Can you explain to us how you arrived at your response to Grace's comment below?

I cannot understand how you go from reading someone's post which encourages us to trust Holy Spirit to your response.

It's as if someone were to say: "GOD is good-" and you responded with, "-and He ain't drunk".

Sure. Grace said "we need to be open to the Holy Spirit for all things as he guides us". Grace said that because Grace thinks that stumbling around and falling backwards like a drunk is something the Holy Spirit leads us to do. I responded with "a DRUNKEN spirit is not the Holy Spirit" because the Holy Spirit has nothing to do with drunkeness.

Grace's holy spirit isn't the Holy Spirit of the bible. Grace added his own intepretation to Acts 2 to make it line up with his belief in "getting drunk in the spirit".

The new wine is grape juice when it goes into the bottle, and yes eventually it will ferment if the bottles worn out and aren't sealed properly. But if the bottles are new and sealed properly the new wine wont ferment and pressure wont build up in the bottle so both the bottles and the new wine are preserved.

Bottles are earthen vessels and this treasure is hidden in earthen vessels... the wine skin translation kind of ruins the parable, it makes it harder to see the true meaning of the parable. The old bottles were Jews, the new bottles are the Gentiles.

But not knowing that, I will simply say you are in agreement with Independent Baptist doctrine.

Well the only problem is that none of the men were acting drunk, the only thing they did was speak in other languages and that was percieved by the mockers as being drunk. The men were just speaking about the wornderful works of God in all languages, that's a far cry from a bunch of drunks starting the New Testament church.

Brother Justin Acts 2 is a foreshadow of the Holy Spirit translating the word of God into all languages. Holy men of God moved as they were given utterance by the Spirit. God even moved the mockers to say the men were full of new wine because the new wine is the Holy Spirit.

When you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost , you will respond in some form our fashion, but the that holds true is speaking in tongues. I know some will say it was just for that day of Pentecost to empower the Apostles. However Paul was not there, He was busy putting Christians in Jail and holding the coats of them that stoned Stephen. I will ask again, how did they know that when they laid hands on the believers that they received the Holy Spirit. By speaking in tongues. I certainly believe in speaking in tongues and that it's still going on today, but I know what goes on in churches today is not tongues. I speak in tongues on this forum all the time and get ridiculed and called a heretic for it. It's called an unknown tongue for a reason... it doesn't exist, it's the language of symbols. It's how God conceals himself from the world but reveals himself to his friends.

"Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:...." (1 Peter 5:8).

Sober Mindedness is acknowledging there is Spiritual warfare, not fought for victory but still a real battle fought from it. We Must, thru sober-judgement (thru the Holy Spirit's godly spiritual transformation) lead us to our revelation which demands we Stand against Satan not in godly arrogance, but in protecting our minds and bodies from the Spirit of Sin, which wants to knock us off the eternal security found in Christ Jesus our rock, the rock who has no advisory worthy of displacement. We must do this in Christ, or anything outside of Christ, will be given way to devour the Christ that is in us, via; Satan. And sins are but left in that wake of altered disposition..
