should be taking drugs at all I think they overall harm Society except in a good controlled Medical or psychiatric scenario, or when used responsibly.

And riding on the coattails would be the elephant in the room which would be opiates it's hard to say that even with the minor opiates starting with hydrocodone that you're not intoxicated when you take one as a painkiller it is very effective and in no way in my opinion would God think that eating a painkiller to resolve pain is a sin.

Likewise marijuana even in recreational terms has several benefits dealing with relaxation anti-anxiety pain killing and helps One open themselves up to a little bit broader spectrum of thought if you get some good sativa

The one thing nobody can do here or anywhere else is tell me that my own personal experiences are invalid especially when they are not unique to me and are shared by a very large segment of the population.

And don't think for a minute that I didn't spend a lot of time with God discussing some of my views I am not alone and I'm not afraid to speak my mind. We would be walking on eggshells if every time something was exciting to us and affected our dopamine and serotonin receptors we decided it was sinful.

And since I'm already being long-winded there is one other aspect that some people bring up and that is the use of the Greek word pharmakopeia which in Hebrews and in Revelation are translated witchcraft

Having been deeply involved in the occult I can attest to the fact that drugs can be used in for many reasons however as stated in a different post somebody going home at the end of the day turning on the news and smoking a joint is not committing the sin of Witchcraft and therefore does not fall under that motif. Nor wood the person who goes home and has a glass of wine.

Weed was once an illicit drug and, therefore, consuming it was considered a sin because, to do so, one disobeyed the laws of the land.

Now that weed is legal (in many states) simply using it is not necessarily a sin. It may be in some cases, like while driving or using heavy machinery, but the substance itself is not inherently evil.

With that said, sons of God are to be led by the Spirit of God. If any substance impairs our ability to respond to the Spirit it should be avoided. Furthermore, if your action causes a brother or sister to stumble, do not do it; at least do not do it in front of them. Are you able to use weed and not smell like weed to your godly family or to not present as "high" to them? If not, then do not use it. Would you lose credibility in your mission field by using weed? (your mission field is where God has established you) If so, do not use weed.

I think the only thing I would take issue with in that statement is offending one's brother because frankly it offends me that people don't understand that marijuana is just another plant that has a lot of uses

That statement if I recall correctly it was in reference to what people eat or drink as it relates to the Mosaic law versus the eating habits of the Gentiles and was not about an intoxicant

Then you live in a bubble the rest of us struggle with our daily walk while some of it is easy some of it is not

I take extreme issue with the fact that God created Humanity for whatever his purpose was and allowed it to get to a point where we are in the middle of a fight between an evil angel and God. I didn't ask for this to happen God created us and put us in the middle of it while I understand that there is things that a spiritual level that can be gained from being in this position and can appreciate the intellectual side of it it seems slightly cruel

Hand in hand with this is a simple solution believe in Jesus and then doing so one obviously should be obedient to various commands found within the New Testament primarily love one another and love God or burn in hell. In the most simplest of terms salvation is blackmail. My way or the highway is what Jesus saying.

So with a no to that....where do you want to go to?

Yes God made wine but to drink it to get drunk ....drunkness a sin.
What your trying to do is justify forbidden fruit which God also made but siad no its sin and you will surely die.

I used to be a creature of this habit, and not in moderation.

Walking out on the world and bringing the weed with me, wouldn't have cleared the path for the renewal of my mind. When I was stoned, my psyche was ensconced someplace between Narnia and Space Mountain. Hardly a premise for aligning my thoughts with Christ.

Eat this bread, drink this cup, and light a spliff? Nah.

Weed and cigarettes and booze are intoxication (drunkenness) which is sin and is on God's list of things one can do that will prevent them from being allowed to enter in to His Kingdom (it's walking after the flesh)

Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

That's what is so weird about these end times in which we live is so many are starting to follow doctrines of demons

Christians have been bought with a price they are not their own so those putting things ion their body to damage the body and to cause intoxication are sadly being deceived by demons
 
I spent many years working in mental health facilities as a registered nurse. By far the most common reason that young people presented with psychosis was from the use of marijuana. So I would say without a doubt that for the Christian it is a sin against the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Exactly. Not only does it make one intoxicated, it also causes psychosis not to even mention it opens one's self up to demonic activity
 
I stopped reading after this sentence. With regards to steak, if you're referring to a beef steak that's a superfood that is very good for us... unless you drink the globalist kool-aid that would have us eating insects and lab grown fake meat.
