Aaron, there is absolutely no place you must go to be with the Lord on the Sabbath. Do you read anywhere in the 4th commandment that you must go here or there?

It is a “HOLY DAY” not a holy place. Do you know of a truly holy place on this earth?

I also was quite clear- God is everywhere and at all times present. But if He decided to literally create a special day, a holy day, do you think it was / is very important TO HIM?

According to your doctrine, you must be away from your place of work on Saturday to please the Lord, correct?

The disingenuous part of this whole "Sabbath-Day-keeping" is that they rely on others to be damned in order to maintain their life-style.

None of them shut off their power from the grid.
Many also use their telecommunication devices and computers.
Many, still, use their tvs for entertainment. All of these are maintained by people who work on their "Sabbath".
They'll sit in their La-z-boys watching a movie, all smug in their self-righteousness, while enjoying the labor of the multitude who are damned.

I mean, what a magnificent delusion! To think you are the most pleasing to God while permitting others to be damned to Hell for your comforts.

I hope some day you read the Bible. By speaking of a new covenant, He has made the first
one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
Hebrews 8 v 13
This speaks of the Levitical Law (Hebrews 7:11-28) and not one other thing. If you notice….it speaks of a change in the law …….not an elimination.

Hebrews 9 tells us further that the law under discussion required the blood of goats and calves (KJV) and the action of sprinkling the scroll and the people (verse 19). In addition the tabernacle and the instruments used in the ceremonies were also sprinkled with blood (verse 21). This action took place on the plains of Moab prior to the death of Moses and the crossing of Jordan to the promised land. This was not the covenant Law from Mount Horeb (Exodus 20)…..I.e. The Ten Commandments.

When the Law of Yahweh was ratified (Exodus 24) if you notice….only oxen were sacrificed and an extremely important difference. The Tabernacle and vessels used in the ceremonies were not sprinkled when Yahweh’s Law was ratified because they had not been constructed yet and would not be for another nine months (Exodus 40:17-19).

When Hebrews 9:1 mentions the first covenant…..the Greek word PROTE speaks of Covenants under discussion….. not the original Covenant from Horeb in Sinai. The Covenants under discussion, of course being…….. the Levitical Law with its sacrifices and priesthood and the New Covenant sealed in the blood of our Savior (Hebrews 9:11).

I won’t admonish you for not reading your bible but would suggest you do a little more study.

Covenant, law, well, it is all one, you want to be an old covenant type and break it into pieces and pretend you
are keeping it and that others should too, even though it is IMPOSSIBLE, and that is spoken against in Scripture
because there is a NEW covenant, I have given the Scriptures as to what is required but they are ignored as usual.

I never said what you claim. I did state that God created a holy day and not a holy place. Do you agree with that?

He actually did create a holy place: the tabernacle/temple of God. But that is no more. Now the holy place is fulfilled within each believer; and likewise, the righteousness of the 4th commandment (and all commandments) is fulfilled by inward reverence for and outward expression of the indwelling God. This is what is known as walking by the spirit, as opposed to walking by the letter of the law. The righteousness required by the law is fulfilled in those who walk, not according to the letter of the law, but according to the spirit of the law, which is love of God (truth) and man.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, judged sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4

I have no idea what you are talking about. But it appears you may have a disdain for those who worship on Saturday. You must have a terrible dislike for the SDA people.

Well, I am not an SDA person…I hope you are able to get some help with your anger and hatred towards others.

I believe it would make sense that you, as well as @legion and myself should not have any further communication. It is not a healthy exchange at any level. Best wishes.

I would still suggest…….more study.

Stop goofing around and get to studying. And stop coming around here with truth that is only 2,000 years old when we have truth from 4,000 years ago. You kids today. Ay, ay, ay!

Nice deflect. You can't answer so you attack the one with the question.

It's called an "ad hominem attack" and it's used by those who have lost a debate in order to appear superior to the one with the question. I suppose this is consistent with your doctrine that makes "sabbath-keepers" superior to those who understand that Christ is our Sabbath rest.

Actually……it is not. There are substantial differences between Yahweh’s Law and the Law of Moses. The Father’s intention with Israel was to make them a holy nation of priests (Exodus 19:5-6) and a Kingdom.

Our Father’s Covenant did not require a separate Levitical Priesthood with all its trappings. The priesthood was begun because of Israel’s sin at the Golden Calf event (Exodus 32:25-29).

