Sorry Kav but I don't agree. Both the Bible and experience say different.

And before you poo-poo experience, just let me say that when the Bible says 'do this and you'll see that', then you do this and see that, that experience is totally in line with scripture and therefore valid.

Experience is not the validator of spiritual truth as taught today. Have a dream it is eveidence a person has the Holy Spirit, or have what some call a out of body experience as evidence of the Holy Spirit or a near death experience .

Jesus experienced what some call a out of body experience and was shown all the kingdoms, and the glory of them without moving an inch .Which was simply the father of lies brining in false wonders as lies . All there time Christ said; as it is written the experience of His fleshly mind went away .

We are warned of those things that go above that which is written. The Christians one source of faith by which they can hear God "not seen" by the faith of Christ, again as it iswritten .

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Mathew 4:2-10

One mediator, the written word of God between God and man. Not fallen angels who bring lying wonders and God sends a strong delusion so they can beleive the lie.

Colossians 2:18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind

I will never forget when my friend (who previously attended an Assemblies of God church) went to a Bible study at his Pastor's house once a week and sometimes the Pastor would speak in tongues during their Bible study. My friend worked with a woman who was Baptist that was terrified of being around people who spoke in tongues, yet my friend convinced her to come to the Bible study to see for herself that she has nothing to fear. When his lady friend showed up at the Bible study, as soon as she walked in the door, the Pastor began speaking in tongues very loudly with his hands high in the air, then he fell backwards to the floor! My friend said that even he was freaked out by the incident and when he turned around, his lady friend was running for the hills!
And rightly so. Run or expose the lie.

Falling backward as slain in the spirit is another sign that confirms the work of the spirit of the father of lies just like tongues God speaking in other languages other than Hebrew alone, is turned upside down as if it supported words without meaning.

Both Judas an apostle and Dan as a tribe are used to represent those under the fiery judgment of God(no faith) both missing in the book of Revelation as description of the bride of Christ .

Falling back, or backward is synonymous with being under the firery judgement of God. It is used many times to represent unbelief(no faith) Its how the father of lies the counterfeiter makes the word of God without effect using scripture turn it upside down as if the doctrine of God was inspired from earth

Genesis 49:17Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.John 18:4-6

1 Samuel 4:18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.

The appearance of tongues were an outward sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit in new believers. Charismatics and Pentecostals do their thing and then endeavor to find scriptural support afterwards.

For the cause of Christ
Roger

Again I would offer no such thing as a outward sign gifts (Charismaticism )as evidence of the Holy Spirit. Or any other Christian group that has been baptized with water has not received the Holy Spirit and would be in need of seeking after it .

(For we walk by faith, not by sight)2 Corinthians 5:7 .......................................….the eternal not seen , not by observation, the temporal seen

Water baptism like tongues.( God mocking the Jews) who mocked prophecy, the word of God making as it is written to no effect as sign seekers. Both has its roots in the old testament. Water baptism as a ceremonial law, a shadow of that to come that was extended into the new testament to represent the desire of one to be a member of the priesthood of believers .All believers make up the kingdom of Priest sent as Ambassadors for Christ from where they have their birth records, Zion the heavenly City prepared as the bride of Christ.

It's odd that you quote a verse that talks about people being deluded about things not seen, when that phrase is one of your hallmarks.

You're making doctrine from narrative; which is usually a bad idea.

The examples you gave don't make a doctrine anyway. If a horse rears up, it's rider will fall backwards; simple as that. There is nothing about the rider (who is not Dan himself!) being under the influence of the father of lies. The others are completely unrelated, and there is nothing that suggests they fell specifically backwards because they were under the influence of something unclean.

Written media is the one source of Christian faith as a law . Called the law of faith or law of the unseen The living word of Christ is the one mediator between God and man.

Not seen by a faith (Christ's) that alone comes as it is written in that verse (Colossians 2:18) represents a strong delusion that comes from believing fallen angels as a impossible source of faith . The delusion are sent by God to those who go above that which is written .
We can look at the example of the Son on man he repeatedly said again and again it is written is the excusive source of faith . If experience was the validator of spirit truth not seen then the Son of man failed the test in Mathew 4

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth (as it is written) , that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, (as it is written) but had pleasure in unrighteousness.2 Thessaloninans 2:7-12

If the history of the Pentecost movement is examined, one fact is very clear: at some point between about 1906 and 1907, Pentecostal/Charismatic leaders were compelled to re-examine the narrative of Scripture with respect to “tongues”.
Upon what historical facts to you base this claim? I'd like to examine this alleged historical fact for myself, so please include your sources.

Its not the horse that caused the falling backward as a indication a person is under the fiery judgement of God. The name God gave Dan. Dan means; judge, representing the letter of the law that kills .

The serpent represents the father of lies brining lying prophecy . Sign that follow the believer. Not lead required by sign seekers or no belief)The sign is that false prophecy, as poison... it will not harm those who believe true prophecy. Those who do not go above as it is written.

Genesis 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

The Son of man, Christ Jesus. who speaks the living words of God not seen . No fleshly mediator as a daysman or Pope... set between God and man.

The Son of man resisted worship in respect to His temporal form seen .When called good master teacher ,He replied, giving glory to the father not seen .Only God (not seen) is good. We walk according to his work of faith or labor of His love that works in us to both will and do His good pleasure as a imputed righteousness (not of our own selves lest any man boast in false pride)

I suspect your thoughts make sense to you, but once written out, they don't make sense.

