Have you (plural) ever prayed and asked if you were to remain single?
Could you accept the answer of yes, from God? I see many threads
dedicated to finding a mate or like manner threads.

Yes, I have and, yes, I could, but I don't think it's God's plan for my life. I think it has probably been for the best that I have been single from the time my husband passed away until my son was grown (he's in college now) so that I could spend more time with God and my son during our healing process. Now, my son is a man and is more open to the idea of someone new coming into my life, as am I (I think he worries about beginning his own life and "leaving me alone", but he really shouldn't :) ). I think there's a reason for that. God has perfect timing. BUT, if I'm wrong (and it doesn't seem that I am), I really am okay with being single.

I would be satisfied if I never got married. One is a whole number. Of course I would like to get married and have all the romance that goes with it. But if that doesnt happen I'm not going to let it spoil my life. I know there is a movie where the guy says to the girl " you compleat me" That just makes me want to puke! I would like all the single people to know that they are whole and perfect the way God made them. I really think that if you need someone to compleat you, you are disfunktional. But as for now I am not looking for any man. I have to many problems I have to work out right now. I dont think Im good dating material right now. I dont think I am putting myself down by saying that. I think that I am being wise not to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. I am on disablity for bypolor disorder and I have some depression right now. I also have diabeties. I have been sleeping a lot. I went to the dr.s to get some tests done. I need to find out if the sleeping is from some thing physical. If not than I know its my depression. I am at poverty level income and I dont have a car. I dont want to date a man who wants a women like me. I think I would end up with a guy who thinks Im needy or thinks I have low self esteem and wants to control and abuse me. Its happend before. But I am none of those. Whats really funny is the shocked look on their face when I wont put up with their crap and tell them to get lost.Sorry I got off topic a bit.

I don't need to pray about it. It just comes naturally. Waaay too naturally!

Although I do not believe that God's lifelong plan for me is to remain single, I have reached a point in life that I am content with being single. Yes, I would prefer to have a partner to share life and experiences with; but I would prefer singleness to being in a relationship outside of God's will.

I have thought about it many times, and prayed over it. I guess in a way I never directly prayed asking God if I was meant to stay single. I know there have been times when I thought thats how it would be and would tell God I was accepting of this. Other times I have prayed for a husband, also that I wanted the guy God created for me. But if I sit back and look at all those times the answers I can remember is that he has made a man for me. I also believe this fully because of the desires for a family and children that are in my heart. I feel like they get stronger every day! I do believe there are people who are meant to be single for life, like Paul, and that God will do amazing things with their lives!

I think about this, myself. I've never felt driven to persue a romantic relationship, and I wonder if this lack of desire for a mate has some purpose behind it. I still have a sex drive, and the fantasy of having a wife and kids is remains a nice thought, but as time goes by, the more I sense that it's just not for me. My only concern is that 30 years down the line, I'll regret never marrying and producing offspring, but what can you do.

Trax, I know this response is not on topic but, that cat in your'e avatar is beautiful. Is that a Russian Blue?

I kind of think its a warped romantic dream to imagine that everyone will find "the one". I think alot of people don't. So they either settle, or end up single. Quite honestly, its better to stick to your standards.

^ which could be the reason the divorce rate among christians is as high as among non-christians^

Does this sound like a situation where the guy is going to love his wife as Christ loves the Church...to the point of being willing to give his life for her?
Not to me...

I have prayed many times to God to send me a husband, but i never asked Him if i was going to remain single because i never thought that to be single all my life was an option or possibility, I didnt plan my life as a married woman, but i thought that with the time i was going to find "the one" and get marry and have children like many ppl do.

His mother was calico stray that showed up at the place I worked. Not a spot of gray on her. She
had two gray and two gray/white kittens. Dunno what the father was, but I do suspect he was
gray. I took the two grays home. Is there a way to post pics in the profile? I'll post the two
together, if I can.

Pretty kitty. What are your cats names? I used to have a gray cat called Silver Bell.

If i was to remain single for the rest of my life I would probably just become a priest, because as of now the only reason I haven't entered the seminary is because I honestly don't believe I could live my whole life single. As is I don't think I can honestly post on this forum for much longer (thanks be to God).

Kashmir is the kitten on the deck. Seiko is the other small cat, which is around 10 years old now.
The two cats together are Kashmir and Trax. Trax is in the front.

Not sure what you're saying here, subsan?

Why are you not thinking you can post in this forum much longer.

Is that you or God speaking. Remember who holds the key ;)

The Lord leads. :)

Because if all goes to plan I won't be single much longer (but the best laid plans of mice and men you know).
