Finding a job can be very exhausting and discouraging and if I may I will share my journey to finding the job I have. This past April/May I applied for an accounting job at a local dealership that I heard about through the grapevine. However, I needed to keep my options open and applied for several jobs while still in school one of which had its own "superhero" which I thought was kinda cool. Anywho, I didn't get it and was discouraged so I called to check in with the dealership and talked to the HR director and she was so nasty over the phone and I felt like someone hit me in the stomach with a baseball bat. A couple weeks go by so I mustered up the courage to call back and they could not find my application, cover letter, or resume I was devastated and about to have a coronary because I didn't know what to do. The assistant told me to breathe and asked if I saved it on my computer, I say yes and she said to email it to her directly and she would take care of it personally....only there was one problem, i couldn't find it on my computer. I started balling and my friend grabbed my laptop and within seconds she found it and we sent the email. Fast forward, I graduated without hearing anything and got a letter in the mail from my auto insurance company about hiring people to work in their finance office so I called and inquired information and landed an interview within two days, I went and as I was leaving the meeting I fell down a flight of concrete stairs messing up my ankle (I knew I should not have taken the stairs haha!) I had to take a class and personality test that evening before qualifying for my second interview. I went home iced my foot/ankle and heard about a couple more jobs to check out which turned out to be dead ends. I was feeling hopeless again and called the dealership to inquire about the job to see if by chance it was still available, it wasn't
However, I was transferred to the accounting controller and a position just became available that morning as one of her employees gave her two weeks notice and she tried scaring me out of the job which didn't work too well lol. She then told me that I was qualified for the position and would love to sit down with me the next day....so I showed up to the interview in two inch heels and my sore ankle and got a phone call about an hour later stating I got the job. I've been working there five months and counting, I already got a raise and looking to move into a different department which would mean a major pay increase. Why did I share this??? Well, its a story of not giving up on something that God has already put in motion. Just because a job may not look promising does not mean its not meant for you. Hold on to your faith and declare all of God's promises over your life. I know you will find the job God has for you and I pray that he continues to prepare you for it
