You would greatly benefit if you actually understood the mosaic law. It cannot be performed in the first place, there is no temple, not Levitical priesthood and no sacrifices... This is the problem SDA and Hebrew roots among others fail to understand.... its actually laughable if it wasn't such a damaging heresy to the Christian nation. You all use the exact same verses to defend the presupposition, and you change word definitions and create false context that is not biblical to defend the position. You have to flip the clear meaning of more than 40 verses from Paul. And pretty much rip out Galatians from the bible.

My guess is you cannot see that this is why you believe this heresy.

How many of the 10 commandments do you think we should obey as a reflection of the love of God and a love for our neighbors?

Okay, but you still did not reply to my point, which was that Romans 2:28-29 and 4:16-18 indicate Gentile believers may be viewed as true or spiritual Jews and children of Abraham. Although they were not "in a covenant to obey the law", Romans 1:20 & 2:14-15 says that Gentiles have moral consciences that perceive equivalent requirements.
Gentiles don't become Jews in the flesh or in the Spirit.

Gentiles were never under the law (Exodus 20).

I don't care whether you call it moral law, ethical law, that has nothing to do with living in the spirit.

You are under grace not the law (Exodus 20).

Israel was under the law (Exodus 20) and Gentiles were not under (Exodus 20).

Gentiles were like the Jews in that we were under the law of Noah before the law came.

Abraham had faith and we have faith and we are both reckoned righteous by faith.

You have an ancient, traditional, church background, and that goes way back before Catholicism.

Irenaeus mentioned the law (Exodus 20) back in 185 AD.

Exodus 20 is not the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 3:12
The law is not of faith...

They are traditional Catholics which believe the law is universal and eternal.

Genesis 2 v 3 And God blessed the seventh day , and sanctified it ;

Look up the words blessed and sanctified, then you will understand better the Sabbath, but use multiple sources some are vague, verify and verify!
Why does the Noahide law exclude the sabbath day?

Leviticus 23 only mentions two specific days that are practiced as a sabbath day.

The seventh day and the day of atonement.

Both carry a death penalty and both are a complete rest not a partial rest, not a rest from laborious work.

Leviticus 23:28-30...32
You shall not do any work on this same day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before
the Lord your God. If there is any person who will not humble himself on this same day, he shall be cut off from
his people. As for any person who does any work on this same day, that person I will destroy from among his people...
It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you.

The other six feasts are not recognized as a sabbath day rest.

A partial rest and a convocation on any day is not a sabbath rest day.

you are correct, on the 7th Day and the Day of Atonement which is a fast day, not only are we not to do our normal job or labor but we are not to prepare food. No food or water on Atonement, but on the 7 day Sabbath prepared food is eaten.

in general making a meal from scratch is not done on the 7th day, making toast, frying a egg not a problem.

on the other 6 Holy Feasts of God food can be prepared. but no work is to be done, you do not cut your grass or clean your house or go to your job or go fishing etc. we are to meet with our Father and Christ.

the 7 day Sabbath foreshadows the coming 1000 year day when mankind will have a 1000 years of rest from sin.

the 7 Feasts foreshadow the major events in God's 7000 year plan of salvation

Passover is not a Feast, not a Holy Day.

man has 6000 years to "enjoy" sin but the seventh is a day without sin. Christ will rule with the Rod of Iron.

I spent a lot of time going through 119 Ministries videos as well as Steve Berkson and they are either intentionally ignoring the clear meaning of text or they are just blinded to Jesus because of the adherence to the law. They make lots of false dichotomies, use secondary and tertiary meanings of some words and literally make up background context that has no basis in fact or in the bible.

We are not under the law but under grace.

Nor are we under the ceremonial law and the two greatest commandments in the ceremonial law.

We are only under the law of Christ which is equipped with the full power of the Holy Spirit.

Israel was under the law and Gentile were never in covenant to obey the law (Exodus 20).

9, we are explicitly told this. Jesus applied 9 of the 10 and left out the sabbath. However this is NOT the mosaic law o he would have included the sabbath command rather this was true before moses or abraham. Pagan societies recognized that murder, adultery, thieving etc. was bad. The mosaic law defined a subset of laws specifically to the people of Israel. and to no one else for the purpose of showing them was He considered sinful against him as it related to Israel. He could have said "don't pick up blue rocks" also... he defined the covenant by the 613 mosaic laws. they were not a complete set of sins possible. n Therefore the mosaic law does not define ALL sin.

