Huh? I'm making fun of myself now lemme do it .. do you need a hug ? Cuzz I will come after you flames and all..

Oh great. Now I'm trying to think of a stereotype for people who give out flaming hugs...

I have no type Seoul lol!!!
ill just confuse people if they try to figure me
Out .. Obviously

I agree that stereotypes did start somewhere, and there will always be those that do fit into them. I'm glad, however, that the OP mentioned not 'fox-holing' people into that stereotype just based on appearance.

Now, what I will say, is that we should be able to critically (not the judgmental form of this word...) evaluated people, situations, ext. There's a difference between judging someone and understanding whether or not giving them a gun and suitcase of money is good idea or not. ^^0 It's fine line, but the separation still exists.

I resemble some of the remarks on here, though...so that is proof enough that some cultures and stereotypes just gives aid to the belief that they are more or less accurate most of the time. Then again, just like Liamson noted, the way one is 'raised' is a natural factor in how they think, feel, act, etc...and takes time, maturity, and understanding to break or affirm for chosen reason over impressed experience.

Now excuse me ..... I happen to see tore down there on the list of names ... Time for a WWF leap..

Or they help you to prepare for the outrageously bad tip you're about to get. ;)
Yes..I was a waiter for a few years & I remember every Sunday afternoon the church crowd would come in & no one wanted to wait on them because they were demanding, messy, let their kids run everywhere, sat for hours & hours so that you couldn't turn over the table to make more $$,and then to add insult to injury they'd never tip..they'd leave those stupid & insulting tracks that look like money & then on the back they have some little line about..."oh you can't store up riches in heaven, but Jesus can save yer' soul" or some cookie cutter christian-esque drivel. I felt really ashamed to even be known as a christian sometimes because of seeing how Jesus was being represented. So it became a running joke & a true stereotype ...when the church goers would stumble in,everyone would look at each other & grumble..."Well, here's to not making any $$ for the next 3 hrs!" and sure enough...never once did any of the church peeps leave a tip. Pathetic. Sorry for the rant & derail Catlynn. lol

So true. -_-

My pastor once asked everyone to raise their hand who was a server in a restaurant and over half the congregation raised their hands. Then he said, guys...tip your servers. No one is going to want to know anything about God when you leave them a piece of paper instead of money. Just don't do it.

Sundays are aaaallllwaaaayyyys the worst.

I always try to tip, and encourage others to do so... but I'm also a poor college student who likely makes less than the waitress I'm tipping...so...I'm sorry they're all under $10 tips, but I just don't have the money Kim! I don't have it! You're a FANTASTIC WAITRESS!!! Y-Y I'm sorry...okay? One day...(if I ever make poverty level or above salary) I'll tip you $10, $15, or even $20...alright?!

=p I suppose I could have inserted 'Cat' in place of Kim, too. Btw, Kim is possibly one of the best waitresses on the planet at my local Ihop...

My motto is...if yer' wanting to dine out & you don't have any money for a tip...then take yer' fat buns to the grocery store & buy some mac & cheese...stay home & eat in!

I heard a saying once: "If you're too poor to tip, you're too poor to go out to eat."

(That is NOT directed to you at all, Asif... I'm just venting my own thoughts is all!!) I also heard a proverb once about a little boy in an old-fashioned ice cream parlor who asked the waitress a millions questions about the two types of sundaes he could choose from and how much they cost because he only had so much money--sorry I can't remember it all to write it here. But anyway... after the little boy had questioned the waitress to death and she was clearly very irritated, she left the table and didn't come back until later. The reason the boy had asked so many questions... was because he was trying to make sure he had enough money left over for her tip. He chose the less expensive sundae to make sure he had something to leave her.)

I think service people have some of the hardest jobs in the world. I've worked in customer service all my life and to be frank, it's a (edited) real bummer. People are rude as (edited again) all get-out and they have to deal with that 24/7.

If I'm with someone who doesn't tip enough... I add to the pile. I almost always try to tip 25% unless it was really lousy service, then I try to do 15% (I don't even know what the going rate is now?) so for any wait staff I've cheated out there, I'm sorry and will try to do better. (I don't go out to eat much!)

I want to put my face in Ranch.

P.s. I'm a southerner and sweet tea is the only drink.

I like this, but it requires an addendum. If sweet tea is not available, all Texans are required to drink Dr Pepper. The penalty for not doing so is the purchase of a dozen yellow roses for your mama and two weeks of public service, which would include learning to style women's hair for concealed carry purposes, two weeks at the range with a Ranger (OROR) to learn to take down "ferners" who tried to pick bluebonnets and a pepper eatin' contest.

Great thread, Catlynn.

People stereotype each other all the time. I watch it especially online. If you are outgoing, like to joke around, and will talk to anyone both male and female than automatically you are labeled a flirt and people think right away you are looking to hook up with any man that gives you the time of day. Don't get me wrong I will mess around when someone is joking with me. The concept that you have to be standoffish and a witch just so people around you don't misinterpret what is happening is just stupid.

And an FYI for those who seem to think I am some " easy" christian woman because you see me joking around, get a grip and loosen up. I am probably the hardest person to ever get to know and do you honestly think someone is going to waste time even trying?

You are a tough cookie..but that's part of yer' charm. You can't hide yer' sweetness though, that's like trying to stop lava spilling out of a volcano.

I tried to erase my post but in the middle of it I ran out of time. Sorry that was only directed to specific people who feel they need to judge me without knowing a thing about me or who I truly am.

Are y'all talking about the Shakespearean nunnery or the current Catholic nunnery? Because the Shakespearean nunnery was kinda like a local playboy mansion... I'm pretty sure Chrissy doesn't belong there.
