Our car is under part of this thick tree branch there are 5 smaller trunks of trees that have grown together and a storm Wednesday night took out about half of one of the 5 trees and landed on top of our car.

SPEAK YOUR MIND..........
So may times when I read through this particular thread I get a song stuck in my mind.
From the Newsboys 1996 album "Take me to your leader" the song "Breakfast" (because that seems to be what's on a lot of peoples minds). It's a funny, thought provoking song; like much of their music from the 90's was.

(classic, original)
NEWSBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I will have this song stuck in my mind for a while.

HEY, instead of Speak Your Mind , maybe there should be a "stuck on your mind" thread for sharing those  um what do they call them? Earbugs? You know, when a song gets stuck in your head.

I am really surprised there is not more damage to the car as there was a lot of tree on the top. Needs dent fixed on top of car, new windshield and a new outside mirror on drivers side. We had a straight line wind 60mph come through and hit the house I just said a quick prayer Dear Lord please keep us safe and he did. Felt the house shake wondered if the roof was going to come off and heard a BIG BOOM which was the tree landing on the car. We are safe the car not so much. Thankful and praising God that as far as I know no one in town was hurt just a lot of trees down a few on cars and at least one or two on houses but this was not a tornado. I now have a healthy respect for straight line winds. Loudest thing I have ever heard coming and could feel it hit the house and felt like it had a life of it's own. A real force of nature for sure.

A little closer to see the smashed windshield. We are in contact with insurance people and working on an adjuster coming and finding a body shop for repairs. God even protected the car because there was a lot of weight on it as that tree was big and I have been working on it for a couple of days.

Jerry got started cutting of limbs and got a big chunk of it cut off and then both of us have been putting it in the ditch as the city will probably be coming by soon to pick up and get rid of the tree debris. There is still a lot to cut up and put in the ditch.

A couple of fellas in the neighborhood came to help Jerry get it off the top of the car they are in the pictures above this post.

Since most threads seem to have trouble staying on topic I thought I would simply start one that has no topic and just see where it goes. So, in that vein, Speak Your Mind.
Me master of going off topic.

I wonder if the antichrist will soon take control?

Glad your alright!
Hopefully, it won't be much to fix the car. Insurance??? (I mean, will it help cover this?)

I was listening to a loud, fast storm late one night. It blew so loud and hard against the corners of the house, and all I could think was "imagine what they heard in the book of Acts when there was "a sound like a mighty rushing wind that filled the house".

We are fine. Right as the 60mph straight line wind hit the house I said a prayer Dear Lord please keep us safe and he did.. The house is o.k. too just the damage that you see to the car and some things that were on our porch were blown off into the yard and turned over on the porch.

Crazy thing is in an earlier weather report in the week we weren't even supposed to get rain that day and then this storm came through causing this damage and taking out the electricity for a lot of us in Jamestown TN at about 2-2:30 AM. Power was back on for us around 8:30 AM Thursday morning.

WOW! That first picture where you said your car was under the tree, I sure thought was going to be worse. I'm sure you were relieved to find it wasn't worse.

We are working on an insurance claim and are supposed to get a rental car on this coming Tuesday afternoon. I will be calling to try and find a body shop to do the repairs on Monday as we just heard back from our insurance agent this Friday afternoon and too late to call them today.

There was a tremendous amount of weight on the car God did answer my prayer and even though damage to the car I was shocked that there wasn't more when they got the tree off of it. God protection and Nissan must make strong cars, but I'd like to think an angel helped the tree land a little softer because we are still cutting up the tree to get it ready for removal.

I am glad you had your privileged conversation with her and that the connection is so deep. Maybe she just needed a friend.

Unfortunately when you approach people the way she did you are not going to get high fives and smiles and giggles all around... don't know what she was expecting... and by the way if you can't read into my sarcasm after your best friend tried to belittle people here by calling them "little" you must also grow up. I can at least acknowledge when I am ignorant...
You haven't truly acknowledged any such thing. If you had, then you'd be repenting before God, the forum member that you insulted, and the other forum members here for your horrible example. In reality, all that you've done is to attempt to justify your own sinful actions while projecting your own sins unto others.

For example, you speak of her approach, and what was your own? You initiated your conversation with her by unjustifiably calling her "a good old-fashioned troll". How about this instead? You're a bad, old-fashioned undiscerning jerk. Try that on for size, and it will fit you perfectly.

Furthermore, I never said that she was my "best friend", but I guess that's just more of your self-justifying "sarcasm", right?

Lastly, I haven't acknowledged any ignorance in this matter nor will I because, unlike you, I actually took the time to engage her in private conversation to see what she was actually talking about. You know, that horrible little thing called "conversation". Having actually conversed with her, I fully agree with her assessment of what she was actually referring to.

Before I leave you in your self-justifying ignorance, I'll let you know that I'm praying that the Lord Jesus Christ himself rebukes you. If/when he does, and if you have any fear of God whatsoever, then you'll abhor yourself and repent when he shows you the gravity of your offense here.

You can have the last wrong word.

Isaiah chapter 42

[1] Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
[2] He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
[3] A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
[4] He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

I really wish that I had learnt how to sew. I have spent the last few hours trying to fit these chair covers properly. They need adjusting and sewing. I am trying with elastic and safety pins but it really isn't cutting it.

I'm afraid I can't help you there.. Sewing is not one of the skills I possess 🤔😂.

Best thing to do is have a coffee break and think it over.... Something like, I'll get back to that next week 😎😂🤣
