I can't even make sense of it. Am not familiar with the Daily Mail as I don't read it or live where it is published, but from what I know of certain kinds of journalism (my dad worked for the NZ Herald) reporters will chase any story they believe has merit, and get their copy from anyone who wants to talk about it. And often, the thing for top news stories and headlines is...If it bleeds, it leads.
* my dad wasn't a reporter in case wondering. He just made up the paper back in the day, did layout etc. Mostly classifieds. What he will tell you as apart from subscriptions, the paper runs on moneys from advertising. If they can't attract advertising, they are sunk.

Hes's a respected journalist apparently, not a Royal Reporter. I guess that because the Royals are always being watched, they need special reporters to hide them from scrutiny when they get in trouble.

Well in this book (you can read all about it yourself) which I suppose would be serialised in the Daily Mail --we don't have that in NZ and only have cartoons as political commentary --- it is revealed all the facts and figures of Andrew and Fergies spending habits and business deals.
I don't know where he got the financial records from, maybe they have Annual Reports or he went to investigate the Swiss Banks or something. It sort of glosses over what their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie do for a living. I am not quite clear on that.
Anyway I don't suppose its news to anyone, but I thought maybe its worth mentioning, since apparently the Royals are funded by the UK taxpayers. They pay tax. or rent, or rates, to the biggest landlords on the planet. The Queen had something like 5 different palaces/castles/residences and 56 countries.
I can't imagine someone that wealthy, but her head was on all the money, the coins as well as the $20 note. She also had her head on all the British stamps, that came in different colours, they never had any other pictures on their stamps like we do.
In the book, various people/sources talk about what it's like to work with or for Andrew, they don't always say good things about him. Fergie comes across as a spendthrift...
I don't know why Andrew denied knowing Virginia Roberts/Guiffre. But reading this book it seems like he had hundreds if not thousands of women, and simply can't remember them all. I don't know why he said he didn't sweat. I mean, most people do! Maybe he meant he didn't 'sweat' but he 'perspired' or 'glowed'. Or he uses extra strong anti-perspirant that lasts a week, I don't know. Virginia claimed he did, when they were dancing in the Tramp nightclub.
Andrew also claimed on the night in question of the infamous photograph of them together that he wasn't there he was at Pizza Express with his daughters. ??
One of my walking buddies who's from the UK and used to live near Windsor Castle said she saw Royals all the time out and about, and said she always saw Fergie at McDonalds. ?? I thought she was meant to be a Weight Watcher?

Maybe he didn't realised thats what the press do (and have always done) when they can't get an interview. But this is the guy who went on stage dressed as Ronald McDonald and expected everyone to take him seriously. He was gay and got married to a lady who knew he was gay. How does that make sense? Some people will always fill in the gaps if they are not sure what to make of celebs who deny they are on cocaine and behave strangely.

I remember reading in Spare, that when Harry was single he lived in what he called 'Nottcott' which was a little cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace in London (where his mother lived, also known as 'KP') . KP was also known as 'The Aunt Heap' where many unmarried Royal spinsters lived.
Nottcott was a grace and favour residence ie where the servants could stay for free. It would probably be too small for Harry and his family now.
When he married Meghan they were going to live in a place called Frogmore (maybe it had a lot of frogs turned princes?) but it seems now Andrew Frog lives there.
Meghan wasn't happy there so they decided to up sticks and move to sunny California where she is from.
So it remains to be seen when Harry and co move back home just where he is going to stay. If the children need to go to school, it has to be sort of near chauffering distance. And I don't think he can stay near William and Kate as that would be too near and he possibly has a restraining order on William (ok, William beat him up once, but I can understand why he wouldn't want to live in the same place they live)
Anyway, let's hope this time when they return they aren't going to be up in arms about it, and that Meghan is happy - she has to think about the children's future anyway. They can't do another Windsor and exile to France, and they can't live in the Bermudas. Paper today had about H&M's UK return (did they actually leave and come back, or did they just stay in the UK and have been staying there all this time?) title 'American Nightmare' on the front page on the NZ Herald, with H&M pictured together wearing (american) baseball caps.
The only news that is different is that they will be staying in a non-royal residence, somewhere in Cornwall its suggested. Possibly go to school there (maybe not boarding)
Otherwise a lot of questions hang in the air because Harry once insisted on leaving and not coming back without security. The paper brought up their past business attempts, that didn't really take off, the controversial Oprah interview, and how they can't be 'half in, half out' at least while the Queen was still alive. It's said that her stance has not changed at Buckingham Palace, and its unseemly for them to do charity work for financial gain.
So there's not a lot of options because the King's brothers and sister well, Andrew Frog has been demoted and nearly retired age anyway so he can sort of live on a pension or rental earnings or whatever the Sovereign Purse has for him rather than put him in jail with all the other plebs. His ex-wife Fergie has done all sorts of ventures now she is not a royal anymore but for financial gain (Weight Watcher's ambassador, children's author etc, nothing Meghan hasn't already attempted or tried)
But it's their children that need some sort of stability if they are not going to, heaven forbid, divorce.
Royal commentators (I suppose this includes me) are just pointing out it's a bit hypocritical to not stick to their guns, but I suppose there is no harm in being the prodigal son and admitting you need to come back home and be a servant in your dad's house again. It's just Meghan doesn't really want to. She can't go on tv in Britain because the public don't really like her that much, and she can't act her way out of it nobody will believe her if she puts on a plummy English accent.
Safety concerns aren't really for her, she's a survivor, but its more the children...are they going to be bullied at school??? They are already on the back foot, being priveliged and royal lineage and half American, the other children are going to gang up on them! They've already enrolled. I imagine it may be a prestigious private school, maybe a prep school for Eton. Meghan went to a Catholic girls school, that was very expensive in California. She also went to Northwestern University which was highly regarded.
Harry barely scraped by his Eton education and didn't go to university, he enrolled in the Army. In any case it will be the best their money can buy maybe, and I suppose on legacy scholarship or grandfathered into it. But I think they need to be aware British Schools have a reputation for bullying.

Pretty much nothing new, although I miss read and it was Cotswolds suggested stay near dad's Highgrove residence not Cornwall. (Even though Camilla was Duchess of Cornwall). Also H&M have a summer bach in Portugal.
The only thing of note is that Meghan says she's worried she can't do the school run. Well can't Harry do it?? Nobody is going to paparazzi him because how did he ever get to school when he was growing up? I can only think of a handful of times he was photographed going to school and it was never shots of them in the car IDK.
Besides these children have two legs. They can walk to school right? On their own, like most kids do. I mean the school drop off is only for those who are too lazy or live too far away to get there in time. Oh ok, maybe they need a minder, but won't they have a nanny? Or at school, maybe a teacher aide (it can be not just for slow kids or those with behavioural problems) .
My dad always drove us (and sometimes carpooled my friends on the way) and I very much doubt the paps have nothing better to do than get stuck in traffic papping people's kids on their way to school. Never mind it is their problem I suggest if Megan wants to take her kids to school (assuming she had got her British drivers licence) and get stuck in traffic instead of them taking the bus like normal kids then she'll just have to deal with it.