Thanks for posting examples of backwards understanding/interpretation of Scripture,
so Christians can perceive that pitfall and thus avoid perverting the true Gospel.
Do I sense a bit of sarcasm? I don't agree there is anything backward in trying to understand scripture. Please tell me how getting a clearer understanding of sin perverts truth; or am I missing the point.

Viewed... but not real... The covenant with Abraham (promise) was NOT the covenant with Israel (Law). Gentiles are from the Abrahamic covenant. Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the Covenant which was confirmed earlier by God in Christ cannot be annulled by the law (mosaic), which came four hundred and thirty years after, so as to make the (covenant of) promise of no effect.

Gentiles are still under the Abramic covenant.

Yes, the law Gentiles were under per Rom. 2:28-29 included folks from Noah to Moses.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Well, that as a great thought-out reply. But Protestant Christianity (gentiles) have never been and never will be under the Mosaic law. this is my point. It's fine if people want to incorporate the law into their lives but Jesus nor anyone else in the New Testament is commanded to do so. It is simply not a part of christianity.
It is by the Law of Moses that we have knowledge of what sin is (Romans 3:20), so if Gentiles have never been under the Mosaic Law, then Gentiles have never needed to refrain from sin, have never needed to repent from sin, have never needed salvation from sin, have never needed the Gospel message, have never needed faith, have never needed faith, and have never needed Jesus to have given himself to redeem us from all lawlessness.

Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Law of Moses by word and by example and he commissioned his disciples to teach to the nations everything that he taught them. Christianity is about following what Christ taught, not about refusing to follow Christ.

The Abrahamic covenant is NOT the mosaic covenant.
I did not say that it was, though they are in accordance with each other. They are both made with the same God with the same character traits and therefore any instructions that God has given for how to embody His character traits are eternally and cumulatively valid.

Your position is a heretical position that attempt to place Christians under the Mosaic Law of Israel. Please tell me where in these verses it includes Christians or gentiles.
In Exodus 12:38, there was a mixed multitude that came up out of Egypt with them, so there were Gentiles at the foot of Sinai. Likewise, in Joshua 8:33, Israel was inclusive of both the foreigner and the native born. In Ephesian 2:12-19, Gentiles were at one time separated from Christ, alienated from Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in this world, which is in accordance with Gentiles at one time not being doers of the Mosaic Law, but through faith in Christ all of that is no longer true in that Gentiles are no longer strangers or aliens but are fellow citizens of Israel along with the saints in the household of God, which is in accordance with Gentiles becoming doers of the Mosaic Law. The New Covenant was only made with the house of Judah and the house of Israel (Jeremiah 31:33), so it is only through becoming joined to Israel through faith in Christ that Gentiles are able to partake of the New Covenant. Israel was given the role of being a light and a blessing to the nations, but would you prefer it if the light and the blessing was just for Israel?

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: FOR YE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under grace? God forbid."
Romans 6:14-15, KJV

"Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become DEAD TO THE LAW by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God."
Romans 7:4, KJV
Paul spoke about multiple categories of law other than the Law of God, such as the law of sin and works of the law, so it is alway important to be careful to discern which law he was referring to. For example, in Romans 7:25-8:2, Paul said that he served the Law of God with his mind in contrast with the law of sin, which he served with his flesh, and he said that the Law of the Spirit has freed us from the law of sin and death, so its should at least be worth considering whether those verses are referring to one of these categories of law or to a different category that Paul spoke about.

Paul spoke about the Law of God as being the good that he wanted to do and the law of sin as being something that was hindering him from doing the good that he wanted to do. In Romans 6:14, Paul described the law that he was not under as being a law where sin had dominion over him, which is clearly not referring to the Law of God that is the good that he wanted to do, but rather that is the role of the law of sin. In Romans 6:15, Paul said that being under grace does not mean that we are permitted to sin, and in Romans 7:7, the Law of God is not sinful but how we know what sin is, so we are still under the Law of God. Moreover, everything else in Romans 6 speaks in favor of obedience to God and against sin, so there is nothing that suggest that we are no longer under the Law of God and are free to become doers of what it reveals to be sin.

