With the pandemic many believers are experiencing lockdowns and restrictions and of course for many regular churchgoers, losing out on outside fellowship face to face takes some adjusting to, as do people who work outside the home in their jobs.

But what Ive found interesting it that the stay at home mothers, the homeschoolers, homesteaders and the house churches are instead of encouraging each other, have this sort of smugness of 'I told you so' to the ones who have to adjust.

Of course there is really no place like home and thats the best place to be..but for many, their homes or place they reside isnt really THEIR home at all

So instead of being smug and saying well too bad. How about we help those who are struggling make themselves at home where they are. Giving tips and encourgement and the benefits of these times where you really do have to do your homework!

My tip, if you can have your own room, make space! Clear out some clutter so that you can have a quiet space to pray. Or a little corner where you can read, like a nook, tent, and fill it with cushions. May as well get comfy. Who says that comfort only means sitting on the couch and watching tv?

sorry I shoulda put this in the misc or family forum.

But what does the Bible say about staying at home?
When the Israelites were going through the ten plagues, they marked their doorposts of their dwellings with the blood of the lamb so the angel of death would 'passover' them

They also ate unleavened bread as they were in a hurry to leave the next day. What can we learn from this?

God wants to save his people and everyone in their households. So even if a stranger lodged with an Israelite they were included.

This does remind me of the last century when many gentiles hid jewish people in their homes eg the most famous of all Anne Frank.

It is a big deal and not nice to be separated or have to go into hospital and be apart from loved ones.

Are you suggesting that one verse from Exodus, given in a unique situation, is directly applicable for Christians today?
