Royal news today ---

The trade deal was for gumboots with Maori patterns on them. The newest word in chic for muddy farmers.

Christian take -- gumboots are usually black because they get mud on them. The red bands are so they don't get lost in the dark. I am not sure if Maori designs on them make them any more effective, but thats what they're trying to sell ....(they are made in China)
When Jesus said shake the dust off your feet and did foot washing, it was in Israel where mud is unheard of.
I think as long as the gumboots don't have holes in them (unlike crocs) so the water and mud don't get in, they should be ok. While Maori designs look ok as a cultural identifier, it won't really help the NZ economy if they are made in China.

Former English rugby player Mike Tindall, married to daughter of Princess Anne, Zara nee Phillips, father of 3 children, apparently made some jokes about his Royal in-law family while attending a Welsh Literary Festival at Harry's expense. 'Back when Harry was fun' he said.
He also said some things about Andrew.

Come on - at least have them available in Mitre 10. Australia will take all your profits. Spare a thought for your own country and the people who need work here. I am not sure that I would buy them. I have imitation pink crocs that were $8 from Cheap4 U made in China. Where the real crocs are made anyway.
My gumboots are skellerup, made in NZ (not sure if they still there, but they've lasted me ages, and have an silver fern transfer on them. Maori used silver ferns to light the path through the forest at night time, the silver fern has a silvery underside. Also the silver fern is the emblem of the All Blacks.
(the silver fern on the gumboots is actually white)

I mean props to the Maori 21 year old for starting a business, but I have a few misgivings.

Why is it ok for Harry to make comments about members of his family but it's not ok for Mike Tindall to do so ? 🤷

Nobody said it wasn't ok, it's just news, some reporters will report anything the Royals do - the good, the bad or ugly.

Some of the Royals like to joke around. Andrew was the biggest joker of them all apparently. King Charles likes to joke too.
I don't know, some people don't always get jokes.

Meaning she didn't find it funny. I don't know when she said it though or who she was referring to. The Royals liked to be entertained, but they are also entertainment for a lot of people themselves, just by being Royal.

Anyway watching Judi Dench play Queen Victoria in the movie Victoria & Abdul was entertaining, and if she was anything like the real Queen Victoria I would say she had a sense of humour, and didn't mind poking fun at herself or others.

Andrew - he was called 'Randy Andy'
Edward - made the terrible flop tv show called 'It's a royal knockout' which had the royals engaging in some kind of survivor reality show but with jousting

Queen - obsession with corgis
Prince Phillip - he made racist jokes about the people from almost every 'foreign' country he went to.
 
Some other news, think it was in the Independent --- you could follow the royals around everyday online if you wanted to, someone will report on what they are up to...

King Charles went to a Shakespeare play in Stratford -upon-Avon. It was a production of the Tempest. He sat in a seat, had a cup of tea, and touched the costumes. I think he clapped too.
There is a photo of him in the audience, looking amused.
Apparently he is a patron, well of course, Shakespeare wrote plays based on his family ancestors after all.

According to the BBC - Prince William praised his wife. The articles were saying that, something about her being amazing for going to Italy after she recovered from cancer. And he mentioned he ate scones with cream first, instead of jam first, then cream.

I don't think Harry did anything. No reporters are following him around, he probably likes it that way. He's probably got his feet up while his wife Meghan hosts another party on Netflix.

Some people think Freemasonry is not bad and have no part of the end time antichrist.

Oh actually I did its a popular new age theory, but I don't know if he really believes it.

There's certainly not one kind of Christianity - there's been so many splits and schisms. Anyway, you don't need to speculate, just ask him and see what he says.

King Charles, are you a member of the Freemasons and do you believe in their silly beliefs? Do you care to know about a lady called Alice Bailey, who is now deceased, saying stuff about how she is a prophet and all the Bible must be interpreted through her and a random Tibetan monk???

I mean, do you? Do you let Jehovahs Witnesses, or Mormons, or New Age hippies or Hare Krishnas who you don't know from a bar of soap, come to your door to try and convert you? Cos I don't. I pretend I'm not home.
 
I once stepped foot in a Freemasons club thing. They were using it as a venue for a book sale. All I saw was pictures of men wearing fancy robes. Maybe they go there at night and do these strange rituals I don't know. But if they really were sacrificing chickens or what not, wouldn't you know about it by hearing the headless chooks running round their backyards?

I mean most temples are great big chopping blocks and slaughterhouses because you don't get a bbq chicken, steak, or lamb kebab without one. Wasn't Isaac going to be sacrificed on an altar as a burnt offering before the Angel stopped Abraham from slitting his son's throat?

I think you have to be shown to be reliable and faithful to whatever field you are in, and of course, you can't nominate yourself.

Harry's uncle Andrew made the front page of the papers today with his misdemeanours that are now published in the latest edition of the muckraking book. 'Entitled: The rise and fall of the House of York'

His cover is blown, but those close to him already knew this about him anyway. You really have to arrest people to stop them doing something they don't know how to stop, that's hurting/harming others.

I think this news is not really new, but the NZ Herald published anyway probably cos they didn't have much other news to report today.

Ok that's not so bad, even laughable/entertaining. But um, yea the rich live in a different world. If you leave your favourite teddy bear behind in another country, you are going to order your servants to go fetch it for you. It doesn't matter how old you are, a royal Prince that will never be King will always be a man-child.
 
In the paper today - Something about Mr Andrew Windsor, the former Duke of York and his financial affairs.
The gist of it is he is surviving on the income from his sublet properties....there was an audit.

Of course this will only interest those who pay taxes in the UK to fund the Royal Family, so it was kinda not front page news. They have a lot of inherited property, but I think to maintain it all they need cashflow.

Anyway, he's not in jail or destitute or living on the streets. But you can now kinda understand why he was attracted to hanging out with the likes of Jeffrey Epstein, who had a lot of money to spend and homes he could stay in as a guest. Not sure how Epstein made his dough, but assume it has to do with stockmarket or something on Wall Street.

Are royals allowed to gamble or buy shares? Not sure. They aren't allowed to have 'normal' jobs. They have public duties as 'working royals' but if they don't want to do that not many options are open to them. In the armed forces they may be promoted but they can't stay in there for too long. According to this book I read about Prince Andrew, his mother tried to set him up so he could make a living being the second son who wouldn't be King, but am not sure she succeeded in the end. By the time he grew up he was acting like a spoiled brat and it was too late. He served in the Navy as a helicopter pilot.

His military career meant he was away a lot to the detriment of his marriage. Fergie didn't like being left alone for too long. Anyway not my problem, and he has to face the music - do you think there is any way he can be redeemed?

Harry's been in trouble with the charities he's on the board of. Apparently theres been some human rights abuses that he's overlooked. They can all deny they have any knowledge of this and state 'categorically' and 'emphatically' this or that, or feign ignorance, but come on...now you KNOW what are you going to do about it???
 
The Royals of Monaco operate casinos..that's how they keep afloat. But I don't know what the Brit Royals can do aside from opening their homes/palaces as tourist destinations....??

The Brit royals have been supported by the UK for years and years. Millions and millions each year. After a couple years you are talking about real money. I do believe however that a few years the UK turned off the money tap. Citizens there consider the royals to be parasites.
