These articles shed light on a serious issue. As the scriptures wisely say, quick wealth often leads to downfall, and the love of money can bring about all sorts of problems. Perhaps it's time for a broader conversation about how we approach gambling and its impact on society.

You bring up a good point about the potential downsides of gambling. It’s definitely worth having a broader conversation about its impact on society. Personally, I prefer gambling online where you can set limits to your spending.
If you're interested, online slots offer a way to enjoy gambling with more control over your spending. It's a safer way to play without the risk of spending too much. You can check out some options at https://happily-bleeding.com/. For me, sometimes it's a way to unwind and to enjoy my time, to let go of some things that bother me a lot.

I am speaking of gambling in a casino, racetrack, lottery and sports betting. I am not addressing the stock market which to be fair, is gambling for some folks. My main thrust is that gambling legal or otherwise is a vice motivated by greed. It is my position that Christians should avoid gambling all together and oppose state sanctioned gambling specifically. It puts the state in a position to prey on its most vulnerable citizens for financial gain. Our ancestors knew this and sought to punish all such wickedness and vice. Simply creating a category of people as "Problem Gamblers" implies that others are "responsible" implies that the state is relieved of any culpability. This is utter nonsense.

Dr. Jordan Peterson tackles the issue from a secular point of view.

Jordan Peterson is a grifter and the King of word salad. Ask him a sample yes or no question like do you believe in God and watch him break out the tap dancing shoes.

Great, an ad hominem attack that doesn't actually address the subject. Thanks for wasting everyone's time.

The lottery is a tax on the mathematically-challenged.

i might buy 2 or 3 scratch offs a year. and that is it.

Yeah, Jordan Peterson is usually nuclear level cringe He's right about the psychology of gambling.
As for it, being a sin, gambling isn't mentioned anywhere in the Bible

I throw money away on bad entertainment too. Nothing wrong with that if it's entertaining.

If we are going to give an account for every word, we are likely to give an account for every dollar.

A prayer is cheaper, and time better spent. God doesn't need to see a lottery ticket in your hand to give you money. I suppose empty hands could hold more.
