I've got something I'm worried about and I'd like your guys' opinion on it:
If we notice something we could be doing better in the physical realm, does that mean our relationship with God is suffering? I really don't know how to word it better than that. I'll give you the situation that brought this to my mind; I'm sure it'll make better sense:
One night I was talking with a girl, and it came up in our conversation that she had hurt her leg the last evening. I asked what happened, and the conversation went on. The next time I saw her the next day, I asked about how her foot was doing, and she didn't hesitate to remind me that it was her leg. Needless to say, I felt like a jerk, but I didn't focus on my error so much that it brought me down or anything.
I got to thinking, "If I don't apparently care enough to listen to someone who I can see with my eyes, am I listening to God like I should be?"
Now, I know I can't base this kind of thing off of one problem. I also know I'm not perfect, blah blah blah.
Is it a safe assumption (or conclusion) to make that the root of this kind of problem is with my relationship with God, as in I'm not listening to Him?
And like the last question, could things in the physical be an indication that something in the spiritual is awry?
