Yup. I got Dan because he was the only dog at the shelter who looked like he had a brain in his head. He sure is smart too, smart enough to teach me a few things.

I was very productive today. I cleaned my room, cleaned the bathroom, did laundry (still doing laundry), did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned off my kitchen table (it kind of becomes my "throw stuff here/junk" table), brushed all pets and may have brushed enough fur out of all of them to make a new pet, swept, and mopped. It feels good to have a clean house again, it a mess all week.
I also had my curtains pulled back and my blinds open in the living room to let in the sunshine since it was a gorgeous day, and I have a scent burning called "Rio Beach" that smells fantastic. It was in the mid-50s today and it makes me want it to be spring even though it's only mid-January. But, another part of me wants it to be cold and to get at least one good snow in before the spring.
On an unrelated note, I am not going on the road trip out west with my friends anymore. I can't afford it. :/

ugh! not getting as much of my "to do" list done as I had hoped. I tried to set up auto payments on a loan, but too many stupid mistakes later, it won't let me set that up due to excessive logon attempts....grrr. Tried to call to have it taken care of and spent many minutes in phone menu purgatory, only to find that there is no customer service on the weekends.
Got a bunch of recyclables sorted and bagged up. Didn't get to take them in before having to attend a rehearsal that I nearly walked out on due to too much drama (I am in a community choir with a bunch of cranky old people...I love old people, but not cranky ones.) Will have to check their Sunday hours, if open at all.
Making borscht with leftover lamb. Never had it before, so I have no idea how "authentic" this internet recipe is. Probably not, since I am using purple cabbage, since that is all I have. It is simmering right now and smells heavenly!
Tree is de-ornamented and ready to be boxed up. I think a real tree is in order for next Christmas. I miss pine. The fake tree wasn't so bad when I had a kid in band and their holiday fund raiser was selling pine wreaths. I practically stole the fake tree from Big Lots! (yes. the exclamation point is in the name of the store) and was very thankful for the purchase. Maybe I will give the tree to a struggling single parent next year as I was when I bought it.
Ah well...some vaccuuming is in order...then learning how to use my new glass grinder....then some borscht!

Today was non stop action!
I woke up, went to practice, went home for an hour or two, and then was back out again. I volunteered at a concert tonight. That was fun. It was pretty much a fee concert (though they charged us for parking. That wasn't free. Nor was it fun). I know the people that helped run the concert (no, I don't get any special VIP stuff, they're not that kind of people lol) and I told them I had fun and stuff and they asked if I wanted to help out at another concert in March. So I said yes! (Because free concerts. They rule) So yeah! Good night.

I feel free tonight. At around 9:30, a sense of liberty overcame me, and it felt so good to be out and about. This is definitely a feeling I want to chase.
Just saw Inception for the first time tonight. What an amazing movie!! Good to know there might still be some real talent left in hollywood.

Me too and what I love even more are threads that don't contain anything to do with OSAS.I love Sunday afternoons!
I'm realizing that I need to get my life together. Well, I've known that for a while now. I thought getting a job would help. When I did get one, before they dropped me, it almost made things worse. Everyone keeps asking, what about college? So I signed up for a dog training foundations class. I wanted to take it because I think it'd be good, but also to get people off of my back so they don't think I'm just doing nothing with my life.
The reason I need to get myself together is...instead of praying about all of these things, I just tried to appease people. Make them feel proud of me. I don't know what the heck to do with my life. But I'd rather be stuck at home, broke and lost on what to do than at college, broke, in debt, and lost on what to do.
Before I do anything else stupid I need to pray and see what GOD wants me to do about a job and education. I want to do what primarily makes God happy and me happy. If it makes God happy then it doesn't matter if people hate on me. I want to make sure it's me listening to God, though, and not me being a jerk. Because people like to do whatever they want and pretend it's God's will. That's not me. Before I make such a large step, I want to make sure I'm in step with God, not out of step.