The quote is there for you to read, yet you misinterpret it.

In the verse, Dan is the serpent. Dan is not the father of lies. Sometimes a snake is just a snake.

In the verse, there is no judgment.

In the verse, there is no indication that the rider has done anything wrong. Yet you assert that he is "under the fiery judgment of God".

That is eisegetical speculation and logical fallacy... "something bad happened to the rider therefore he must be under the judgement of God". Sorry, not valid.

You claimed that "the word of God" is the mediator. Scripture says Christ Himself is the mediator. You are in error. It's time to admit your error, not to throw red herrings.

The Son of man resisted worship in respect to His temporal form seen .
No, He didn't. John 20:28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

There was no resisting, no sidestepping, no redirecting.

In your example, Jesus didn't resist worship; He questioned the man as to his understanding of "good".

Remember without parables the signified language of God. Christ the Holy Spirit spoke not ,hiding the spiritual meaning or hidden Manna in the metaphors used.

The serpent is used as a metaphor in that parable .It represents the father of lies. His poison, the poison of a adder is false prophecy as a sign that follow after, not required to seek after before one believes they are being filled with the Holy Spirit. That kind of poison as false prophecy will not harm the believer who refuses to go above that which is written.

The parable below reads...…

Note...…( purple in parenthesis) my added comments

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (prophecy in every language of the world and no longer Hebrew alone )They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing (false prophecy) , it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.Mark 16:17-18

Falling back is synonymous to the fiery judgment of God throughout scripture.

What happened is a person drank the poison as false prophecy as a lying sign and wonder and was not born again . The sign seekers have actually tried to drink literal poison and died .

The father of lies, Satan, below is reckoned as a serpent, as a murder from the beginning

Geneisis 3:1-3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (false prophrecy)

Psalm 58:4Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

Psalm 140:3They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. (false prophets )Selah

Deuteronomy 32:24They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

Deuteronomy 32:33Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.(false prophecy)

He questioned the man as to his understanding of "good"and said only God (not seen) is good. Good represents Him not seen .No fleshly daysman or what Catholics call a Pope .

God was not promoting walking by sight as if the kingdom of God came by observation as those who must seek after signs as lying wonders (false prophecy) .He used it as a object lesson and call Thomas "faithless" (no faith) .not little but none, zero , zip .

Are you a Catholic?

The verse does not say "God not seen alone is good". It says, "God alone is good". Jesus IS God. Jesus didn't reject being called 'good', and He didn't reject worship. Jesus accepted Thomas' worship, "My Lord and my God".

I said nothing about the pope; that was your idea, which I already tossed. You can get off that train now.

Nothing changed, other than a synonymous term. I previously asserted that Dan was the serpent.

It isn't a parable; it's a prophecy. You are making assertions that have not been established as fact. Therefore you are going above what is written.

The parable below reads...…
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (prophecy in every language of the world and no longer Hebrew alone )They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing (false prophecy) , it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.Mark 16:17-18
This isn't a parable either, but again, a prophecy.

Falling back is synonymous to the fiery judgment of God throughout scripture.
You tried that already; you gave three examples and I showed that they don't establish your point.

What happened is a person drank the poison as false prophecy as a lying sign and wonder and was not born again .
That is not consistent with Scripture. It's a prophecy about Dan being like an adder that causes a horse to stumble. It has nothing to do with drinking "poison as false prophecy".

The sign seekers have actually tried to drink literal poison and died .
Irrelevant.

The father of lies, Satan, below is reckoned as a serpent, as a murder from the beginning
...
Deuteronomy 32:33Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.(false prophecy)
You're going in circles. Start with a sound basis for your position; you haven't got one yet.

Jesus used that occurrence with Thomas as a object lesson "not to be faithless" (no faith ) not little but none, as the wrong manner of spirit, same wrong manner of spirit in respect to the apostles in Luke 9 when Christ hid the spiritual understanding of the parable.(prophecy) Because when they understood not they would play the game "who is the greatest" rejecting the Son of man who stood in front of them three times with three denoting the end of the matter . Three strikes and you're out

But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. Luke9: 55

We do not wrestle against flesh and blood So if I get off my train should I jump on your high horse, sister?

Parables is signified prophecy using the things seen the temporal in order to give us the unseen eternal understanding the manner of mixing faith in what we do hear .The same upside down manner Thomas and the Apostles in Luke 9 did not use

Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them without, all these things are done in parables:...……………..( no spiritual understanding)

It applies to the parable(prophecy) using Dan.

speaking in tongues (praying in the Holy Spirit) is not a gift that is dispersed within a Pentecostal church as
explained in 1Corinthians 13 and 14.
Speaking in tongues is a daily prayer language which is described by Jesus and the Apostles as a sign of true baptism
or infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Read Acts for clarification of this along with Mark 16:15-20.

Nick - baptized in water on 30th October 1996 and baptized in the Holy Spirit on 1st December 1996 with the
Bible evidence of speaking in a new tongue.
This is quite different to operating the voice gift of diversities of tongues along with interpretation that we conduct
in our worship meetings.
Does this mean that Nick decided to live for God in October, but God didn’t save him until December?

You don't seem to be able to track the elements of a conversation beyond the post you're quoting.

YOU introduced the pope to the discussion, then when I told you that you were off base, you asked if I was a Catholic, and now this. I shake my head.

By the way, I'm not your 'sister'.