In regard to Romans 7:4, it wouldn't make any sense to interpret that as saying that we need to die to what Christ taught in order to be unified with him or that we need to die to God's Word in order to be unified with God's word made flesh, but rather we need to die to the law of sin in order to be free to obey the Law of God. Likewise, it would not make sense to think that we need to die to God's instructions for how to bear fruit for Him in order to be free to bear fruit for Him, but rather we need to die to the law of sin that was hindering us from bearing fruit for God.

The condition for the Israelites to return to the land after they had been exiled to Babylon was to first return to obedience to the Mosaic Law, which contains laws in regard to Temple practice that could no longer be obeyed because the Temple had just been destroyed, so when there are laws that no longer have their conditions men, then we should nevertheless be faithful to follow Christ's example of obedience to the laws that we can obey.

If you want to accuse me of something, then by all means please make the case for it instead of offering bluster. I quoted the only definition that the NAS Greek Lexicon lists that is specifically in regard to fulfilling the law, which fits with what Jesus immediately proceeded to do after he said that he came to fulfill the law, which fits with how other verses use it, and which fits with how other Jewish texts use it, while you use a definition that contradicts how Jesus used it, which contradicts how other verses use it, and which contradicts how other Jewish texts use it, and which makes Jesus out to be a false prophet.

In Deuteronomy 13, the way that God instructed to determine that someone is a false prophet is if they speak against obeying the Mosaic Law, so if you consider Jesus and the Apostles to be servants of God, then you are taking the position that it is incorrect to interpret them as speaking against obeying the Mosaic Law and if you think that they should be interpreted as speaking against obeying the Mosaic Law, then you are taking the position that they are false prophets. So you are the one who is taking the position that Galatians should be ripped out of the Bible while I am taking the position that it should be kept in the Bible.

My guess is you cannot see that this is why you believe this heresy.
By all means please explain why the position that followers of Christ should follow his example of obedience to what God has commanded should be considered to be heresy, or if it is heresy, then please explain why we all shouldn't be heretics.

It does not work to take the position that we should only follow what Jesus and the Apostles said but not what they considered to be an authoritative source. For example, Jesus quoted three times from Deuteronomy in order to defeat the temptations of Satan, which included saying that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God (Deuteronomy 8:3), so he affirmed God as still being an authoritative source, which includes affirming what God spoke in Deuteronomy 5:12-15 in regard to keeping the Sabbath holy. In Deuteronomy 12:32, it is a sin to add to or subtract from the Mosaic Law, so Jesus did not do that. Again, Jesus should not be interpreted as being in violation of Deuteronomy 13.

We have no need for the NT to specifically repeat everything that God has spoken in order to know that we should still live by every word that comes from the mouth of God, but Jesus would have still taught full obedience to the Mosaic Law by example even if the NT hadn't repeated any commands, which included keeping the Sabbath holy, and we are told to follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-22) and that those who are in Christ are obligated to walk in the same way that he walked (1 John 2:6).

Sin is what is contrary to God's character traits and sin is the transgression of the Mosaic Law because it was given in order to teach us how to know Him through embodying His character traits, so sin is specific to who God is, not to who Israel is.

Them and Hebrew Roots (which i have had several years experience with) and Seventh Day Adventist. It stems from misunderstand the Mosaic Law and the OT Covenants. Which is ironic considering that they seem to completely be ignorant of.

If it were true that God commanded something and that Paul spoke against obeying what God commanded, then who would have the higher authority and which one should we follow?

Romans 2:28–29
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter;
whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Jews are defined by their Mosaic covenant (Exodus 20).

Romans 4:16–18
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed;
not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God,
who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed
in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Galatians 3:7–9
“Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing
that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall
all nations be blessed
. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.”

Galatians 3:28–29
There is neither Jew nor Greek
, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all
one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now read the next verse carefully.

Romans 11:17
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and
became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree.

Israel, Jews, were the severed branches.

The wild olive was grafted into the root among the Jews.

Among the other branches not into those branches; we Gentiles were artificially inserted into the root.

The root is Christ.

Gentiles are spiritual in Christ with no ethnicity.