Deuteronomy 27 explains the civil Law of Moses. Deuteronomy 29 verifies the existence of two separate, distinctive laws and where they were made.

  • Israel arrived at Mt Sinai in Exodus 19.
  • In Exodus 20-23 they were given the law and numerous statutes.
  • In Exodus 24 God cut the covenant with Israel
  • In Exodus 25 Moses ascended Mt Sinai to receive instructions regarding the tabernacle and the Aaronic priesthood (Exodus 26-31).
  • In Exodus 32 while Moses was still on the mount receiving instructions about the Aaronic priesthood, Israel broke the covenant.

LOL Sabbath keeping is never given as a commandment in the NT
Matthew 19:17, Jesus tells the rich young ruler, "If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments,"

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 15: 10 If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

John 14:21 He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Oh ! Keeping the Sabbath is Commandment # 4 of the 10, being the Commandments written in our hearts, of the NT Covenant !

The commandment is not given. The law? Oh. Fulfilled through love. All of it.

Some tell us the 613 are written on our hearts. There is no accounting for the ridiculous things some believe.

Uh, well, we could say they are deceived. Yes. That would cover it.

Deuteronomy 27 explains the civil Law of Moses. Deuteronomy 29 verifies the existence of two separate, distinctive laws and where they were made.

Deuteronomy 29 was a separate covenant from the one made at Sinai. It was made to add curses and blessings regarding the law given at Sinai. Blessings for keeping the law, cursings for not keeping it.

Here were some of the commandments God gave to Abraham:

Genesis 12 “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you."
So...
"Go from your country..."
"(Go from) your people..."
"(Go from) your father’s household..."
"(Go to) the land I will show you."

That's 4 commandments. None of which are of the 10 given at Sinai. Does such a pattern continue in the New Testament? Sure.

At Jesus's first recorded miracle, Mary says this to the servants at the wedding feast:

"His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.(I wrote more about this a while ago here: LINK )

Let me pause here with a question: is Jesus about to issue a commandment? Yes, of course. The Lord of Lords, the Creator of all things, is about to give instruction to the servants. How well would it have gone for the servants if they just ignored the Lord? That's rhetorical because we just don't know. What we DO know if that from their obedience to His commandments a miracle occurred - the economy of heaven came into the earth.

Here were His commandments to the servants:

Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.

1. "Fill the waterpots with water."
2. "Draw some out."
3. "Take what is drawn to the master of the feast."

None of these are found in the Torah. Mary actually pinpoints the change of standard from following the law at Sinai to the new standard "Do what the Lord tells you to do."

Lastly, here are some commandments God gave to Saul (Paul):
Acts 9: “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
So...
"Arise..."
"Go into the city..."
"Await further instructions (paraphrased)"

3 more commandments from God, none of which are of the 10 given at Sinai.

The way of the Spirit is not following a law that blinds men to the revealed truth. It is following the leading of the Spirit in our everyday lives.

This is not true.
  • Israel arrived at Mt Sinai in Exodus 19.
Actually…..Israel arrived in the DESERT of Sinai. The Mountain was Mt. Horeb.
  • In Exodus 20-23 they were given the law and numerous statutes.
They were given the Law of Yahweh.
  • In Exodus 24 God cut the covenant with Israel
That’s correct…..
  • In Exodus 25 Moses ascended Mt Sinai to receive instructions regarding the tabernacle and the Aaronic priesthood (Exodus 26-31).
This is also correct……but the Aaronic Priesthood was not the Levitical Priesthood.
  • In Exodus 32 while Moses was still on the mount receiving instructions about the Aaronic priesthood, Israel broke the covenant.
This is also true. The mistake most folks make is assuming the Aaronic Priesthood was the same as the Levitical Priesthood. It was not. The Levites were given a special mission because of their faithfulness at the Golden Calf event (Exodus 32:25-29).

Reading through the book of Leviticus will explain the difference.

Deuteronomy 29:1 shows that there were two Covenants made with Israel. One at Mt. Horeb in Sinai and another in the land of Moab (Deuteronomy 1:1-5). The Covenant ratified at Moab was the Law of Moses which contained the Levitical priesthood with all its sacrifices and conditions. This covenant, explained in (Hebrews 7:11-28) was the covenant eliminated by our Savior’s blood at Golgotha.

The Covenant ratified at Mt. Horeb in The Desert of Sinai is the Law of Yahweh….commonly known as the Ten Commandments. This was never eliminated and is still in effect.
