What day of the week is the Preparation day in Israel?
Before what ever sabbath it may be?
Normally, it was Friday, a day before the normal Saturday sabbath.

But, with a special sabbath?
Which could fall midweek?
A preparation day would be the day that preceded that sabbath.

Why is this being so difficult for some?

Because they were never taught what a special sabbath is.

A special Sabbath, also known as a "high Sabbath," can occur on days other than the regular weekly Sabbath,
particularly during significant religious festivals like Passover. This means it is possible for a special Sabbath
to fall midweek, depending on the timing of the festivals in the Hebrew calendar.

Reading through the book of Leviticus will explain the difference.
Deuteronomy 29:1 shows that there were two Covenants made with Israel. One at Mt. Horeb in Sinai and another in the land of Moab (Deuteronomy 1:1-5). The Covenant ratified at Moab was the Law of Moses which contained the Levitical priesthood with all its sacrifices and conditions. This covenant, explained in (Hebrews 7:11-28) was the covenant eliminated by our Savior’s blood at Golgotha.
The Covenant ratified at Mt. Horeb in The Desert of Sinai is the Law of Yahweh….commonly known as the Ten Commandments. This was never eliminated and is still in effect.

You're making a distinction that doesn't exist IMO, unless you can show otherwise. The Levites weren't priests if they weren't sons of Aaron, but all priests were Levites. Order of Aaron and Levitical priesthood are referring to the same thing here:

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? Hebrews 7:11

But, not the same things.

Wanna bet?

And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. Exodus 19:18

Some tell us the 613 are written on our hearts. There is no accounting for the ridiculous things some believe.
The 613 commandments are not biblical……they are from the Babylonian Talmud.

“Tractate Makkot 23 b”

I would recommend further study…….

Deuteronomy 29 was a separate covenant from the one made at Sinai. It was made to add curses and blessings regarding the law given at Sinai. Blessings for keeping the law, cursings for not keeping it.
Deuteronomy 29:1 speaks of two separate Covenants in two separate locations separated by 40 years of wandering…..

Deuteronomy 29:1 speaks of two separate Covenants in two separate locations separated by 40 years of wandering…..

I know. Israel broke the blood covenant made at Sinai, which meant they had to be severed in half and their blood spilled like the animals were when the covenant was cut. But God through Moses' intercession spared them and made a new covenant with them in Moab, but this time with blessings and cursings for following or not following the law, respectively.

The words are used synonymously. Horeb is Sinai
Yes….because of ignorance by translators recently emerging from 1000+ years of “Dark Ages”. Mt. Sinai is a mythical location. Even today historians cannot identify the mountain of the Covenant.

Oh sure……some think they know…..but the Desert of Sinai is the proper name where Israel received the Law of Yahweh……and Horeb is identified as the mountain.

Exodus 3:1; 17:6; 33:6

Deuteronomy 1:2; 1:6; 1:19; 4:10; 4:15; 5:2; 9:8; 18:16; 29:1

I Kings 8:9; 19:8

I think it's a distinction without a difference, like calling God's people Israel and Jacob, sometimes in the same verse.

I have no idea what you are talking about. But it appears you may have a disdain for those who worship on Saturday. You must have a terrible dislike for the SDA people.

Well, I am not an SDA person…I hope you are able to get some help with your anger and hatred towards others.

I believe it would make sense that you, as well as @legion and myself should not have any further communication. It is not a healthy exchange at any level. Best wishes.
Where does it say that the seventh day is a day of worship?

The definition of a sabbath day is a day of rest and rest means to do nothing but rest on that day.

In the first century Israel rested on the sabbath day and they did not even cook on the sabbath day.

Israel did not rest on that day to worship Jesus rather Israel rested on that day to contemplate YHWH.

Only Israel had the Federal law of rest on that day and that applied to everyone in Israel.

Egypt, Persia, Rome, Greece, did not rest on the seventh day of the week.

These countries Egypt, Persia, Rome, Greece, did not have a Federal law telling them to rest on the seventh day.

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, never had the Mt Sinai law either.

The sabbath rest with the penalty of death for it's transgression was given specifically to Israel.

That is what the text states.

The Vulgate was written in the fourth century not emerging "1000+ years".

The Vulgate uses both "Mt Sinai" and "Mt Horeb", carefully preserving the distinct naming conventions of the original Hebrew texts. [1, 2]
  • Mt Sinai (Lat: mons Sinai): Predominantly used in the Book of Exodus (e.g., chapters 19, 24) and Leviticus.
  • Mt Horeb (Lat: Horeb): Predominantly used in the Book of Deuteronomy (e.g., chapters 1, 5) and 1 Kings 19. [1, 2, 3, 4]
This is not a contradiction in the Vulgate, but a reflection of the source material where both names denote the same location. To explore these differences contextually, you can read the Vulgate alongside Bible Gateway translations

All you need to do is show me where in the scripture does it say that a feast day.

Has a Preparation day preceding the sabbath day when that feast day is held to be like a sabbath day.

How did you ever turn a special sabbath into a feast day?
Apparently, I lost something in attempting to follow this ongoing street fight of a debate.

Thanks for your thoughts! Just for next thing, what if the start date is not 4 or 5 BC but 2 or 3 BC? What if the calendar they used is incorrect by 2 or 3 days - the calendar’s have been changed many times? There can be many “so what ifs” - and what were their assumptions or approaches in their calculations?

We don’t know exactly whether it was 5 BC or 2 BC or any of the other factors. But we do know from Scripture that the weekly Sabbath and the Passover Sabbath converged on the same day. And, the events subsequent to the cross would confirm the timing of the Passover day.

But thanks for the discussion! It”s all good! Best wishes.
Just a note ... there was no 0, zero, year from bc to ad
It went from 1bc to 1ad.

4bc to 31ad = 35years

Jesus lived 33 and a half years.

Back to the 7th day sabbath

Luk 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

If Jesus was making the sabbath law void, He surely would have told those closest to Him. But they continued to obey the 4th commandment.

They were still Jews.
The Church age had not begun until the Day of Pentecost.

They were still Jews.
The Church age had not begun until the Day of Pentecost.
But for many years after Pentecost both Jews and Gentiles kept the sabbath.

Isa 66:22-23
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

ALL FLESH
NEW EARTH.

Mat 24:20-21
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

This event was many years after Pentecost and also applies to the end times.
Why was Jesus saying pray that your flight be not on the sabbath?
